Out of curiosity, do you know if I bring them out and they cool but still don't harden well, can I put them back in the oven to continue baking? Or would they be ruined?

@@yasminragab2434 if you feel that they are already ruined by being too soft, putting them back in the oven won't ruin them more. I have done this before, and it has worked, but take that with a grain of salt because baking is finicky.

@@yasminragab2434 Shouldn't do any harm, but remember that you'll need to account for the fact that they've cooled. I've done this before, and I had issues with it still not cooking by the time I thought it would, because it was completely cooled, so something that only.needed mayne 15 minutes to cook ended up being like an hour of confusing myself.

1. Get a tiny fridge for the bedroom. Maybe even a microwave. As a tiny satellite kitchen, to cut out some of the trips up and down two flights of stairs, and still keep up with the calories. 2. Dry cookies come back to life when you put them in a bowl with milk and pretend they're oatmeal. Hot or cold.

@@Ana-ko9px You don't have to go full on mushy. You could also break it into hard pieces and pour milk on like it's granola. Add nuts, add fruit, whatever. I have a lot of pain and fatigue so I am an expert at one-bowl meals. Make it quick, and no cookware to clean. Lie back down.

They are not kidding, I literally ate 3000+ cals a day while breastfeeding and still dropped weight. You need a LOT of food.

As a mummy whose been breast feeding for nearly 2 years so far. All you need is lots of water (at least 3l per day), plenty of carbs, a comfy seat and time.

Also, if you can get away with not wearing breast pads then don’t wear them. They will make you sore. Also get some tops with built in support as bras can be unbearable in the first few weeks. Be prepared for cluster feeding, this scares a lot of mums into giving the bottle, but it’s totally normal! If baby is feeding for many hours at a time in the first 3 months, this is cluster feeding. It is baby regulating your supply, trust their instincts, they know what to do! Just relax, get into a new series or game, surround yourself with water and snacks. Just enjoy it and don’t stress.

I started feeding in winter and actually preferred a hot drink at night time because I was tired and cold so prepared a flask of herbal tea every night before going to sleep, that really helped me through some long dark nights.

Pillows. Pillows and slings. I ended up making my own nursing pillow and putting a strap on it so I could just pick up the pillow and the Leech at the same time when I got up from the computer to go pee. Heh.

Jessica - the cookies being a little soft is OK. But make sure to let them cool on the tray or cooking rack for about 5min after (I do 2min on tray then transfer to cooling rack). They'll continue cooking for a bit just from residual heat and turn out perfect. 😁

Friendly neighbourhood homebrewer here. Brewers yeast and baker's yeast are the same species. The main difference being that brewer's yeast varieties are made to tolerate a certain amount of alcohol (depending on the final alcoholic content of whatever you're brewing), whereas baker's yeast is generally less specific, and just needs to be able to produce a certain amount of co2 to make dough puff up (and probably won't even produce any alcohol since it's not in an anaerobic environment). Either way, there's no way any yeast would be able to produce enough alcohol in the few hours that dough takes to rise to create any measurable amount of alcohol, otherwise the french would be getting drunk off of baguettes, not wine ;)

And if ten minutes is hard for Claudia try eight minutes. Trust me. My grandmother gave me her Christmas cookie recipe. You put it in the freezer in little balls and then roll it out and then roll it out and freeze it again and use intricate cookie cutters. She’d put a clove in Santa’s eye.

every time i make cookies i worry that they’re too soft but i have to remember after you take cookies out of the oven they do become more solid as they cool down so you need to take them out before they’re crispy 😅

Sounds like Claud and little one need a mini fridge and snack drawer in the nursery. I unapologetically snarfed down snacks at 3am while nursing, and not only was I blessed enough to nurse my littles to perfect chubby cheeked healthy and quite robust babies, I was able to donate freakish amounts of milk to a bank. It was much less than blissful at times but I’m happy that I could be momma dairy cow for the time I was and the crumbs in the babies hair brush right off.

I was less hungry during breast feeding my 3 children than when I was pregnant. I was very thirsty during breast feeding though, so always have a glass of water nearby.

Lactation cookies are honestly a con. Any food can fill the calorie gap and telling women they will fail breastfeeding without eating a specific thing like oats is just nonsense. Yes they are high protein etc etc.. but women will make breast-milk just fine without anything extra. Its another way to make women feel lesser, so they doubt themselves (lack of confidence in breastfeeding can cause poor milk let down) so they eventually switch to formula milk. My sister had two children and became an actual licenced breastfeeding coach to help other women overcome the doubt and lactation cookies were one thing most hated by the course. Women were quite literally built to make children, trust yourself and your body, if you struggle, get help, but never give up. You are good enough.

I agree with Claudia. A really good cookie is often the same color as the dough. The only change is maybe they’re a little caramelized around the outside.
