The funny thing is, due to Atmey’s tomfoolery with the double jeopardy law, he took the fall for both crimes. Truly a tragic clown, and a victory for Mask⭐️DeMasque.
Atmey was pretty smart, using double jeopardy to act as a rock solid alibi as he stole the urn AND murdered Kane Bullard. He set up a good plan but at the end of the day he got caught

For everyone who thought he couldn't be Mask☆deMasque because his nose would rip a hole in a mask: don't be so silly. That is exactly what Luke Atmey wanted you all to believe. Who knows how many thefts he commited before. Of course he would wear a disguise even in everyday life so he wouldn't be recognized. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to learn that his nose is detachable (or however you spell this word), as well as his hair and his chin. The guy is a freaking genius.

I love how the case turned itself on it's head by SPOILERSSS Making the thief be the good guy and the detective investigating him actually the criminal who gets found guilty. Smart writing.

Has anyone noticed how Luke's appearance is so similar to the late Robin Williams, the comedian? They are both are/were kinda the innerly sad clown type and the name of this song "I just want love" goes well for the life of Robin Williams also...entertainer who gave love to myriad of people, but how much he got back in return, we don't really know...RIP Robin Williams :(
For a comedic villan his testimony was harder than the last trial of the game, the dude came with bullet proof testimony like it was nothing and to be fair he is way smarter, his ego was his downfall
Luke is indeed pretty much a genius. Setting everything up and making it believable... not only that, but taking the fall for a minor offense to dodge a major offense- that's just brains.
I mean he looks kinda scary when he stares directly at the screen with the other eye wide open when he confesses.. Also damn I hope he didn't get death penalty would be a shame
He didn't. By my estimations he likely got 30+ years to a life sentence. The person he killed blackmailed people in the same manner Redd White did, so it can be argued the killing was in self defense. So it's possible Luke got off with a bunch of Fraud and Perjury charges which would put his sentence at around 15 years. Ace Attorney is pretty wishy washy about a lot of details of how their legal system operates so it's kind of hard to tell what sentence everyone received, but a few months back I did my best to put together a list.
@@Yuni-is-Schrodingers-Fox yeah its always ambiguos, most of the people found guilty just disappear and are never shown again. Like for example manfred in the following games is almost never mention and they talk about him as he died but we never really got closure on that. I would love if we could also know the sentences cause I don't think manfred deserved death for example since he was also shot
@@pandinus1377 I believe its explained in the anime that Manfred was so shocked at his defeat by Phoenix Wright that he decided to hang himself before a sentence could be declared. Don't quote me on that though, I'm only going off second-hand information as I've never seen it.
@@Yuni-is-Schrodingers-Fox I believe to have read somewhere that Manfred didn't kill himself but rather insisted on being executed as soon as possible after the verdict was declared. A wish that was seemingly granted, given how he is spoken about in the sequel.
Me too I was very suspicious of her bc at first she didn't seem to care about Ron that much and would use him to gain even more money and priceless objects.
I still think this theme was the inspiration for Florent L'Belle's theme... The similarities in the cases is uncanny, and this theme is based on Ron's, which makes THIS theme's resemblance to L'Belle's and the two cases even MORE uncanny. Between this guy and Candice Arme, I can't possibly choose my favourite ridiculous punny name.
@Smashfaan it was a complicated case : Ron didn't murder anyone He went to the murder scene dressed as Mask*Demasque He witnessed a shadow that hit him... He was in a daze. As for the urn Luke Atmey dressed as Mask*Demasque And than changed the date on the picture to make it look like it was the same time the murder happened. That's basicly it.
I love how, despite his nose wants you to think otherwise, he actually lies a lot less than other criminals from the series. Think about it: he says he's an Ace Detective, and he caught Ron on his first heist. He says he's a genius. Well... his plan, the way he was manipulating MdM... we all know he actually IS. He claims to be Mask*deMasque by the end of the first trial, and... in a way, he is. He was the mastermind behind the thief's actions :P

i love this guy, hes one of my fav chars cuz he always goes "ZVARRI!" and like once i on the case where Dahlia hawforne is iris and she murders that book reader and before that Pheonix said "ZVARRI! You must be a fortune teller!"
