Apex Detail Not at the moment, but it will be! I’ve been using blue painters tape and will be making the upgraded. I had no idea that the dedicated automotive tape was this nice to work with. I especially like the thinness of the tape and the easy removal.
Best tape I’ve tried yet. Heard great things about the kamikaze tape, but when I’m already getting the performance I want and can buy it in bulk when DI decides to have a sale (which is all the time) then I don’t fix what ain’t broken.
Mostly the green 3M and some of the red CarPro. I especially like the 1/4" CarPro tape. Comes in really handy with tight seams. Really don't mind paying for premium tape. Its ease of use alone is worth it.
Absolutely ! Especially since I don’t do it professionally you can really save a headache. Lacking the experience of a pro it’s that much more important in my opinion 🤘🏼
I started with the regular blue painters tape.I figured the pro’s I was following were only using the detailers tape because they were trying to prove the were “pro’s”. I did however pick up some of the the red car pro tape just because it was red and so was my Vette. I discovered it was better tape , a lot easier to mask emblems and curves. So I admit I was wrong and now exclusively use the detailers tape. I like to fold over the very end of a tape line when I can so I’m not digging my nails in a cars finish to pull it back off.
Great video! I just recently subscribed. I like that your videos are short, informational, and to the point with no hype or fluff. The only thing I regret is not subscribing earlier because now I have a lot of videos to go through. :)
I use 3M 233 to tape around headlights, outdoors, restoring them. Worried about adhesive bonding shadowing, worried to do high-end cars. Need best procedure, is there a product to put on the paint first to give more protection? it’s outdoors and hot. Maybe 3M adhesive removal, something super safe. I appreciate the technical knowledge.
Brian, I have just one question. Are you a mind reader? I was just thinking about you and wondering if you have made any video on tape and taping technique. Awesome video Thanks for everything you do for us
When are you going to start doing pinstriping :) Nice video I have just been using green painters tape but it is on my own cars. I will check out the Green precision tape for the upcoming spring cleaning and polish. Thank you Brian for all you do to show all of us these products and demos.
