Let us give this song its due: Remember, before Vergil 2 in dmc3 with his "You are not worthy as my opponent!", the climactic battle of the same game with "You're going down!" and before even "Bury the light" and all its splendor; Remember....this was Vergils first boss theme. Pay it the respect it deserves, for it led into all his other awesome themes
man.. those swelling pipe notes at the start, THAT is what I remember as you turned and met your first REAL opponent in that game so far. The way he stood, the confidence, though I knew absolutely nothing about this man.. I knew he wanted to beat me.
To this day, Nelo Angelo stands as one of my favourite if not my favourite dmc character. He looks cool, his fights were fun as hell, his theme slaps, and the first time I heard this theme and saw him standing on top of the roof, prepearing to face us, I was so pumped
@@crystalalumina I am not sure. He is extremely cool, and it is not that don't like Vergil. But I am not sure wich one I favor more. Dante or Vergil. Because I love Dantes goofy personality, but also I have an edgelord within me who also loves Vergils powerhungry and more cool, calm and collected persona. I think it ultimately comes to that wich one looks cooler. And while their "human" forms look fairly similiar, when it comes to devil teigger forms, other than Nelo Angelo, I feel like Dante has Vergil beat in most cases. Not all but most cases. But then again, I feel like Vergils powers are a bit cooler than Dantes. With Yamato having cooler powers than the different swords that Dante uses. So technicaly Vergil is my favourite character, because Nelo Angelo is Vergil, but in the end I don't know if I like Vergil more as a whole, or if I like that I like Dante more than Vergil, but Angelo more than Dante. It is complicated I know, the brothers are very even for me, but I just fell in love Angelos cold speechless character and his design
l personally loved how he came out the mirror and challenged Dante to a fair fight. He opened the door so they could move outside, beckoned him with that small "come on" wave, then let Dante see him standing on the rooftop, so they could both prepare, then he jumps down NOT to get a strike in, but to show the fight has begun. No cheap shots, no sneak attacks, he kept the "guts and honor" from start, to last. Even showed TWO hints of foreshadowing: The first was coming out the mirror, that same mirror is actually the portal that leads to Mundus' main lair. The other hint of course.... was him coming out looking like Dante, a TWIN image. Obviously, we all know now he is Vergil, his twin.
As someone who got into DMC in a... weird order (introduced by UMVC3 and by that extent DMC3, didn't get properly interested until DMC5, finally started playing with DMC1HD), I was surprised by just how much of Vergil's design and lore existed since the beginning, despite functionally not being introduced as a character until 3. His name is established, his hairstyle and Summoned Swords all come from Nelo Angelo's final battle, and even the Yamato is a secret unlockable in New Game Plus. DMC3's commitment to continuity in a time where that wasn't the norm is very impressive.
this is definitely the most badass song to play in the entire DMC series. Seriously nothing even comes close xD I can think of other good ones, but this one is on a whole different level. Great BGM, one of the best imo.
love 0:45, I played dmc3 first and dmc1 second. and hearing that part of the track reminded me of the cutscene before the final boss with vergil for the 3rd time.
I remember playing the demo of this game. And this intro playing at the very end of the demo... then going "To be continued". I knew I had to get the game. Because that ending was just super "epic". I've played every Devil May Cry game from ever since. Only the 2nd game has sucked in my eyes. I even loved the new one. :)

Nah, It was meant to be RE4 actually, RE4 actually went through alot of concepts this was one of them, I remember one being a sort of Dream world kinda thing
The Dark Joker 99 It was meant to be Resident Evil 2 actually. Not 4. Because it became so much different, they made a different team to work on it. Resident Evil 3 wasn't even out back then.
Fun fact for those who don't know: Every single song in the entire franchise is a remix of this song, including every song in the 2012 DmC reboot. It took me many years before I eventually noticed this and my mind was and still is blown. Ever since I realized this I've been able to hear the leitmotifs in every other franchise I play and I love it when composers take the same song and remix it over and over like this. Pokemon also does the same thing with it's trainer, gym and wild battle themes. If you listen closely, you'll hear the exact same underlying beat of this song underneath every other song in the franchise. The beat simply goes 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 1,2,3,4 1(long pause), 2(long pause), 3(long pause) 4(long pause). The exact same beat applies to every single combat song in the franchise, and this leit motif can be heard clearly in all of Dante and Vergil's mob and boss battle themes. My theory is that this underlying base theme is Sparda's theme so it makes sense why Dante and Vergil would both hear it constantly everywhere they go in every battle.
Nelo Angelo better make a comeback in the next DMC game!! He's the only boss in the series that l consider a boss because he's so freaking challenging and bad ass. fighting him on DMD mode was well adrenaline pumping.
Vergil went off to fight Mundus, lost and became Nelo Angelo. Dante defeated Nelo Angelo who exploded leaving nothing but his amulet the twin of Dante's and half of the key to unlocking Sparda. Nero at the start of DMC4 had his right arm turn demonic and halfway through the game he finds Virgil's sword which causes him to scream *I need more power* just as Vergil apparantly would. It's all speculation, but it's not like it's possible to stop people having their own opinions of the series.

vergil was in the city before awakening the tower in the manga he meets sanctus and he says to him who will you worship the devil or the son who will surpass him his mom died when he was young and was orphaned and was adopted by kyries parents the manga shows connections to dante and nero like when neros powers awaken dante feels it and transforms when he gained his powers vergil came to him and asked what do you want he asked vergil and he said i want power and nero said i want power too
I think that the Similarity between "Nelo" and "Nero" is one piece of evidence, as is the fact that a few bosses in DMC4 are "Angels", some with the word "Angelo" in their names.

Back then, i always looking forward to any nelo fight. There's just something fun in fighting someone your size. Not to mention his boice and moveset are friggin cool

Or could be that Nero is Dante and Vergil stepbrother? You never know if Sparda was with another woman during that time or if Nero was a lost brother of the twins.
I'm hoping that one day they will put the entirety of the first DMC ever made into dark souls, but you played the DMC game with your dark souls character. Tons of fun would that be...!!!!!
people say nero is vergils son but vergil always looked down upon mankind as being weak and his quest to become as strong as his dad since his mom died were did he find a girl he not only found interest in but when would he have knocked her up considering he's been preparing and planning for yrs to open a gate to get his dads sword back and that was round age 18-21 if I remem right he gets stuck in the underworld so wondering if any one knows some facts behind the plot or not
It was always supposed to be NERO Angelo not NELO Angelo. The reason behind the typo being that there's no phonetic difference between L and R in Japanese. The typo just stuck. They kinda-sorta corrected it in DMC4 with the character Nero and his still unexplained connection to Vergil who as we all know becomes Nero Angelo (sorry, I refuse to use the typo).
I love to use this theme for alot of fights in different games. ^___^ I'm curius. Do you think Vergil died after Dante beat him? I don't want to believe it because he is one of my favorate characters.

In one of the guides they misspelt the name as Nero instead of Nelo. Neros starts the game partially possessed by Virgil and who knows? Maybe he is related to Sparda, two thousand years is a long time, somewhere in those 2000 years Dante and Virgil were born.
Yeah. For all we know, maybe Nero can use the Yamato because hes a human like demon like Sparda, Vergil, and Dante. Who knows if they're related because they have white hair.
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Dante have more power then Sparda especially in his utient critical form which I thinks hs real form. Also is t stry of nocturne with Dante canon
