Harry could have had the life of a spare like Princess Anne. She had an Olympic sporting career before throwing herself into royal work. He could have had the life of a minor royal like Princess Anne's daughter Zara. She and her husband pop up at royal engagements but otherwise lead a normal life. However what Harry wanted with his half-in-half-out plan was to have his cake and eat it. Freedom to monetize his royal status whilst having the pick of royal work, in addition to taxpayer funded security and and internationally protected person status (which includes lots of tax perks). All the glamorous royal engagements, like meeting heads of states and celebrities, and none of the bread and butter work such as opening a community centre in Hull. So I think what he was demanding was unreasonable. The late queen turned him down and he's spent the last three years throwing a huge tantrum. He needs to start focusing on his young family and all the humanitarian projects he says he's all about.

I lost my mum 11 years ago yes I was over 40 but I found her dead in her bed. Imagine how traumatic that was for me when I had said good night to her the night before. Many years ago, I had a friend who was born into wealth. In college she was madly in love with this guy who was a great person and we all knew he would never take money from her family. I said to her that she needed to know that she would have to struggle with him. Her response was that she could because her family didn’t have a movie camera when she was young.
