You can also deviate from Argent if you'd like. I just don't want you to feel like your audience is limiting your growth! Mick Gordon himself said he learned a lot from going between genres.
If Outlander taught us anything it's to have big faith in your originals! Very exciting to get to hear a song for the first time, especially something as awesome as argent style!
A fun fact about BTL is that Casey wasn't allowed to use heavy metal guitars at all in some parts because of the instructions they gave him, but in passages like 12:40 here it's clear that this track lends itself perfectly to massive guitars. Damn! Great job guys.
Are you high? DmC5's music gets way more praise than literally any other game in the series. Shit, I bet more than half the fan base can't even name the dmc3 or 4 battle themes.
I think it's possible to mod an Argent katana for him. Doomguy's sword is already modddd in DMC5. I think with giving it a new material from that mod, it's possible. Though I don't have any free time to do it myself (for at least 20 days).
I don't think DoomSlayer could actually beat either of the brothers, but just the thought of either fight in general is badass. Put either one of them in the Doom-verse and they'd clean up Mars before dinner. I think it'd be hilarious to hear Dante's take on the different demons DS fights, especially the Spider Mastermind. Maybe even hear Nero talk about them, "You got wi-fi in there?"
Doomguy would be so confused about Dante and Vergil, like "You guys are demons...killing demons? Huh, alright then, but I got my eyes on the blue one..."
Technically half demon. Genetics aside, Doomguy would even be more confused by their father who not only married a female human but also rebelled against his entire kind, even when it got him killed in the end.
This would definitely be something these two twins would do to each other. For god sakes, most of the people Dante meets for the first time "kill" him. Kneecapping might be refreshing.
@@Profile__1 Dante: "Hey there, names Dante. What's yours?" Doomguy: **Impales him with Crucible blade** Dante: "Haha, yeah man, I get that all the time"
Hi... uh, I feel like I have some explaining to do. A while back on a Beana live stream I sent him the original Bury The Light for a very strange reason: I really wanted to make a 8-9 string cover of this song myself, but I lacked the technical ability to do so, so I threw it out as an idea (I just checked and it was the livestream from this past February). I never expected to see it actually happen, but I'm so, so very glad that it did lol. Like seriously guys, this is awesome. I'm still gonna cover this btw... it might take forever but I'm still gonna do it, especially because I have VERY different ideas for what to do with the arrangement... but goddamnit this just made my entire week so much better by seeing this! Love you guys!
In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. He chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace, and with boiling blood he scoured the umbral plains, seeking vengence afgainst the dark lords who had robbed him. And those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... *THE DARK SLAYER*
Some person on the internet suggested I come listen to your version of Bury the Light. Was not disappointed! Also, that is the most intense lawn mower I've ever heard 😂 Loved the song and the behind the scenes look at the process. Awesome work!

I understand if everyone else already asked for it, but you NEED to take a song from Berserk's anime and turn it into Argent Metal man. This is a masterpiece mates
@@thepastaprogenitor851 Is there really any difference? Anything Susumu Hirasawa, Shirou Sagisu, tvseries, movies, games, whatever. Berserk has a really identifiable sound to it, but Doom has big influences, story-wise. Just imagine how a good musician like Geoff can make a song like SIGN sound when "translated" into Argent Metal being sung with the deepest fucking demonic voices and chugging guitars in drop Z. My dick can only get so erect
holy fuckin shit this is godly, every note every tune hit just right, i am in awe at this masterpiece of auditory art, I have no words yet I am still more hyped for what's next ma god bro you are insane
16:35 Finally someone gets the lyrics for this part right! So many places i see the lyrics different and i just can't see why. Absolute solid job here man!
@@omarabe26 It's been established as Doom's main music genre for like, 3 months now i think I wanted it to be called Mick Metal, but Argent just kinds stuck and now everyone calls it that
Overall, this is a fantastic cover. However, as someone who deeply loves music, especially metal, the vocals just fall flat for me. This is no harsh criticism towards the vocalist, he sounds great!! I just think his voice needed to be alot grittier, or something along the lines. The instrumentation speaks for itself, fantastic job there. Final verdict: Still prefer the original.
I was thinking "agree, the vocals on the original hits more hard" and then i saw your pfp and think "that's a really cute fanart of Lucario" and then i ended with the idea of a Lucario doing a fuckin review of a metal song in full detail and that it's so funny to me
So... after watching, and singing along, the whole production, i can't say that it was a huge improvement like your other videos... i mean, it is hard to top off something that was already very good. No matter what you will cover next, we'll be here to follow your career. I also apologize if this sounds a bit too harsh, but don't let it stop you evolving and improving!
I think they just weren't breave enough with this one. They needed a deeper vocalist and a background chant. Also the guitar should have been more grindy chainsaw and less synth. Also when I listen to Argent be it the Doom soundtrack or his work there's almost 8-bit sound to it that didn't really make it into this one. It was fine for a cover but compared to others its undercooked. I don't think they were ready to do this one. Hopfully they circle back.
I appreciate that! 😊 Yeah I agree that Casey did such an amazing job with the original that it was pretty tough to change things to make them sound better. We could do something different... but better? Hard to say. Maybe another time.
Kind of like what 00Monkeyz said, deeper, maybe more aggressive vocals and more synth would of have affected the whole end result into something more Argent... Still, we'll be here supporting you!
I have to agree. Bury The Light have a very similar style to Doom music. There's not much you could do differently here unless you want to go djentyer. With that said, you guys did a great job and I'm enjoying this series very much.
Every single video of you explaining the development process of the covers there is a moment where i realize how sick its going to be, 6:20 was that moment for me on this one
Was Vergil even all that evil? He sought power, but do we ever actually know to what end? It's not like he wanted to wipe out humanity, but he went about their Mother's death in different ways. Dante became a hunter to continue his Father's work. Vergil wasn't satisfied with anything like that and wanted to BE his Father, but he was looking for shortcuts. One could argue that Dante took the longer road which is why he was stronger and Vergil took the Yamato for granted because it was more powerful. Sorry, sometimes I just get caught up in talking about lore. I guess I just never saw him as Evil, just incredibly selfish and uncaring. I imagine his escapades killed quite a few people, but it wasn't the main purpose of his quest.
@@Maniacman2030 my thought is this vergil felt betrayed by his mother and dante he felt they left him for dead when Mundus attacked so he sought power so he could never be in a situation like that again but it happened at the end of dmc 3 when you see him try to take on Mundus alone so in a way the games are not in order at all so it goes like this Dmc3 Dmc1 Dmc2 Dmc4 Dmc5
@@Maniacman2030 When was it stated that Dante was stronger than Virgil remember Dante wins all his battles only because we the players are using him if the roles were reversed Virgil would be winning every battle because we would normally play him.
@@Fuckyoutubecensorship1 honestly. by all accounts, Virgil should win. Their battles are literally just Dante bringing a dagger to a swordfight and only winning because Vergil's attacks can be predicted. And they're only predictable because it's in a game.
A storm is approaching! I may prefer the original but that doesn't make this cover any less badass. Subhuman would have probably fit better as a Doom style cover. Also, how great would a Doom style cover of a Metal Gear Rising song sound? Like Rules of Nature or Collective Consciousness!
NGL when i've heard Subhuman my forst thought was - heck, this belongs in Doom! Funny how u find it fitting as well) BTW Geoff teased there will be more DMC 5 covers sooo.. i guess it'll be there sooner or later
While these mashups are obviously more popular and are definitely helping you grow your channel, Outlander is still my favorite song of yours. There is just something magical about going unapologetically full DOOM with absolutely no compromise whatsoever.
Thanks! Yeah, I agree and I actually am shooting for another original for the next video, hopefully it will scratch that doom itch in just the right way
Would you imagine a collab with Casey Edwards, Mick Gordon and Jamie Christopherson (Metal Gear Rising)? And I know that this could be too much, but what about Kamil Orman-Janowski (Path of Exile)?
This is in my opinion the best cover out there, and the attention to detail and LOVE that has been poured into this track is evident in spades. You guys should be insanely proud, this rivals the original and even fills some niches I didn't know needed filling.
This is probably the absolute best song I'll ever listen to. a combination of my favourite style, and one of the best songs i've ever listened to, it's just... beautiful...
Doom Guy: so what are you guys here for? Vergil: were fighting demons. Dante: no hes avoiding his son. Doom Guy: wow thats crappy I uh can get you dudes out of here.
I heard the black metal Succession in the background, one of my favorite songs of yours On top of the song itself, I'm nearly in tears. This was absolutely fucking incredible
The Vocals to me at least don’t actually sound metal enough, like the demon of death parts are good but it doesn’t really carry through the whole song.
Thank you for being precisely what I was looking for when I searched Bury the light cover I have been listening to these two OSTs interchangeably for the past year.
