They might be scary, and you could straight up feel like that it is impossible to beat them, but generally, every boss that is "your size", has cool mechanics that you can use against them. Lord Gwyn in Dark Souls can be parried with a shield, Lady Maria in Bloodborne can be staggered with a well timed pistol shot, and of course, Vergil is the guy who can be bullied with Royal Guard :))))
@@Sergeant_Arch_Dornan vergil bullies dante with ROYAL DODGE..😤🤭 It's so fun when dante uses royal revenge and I just casually ultra instinct that and combo dante 😂
And then Dante slashing them in half after he hits them back. That was one of my favorite back-and-forth moments between Dante and Vergil as it really shows that they're twin sons of Sparda and possibly the only beings in existence that can match each other's power and agility.
@@caregalo2878 it's one thing to catch the bullets matrix style, and another to throw them right back I will say that masked lumen balder gently dropping them was really fucking cool though
Tch whatever, at any rate...it's been a whole year since we last met. How about a kiss from your little brother? Or better yet, how about a kiss from this? *holds up guns* Heh...so this is what they call a heartwarming family reunion?
Handcrafted for the game, masterful OST that knows exactly what to do and when to do it, hell that goes for just about everything in this game especially for its time
Virgil was a very kind boy in the past.He loved books, often fought with his younger brother, who was not weaker than him. The death of his mother caused Virgil severe emotional trauma. He feels guilty for her death. Believes that he was weak to protect its from death. Virgil loves his younger brother. But he reminds him of himself, weak and unable to protect those he cares about. Besides, Virgil thinks his mother left him to protect Dante, she actually died trying to find Virgil. About this Dante will tell Virgil in 5 parts of the game. In the end, Virgil sees the meaning of his life in atonement in order to become stronger and can overcome all of his fears enemies and most importantly to avenge the death of his mother. He's trying to tell Dante. But Dante disagree with him, and believes that they need to live as people, protecting the that mother and father protected under them double killing monsters.
Probably one of, if not, THE best battle themes in the entire devil may cry game series. The build up between their dialogue and the music is just a masterpiece all together. This song brings back so much nostalgia to me, i get goosebumps everytime.
00:25 - Dante: "You sure know how to throw a party... No food, no drinks... And the only babe just left..." 00:34 - Vergil: "My sincerest apologies brother... I was so eager to see you I couldn't concentrate on the preparations for the bash." 00:44 - Dante: "Whatever, at any rate it's been a whole year since we last met... How about a kiss from your little brother? Or better yet, how about a kiss from this?" *points Ivory at vergil* 01:02 - Dante: "So, this is what they call a heartwarming family reunion eh?" 01:09 - Vergil: "You got that right" *unsheates Yamato* I know all this from memory, spent much too time on the shower re-enacting this scene (while my mom thought I was doing other stuff lol).
Vergil Battle 1 is just a masterpiece. At the start, it's a small glimpse of Devils Never Cry, signifying that Dante and Vergil are related to each other. But when that part ends, it's game time. This shows that Vergil is ready to show you why he is the eldest Son of Sparda, and he'll do just that in this boss fight. In short, this first introduction to Vergil is menacing and foreboding, as it should be.
Honestly, this track is much better than Vergil 2. Dunno why they went with that one on all spin-off titles and future references instead of this one...
Now that I think about it, you're right. Vergil 2 may be iconic but it's better as a Dante vs Vergil theme. Meanwhile, the fight where you're meant to be curbstomped has this theme which could work wonders as Vergil's own if it was expanded upon.
@@TheKazuma410P Funny, I actually think its the opposite. I think the reason they went with Battle 2 as the "Vergil theme" its because Battle 1 sounds more of a clash between two brothers that didnt see each other in years; so much that on the first moment they see each other, they go straight up into a death battle. No wonder the initial tone sounds "sad and melancholic". And then, the music blasts to a sick confrontation song (and no wonder battle 3 uses the same initial riff from battle 1 as its main part, and its also part of the main title song: Devils Never Cry. I know that this riff is on Battle 2, but its not as impactful as the other songs). Or idk, maybe they were lazy. Either way, I wonder why they dont use Nelo Angelo theme also :/
@@ryancrafar3733 Not really, Vergil had the upperhand on the first battle, this theme you hear is his, not Dante's nor their clash. And they were even in the 2nd battle, making the Vergil battle 2 soundtrack about the brothers, not Vergil alone, because they're even there. Plus battle 1 song is more memorable with that electric snd pulsing all over. And also, you can hear that snd in his playthrough cutscenes, like here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z3FAzWfK7Ro.html
Love that booming sound in the beginning, effectively setting the tension. You're waltzing into a fight that's far beyond you, really driving home that Vergil might be about your size but hes a MAJOR threat.
This in my opinion is easily the best boss fight in any Devil May Cry game and one of the best boss fights of all time! I just love the build up of it. Dante and Vergil. As children they loved to play fight together. But many years later and they finally meet up once again on a tower with rain, thunder and lightning. Two twin brothers who haven’t seen each other in a very long time are finally reuniting again. And this time, there is no more playing around. This is a real clash between the two legendary demon brothers, the sons of Sparda. And it just feels so epic! The cutscenes were amazing, the boss fight was really fun and the boss theme was awesome!
Vergil: you showed up. Dante: you sure know how to throw a party. No food, no drinks, and the only babe just left. Vergil: my sincerest apology brother. I was so eager to see you i couldn't concentrate on preparations for the bash. Dante: whatever, at any rate, it's been a whole year since we last met. How about a kiss from your little brother? or better yet how about a kiss from this! * aims gun at vergil* So this is what they call a heartwarming family reunion, eh? Vergil: You got that right.
One of the most iconic boss fights ever in video gaming, hands down. From the very second Vergil snaps Yamato open to a click & the beat drops along with you as Dante- STRAIGHT into the battle... that's the kind of adrenaline rush that i want to see more of in modern gaming.
Devil May Cry 3 is my favorite game....when I saw the ending......I couldn't help but cry up a little... I will never forget this amazing game, or the characters
When I first got to this fight and then got to the point where Vergil’s HP was nearly depleted, I purposefully let him kill me just to fight him some more. That’s how amazing DMC3 bosses are. Edit: Uhh I take the dmc3 bosses statement back. Some bosses are just gimmick fights. Still has cool bosses though
Bro I feel this comment and its edit in my soul 😭😭😭 Dmc 4 is kinda like that for me too where most of it is so fun (minus dante's half) and then like half the enemies make me wanna just quit the game and break my controller
Fun fact: this theme is a remix of Lucia’s theme from dmc 2( but this is way better) (I still like dmc 2. It was just passed between different developers and was rushed)
rehman arshad Well basically DMC4 and DmC-Devil May Cry(People hate on this one, but I think it's actually pretty good). Aside from that, Darksiders and Darksiders 2, Prince of Persia Warrior Within and The TWO Thrones,
@@dantesparda1276 i am very late but you could actually get vergil's last battle earlier , i was just playing bloody palace yesterday and i got vergil's last battle as my second boss , but you still get it as the final boss anyways [ i got frustrated because i had to deal with his shit twice god damn it , not including his second fight ].
My favourite thing about this theme is the anxiety the music can induce in you first time around. Think about it, when a first time DMC3 player gets to this point and is confronted by Vergil on the top of that dark, rainy tower and the music and fight kick in it can make them panic and think, how tf do I do this?
i used to love the move he does with Yamato when he slash you like wind and says "comes" and some times "dies" and in the beginning sequence when u make that particular move and stop the bullets and send them back at Dante ...
Am I the only one that would love this track with the dialogue between Dante and Vergil as the introduction? "This is what they call a heartwarming family reunion huh?" "You got that right" *beat kicks in*
everybody always talking about all these other vergil themes, but this one was my favorite. was really hoping they were gonna play it for the dmc 5 vergil fight.
It’s just a random sample they found, it’s obviously going to sound similar. Jann Lee’s theme from Dead or Alive 2 uses the same sample, it’s just a coincidence.
