I was hooked on car detailing videos after watching my very first video a couple of years ago. I love car detailing. Purely amateur. Years ago when my kids would come home from college for a weekend I always sent them back with a spotless car and laundry. You are doing a great job. I will certainly be watching your videos.

you should look into getting an automotive glass cleaner as opposed to Windex or any other ammonia-based product. the ammonia can damage aftermarket interior window tint if your customer has it installed

Hi, Gabbi. I detail cars for a living and think you do a great job. One tool Id recommend at some point is an air compressor and air gun. Doesnt even have to be a huge compressor. It makes detailing that dash a lot easier by being able to brush in the solution and then as your wiping, just sending air in to get all the solution blown out and the area dry a lot easier. Same process for all the vinyl too to get it out of cracks, vents, speaker boxes, etc. Also comes in handy when theres dirt in carpets that just won't come loose. Its my #1 tool I have in my arsenal. Otherwise you're doing great, and your process is very similar to mine. Great thinking moving all dressing until the end.

Also remember that as you get into higher end cars with more delicate material, you wanna be careful with using the drill brush too much as it can damage fibers if you aren’t careful. Biggest thing I’ve learned is: always start with the least aggressive method, and then move higher if you need to. Don’t want to trade quality for speed! CarPro has an inner scrub mitt that will also shave so much time off of your interior cleaning. Twice as fast as a detail brush. Car Craft Auto Detailing has a cool video on it. CarPro inside is also the best interior cleaner I’ve used and tested, but it’s a little on the pricier side. Just sharing everything I’ve learned and know! I’m no expert and am honestly still a beginner just like you. Hope you get some value there :)

I’m a fan of The Detail Geek and Stauffers Garage too, but have you checked out Autoshine Cars at all? And if you intend to expand your knowledge of exterior detailing too at some point, JP Details is the man to watch. He’s methodical, meticulous and very knowledgeable. I watch The Detail Geek and Stauffer Garage too and I am really glad to see you doing a topdown cleaning method. One thing I really disagree with the Detail Geek about is his doing the carpet and upholstery first. Really nice job for only your 4th detail.

Hi, I am new to detailing also and I have been building up my supplies over the months of quarantine and watching my fave detailing youtubers but I was wondering what ratios you used for the Totally awesome cleaner because I also have that and I wasn't sure what ratios to use on the carpet versus the plastic interior. Thanks for the video I really appreciated it because I am definitely right with you on that learning curve. I bought some cheap detailing brushes the other day and they haven't come in yet but I hope they don't shed. Expectations are low though
@salty1100_
@salty1100_ 4 года назад
Awesome content! I would like to say though carpets last is fine if you have time to keep the car, but if you have a time limit, like most detailers do, then carpets/seats first allows adequate dry time.

bjorn vanhove that's something most people don't opt in for when getting a detail. headliner cleaning is usually extra & most people probably don't need it. and just because those guys didn't show it doesn't mean they haven't done it. it's pretty hard to get a headliner dirty so unless it's really messy there may be maybe one or two spots and that's not really worth the effort to position the camera & all that for a 5 second clip lol

Prior to how well kept the car's interior was before you started detailing it, before I even comment I must say woooooooooooow......!. The interior looked as that of a new car's interior after you detailed it again I'm impressed. Stauffer's garage and detail geek are also guys I follow they do pretty good work aswell. Do me a favor I don't know if you reply to your followers but if it's not too much have a look at "Wilson Auto detailing" and give me some feedback as to what you thought about his work. You may learn other tips from him. ONCE AGAIN EXCELLENT DETAIL BRAVO👏👏 Was having a dreary day until I saw this video thank you....!🙂

Great job. Still watching but I like it. I need to invest in a drill brush. I’ve been doing seats and carpets by hand for the last 15 years. I should get an extractor too. Also as far as tips go check out Apex detailing as well. He mostly does exterior stuff but there’s somethings we can all learn as detailers. And for leather seats make sure the seats were not dyed recently and use caution on them so you don’t damage them. I didn’t know the seats in my car were dyed and now they look kinda funny. But at least it’s my car not a customers.

Pan the organizer, car cleaning guru, and apex details. They are professionals, by no means is stauffer garage professional, all he does is clean, clay, and spray seal or paste seal. Same as detail geek. Their interior cleans are base level as well🤨🤨 just water based dressings and level one extraction.

Gabbi you have done an awesome job. Let remind you about the checklist and also there's no absolute way to do things but there are many good alternatives and great products to do the job. For example, the best soap foam is Wax Planet 8 Below but also there is Bilt and Hamber that work with other products and Turtle Wax Ceramic Wash if you are going to use the new Turtle Wax Black or Polish for none Black painted vehicles, etc. Also a great SIO product is Tec582 which in a gallon is very inexpensive since you can mix with soft water 50/50 and others. Like you if you're detailing a vehicle during hard daylight it's better to use the sun on your favor when cleaning carpets, you save in electricity and help the planet using natural resources, in case you need to have the carpets sooner, then you use the extractor. See, no absolute way to do things l, just accomplish the same with different alternatives. This is something I suggested as part of the checklist for the do's and don'ts on another of your videos. No one said this job was easy but it will become easier as everything else because of the walk you have to take named experience. Also watch Miranda Detailing, Wilson Auto Detailing, Auto Fetish, Apex Details, Forensic Details or Detailing. Just I like told a friend of mine when he wanted to do this, "Welcome to the Jungle"

Hey Gabi! I really relate to you as I’ve watched (literally) hundreds of hours of The Detail Geek and also some of Stauffers garage. They inspired me to start my own detailing business as well and it’s been going really well. If you were interested, I’d recommend checking out Car Craft Auto Detailing’s channel, and Ammo NYC if you’re looking for more info. I will always love the Detail geek as my favorite and original inspiration, but Car Craft Auto Detailing and Ammo NYC have given me a TON of insight into high end professional detailing. I.e. what it takes to work on Lamborghini’s and super cars etc. Car Craft especially is amazing and has a lot of non-biased, in depth product reviews and tutorials. The only difference between him and Ammo NYC is that he isn’t pushing his own products and there isn’t a chance for bias really. It’s not as relevant to the work that we do working on everyday cars, but I believe it’s important and will help us be ready for higher end details in the future, and will only add to our overall knowledge and competence as professional detailers. Your videos are looking great!
