Being able to rend reality apart, flinging both himself and Dante through space at incalculable speeds as they fight tooth and nail across the stars. THIS is what power looks like.
@@-Poka- yeah i liked both, but original mundus is infinitelly better, it turns into a shoot em up on the first phase for christ sake, how cool is that?
@@memberofchat2825 First part is fine but the second part is literally rng on dmd, he just spams the meteor rain and orbs half the time and youre bound to get hit by them since they last so long
@Goddess Shadow I say nero, because dante and vergil already had a development in 3 games with their stories and background, aside from nero he is hardly a new character and he will not remain as a simple secondary character like trish and lady
I completely agree with you. I'd love if he returned and they added another playable character along side Dante and Vergil. That character being a Nephilim working along side Dante and the group only to find out it's Mundus son secretly plotting to take out the Sparda bloodline and his own father
The fact that people are still talking about a game that’s over 10 years old shows how good it was. Honestly DMC1 is my favorite and I hope they bring Mundus back to end it.
I recently got DMC5 And playing this over Dante vs Urizen seriously sets the mood. I wish they would've remixed this for that fight. Sparda's theme playing for the equivalent of Sparda vs Mundus of our present time. God DMC storytelling Is amazing.
@@itsanti2748 Not sure if Sparda's theme would have worked for the fight against Urizen. Urizen is just the demonic side of Vergil who happened to take advantage of a power vacuum in the demon world and proclaim himself the reigning lord of the Underworld.
Fight in a sky in space, our devil trigger its infinite, the genre of the game change, the controls are inversed, and trowing dragon of fire to mundus and this song its playing. I love devil may cry
My favorite by far is the one when he is sitting on the throne where he is so powerful he doesn't even need to move. Then you start the game again and realise he was in the very first room...just watching you. Creepy.
@@arsenal4739 in the first level of Devil May Cry there is a big statue on the first room. That statue was actually Mundus :O You can see it by just playing the first level, there's no way you are not gonna see it because it's huge.
@@ryngtolu4334 Oh no I noticed the statue. But I never truly thought it was Mundus for some reason and randomly thought that it was another Easter egg that wasn't the statue. But thanks anyways, that's rad.
i dont think that was him though, remember he is trying to open a portal to the human world, which he does at the very end of the game before you kick him back through the portal, also the statue doesnt look nearly as big, yes i know its not there once you come back to the castle but the entire castle starts getting all warped up once you come back at night
when you vow to kill the demonic god-thing that killed your parents, then actually walk straight into the trap he sets for you and do precisely that without flinching.
No DMC villain will ever surpass Mundus. Arkham is passively unconcerned with human lives, including those of his wife and child. Sanctus is manipulative, looks down on others, and sees compassion as a weakness. Mundus, though? Mundus thinks that caring about other people is stupid. He doesn't just have a passive disdain for it like Sanctus and Arkham, he actively reviles it. He doesn't believe that anyone else should even be a person. He strips Vergil of his will and identity to create Nelo Angelo, not because he has to, but because he looks down upon Vergil. Urizen didn't need to subject Lady and Trish to that to make Artemis and Cavaliere Angelo. Mundus did it becuase he detested Vergil's sense of self. He did it out of pure cruelty.
while new Mundus was developed to be a megalomeniacle, and almost sympathetic character. The classic Mundus was developed as a godlike entity who was very manipulative and scheaming, who would do anything to get what he wants. Even if it meant killing one of his own which he has done many times and showed no remorse or sympathy.
What i like about Mundus is that he's a bad guy even for Demons. The only demons with a conscious(Trish&Griffon) seem to end up regret ever supporting Mundus.
After the first DMC it is said that Mundus is still alive, but he is sealed away. So, technically, Mundus is still active and sends demons to attack Dante and his friends (in DMC5 it is said that Cavaliere Angelo is the failed project, which Mundus intended to create an army of the black knights (Angelos)).
@@vadiks20032 well, yeah, kinda but that "stone with a devil inside' it's one of his forms, more than anything, a godly form, so, it's not just a sculpture that keeps a demon inside of it
I was waiting for Mundus in DMC to turn into a badass angelic demon for his final form, instead he turned into some dark blob like monster that was no where near as tough as this Mundus was back in Devil May Cry 1.
To be fair does he really need to get a serious as his battle with Mundus? In DMC2 he's fighting a psycho who played Final Fantasy once, and probably reads to much fanfic. In DMC3 is just Daddy Issues the game. And why bother seriously fighting your Dads toxic fanbase. In DMC5 he's trying to act normal for Nero doesn't see anything going on
i agree, a lot of people say that 3 is the best and i can see why but personally i think 1 was better and it had a much better final boss, i mean vergil is cool and all but fighting mundus was awesome
DMC6: Vergil (now with sin DT): Remember me bitch? Time to get motivated! *(Dante and Vergil procede to kick Mundus’ ass in the most epic double team revenge in gaming history.)*
@@superhydra8873 He's probably the only known demon to have to be sealed away twice instead of killed off. Once by Sparda and the second by Dante using Trish's powers. Otherwise it showed by the end of Devil May Cry 1, Mundus was tougher than what Dante could dish out and was about to win against Dante in phase 3 if Trish hadn't appeared. Mundus is possibly the biggest mainline threat in the franchise as a result.
@@wtfhahahaha Turns out that Vergil could've beaten Mundus at the time if he wasn't in a weakened state. Seeing how Mundus hadn't fully resurrected he kept back while Vergil and Dante wore each other out.
But this Mundus is DMC Mundus. What you mean is DMC Mundus would rape DmC Mundus. I definitely agree with you on that. DmC Mundus is a poncy weakling imitation of DMC Mundus. If they battled each other the DMC Mundus would contantly be laughing at DmC Mundus, DmC Mundus couldn't even fight as well as DMC Dante and DMC Mundus was mocking DMC Dante for his weaknesses. Could you imagine what he'd be like towards DmC Mundus!? LOL!!!
+Tony The Gamer 1995 Actually DMC Mundus is the demon king but still :) He's essentially a god, considering neither DMC Dante, DMC Vergil or DMC Sparda could destroy him. DMC DANTE could only send him back to the demon world wielding the power of both DMC Sparda and Trish. So DMC Mundus is almost invincible. It would probably take everyone; Dante, Vergil, Nero, Trish, Lady and Lucia wielding their full power together to finally bring an end to Mundus. That's how strong DMC Mundus is.
+Tony The Gamer 1995 That's not forgetting the countless army of demons DMC Mundus has at his disposal. He could send wave after wave to weaken his adversaries first, then finish them off himself.
+Tony The Gamer 1995 I think he's still defeatable, but it would take everything to bring him down. He doesn't get tired because he's a pure demon so he's unrelenting all the time. Dante, Vergil and Nero on the other hand, have exceptional superhuman endurance, speed and strength but they are only cambions, half demon half human. They have some of the limitations of a human, such as getting tired and somewhat weak after fighting for so long. The Sparda blood that flows through the veins of Dante, Vergil and possibly Nero still makes them a serious threat to any demon that stands before them. But... even they would struggle fighting Mundus alone.
+KuroNoTenno The only thing that bugs me even today is that he looks like an Angel. What plot twist would it be when in DMC 5 he suddenly reveals he is an fallen Angel betrayed by his own kind and he became the Demon lord we all know to get his revenge......damn that would be epic. Would explain why in DMC 4 there were so much Angel like monsters and bosses.
Man, DMC1 and DMC3 final bosses were so freaking tough in DMD mode, they were nightmares to beat.DMC4 was very kind towards the player on DMD compared to 1 and 3 XD
@@DNchap1417 have you ever played it on dmd? I can say one thing. I struggled so fucking hard in that game on dmd. I got abso destroyed by the flying moth or butterfly, the skulls, and despair embodied on dante must die. Oh and those guys that regen and run away? Yeah they always did that to me if I was too slow.
Probably a combination of everything The will to defeat Mundus like his father did Mundus created Trish and used her as a way to get inside Dantes heart The fact that Trish sacrificed herself for Dante like Eva did The full power of his father flowing through him His general hatred towards Mundus and his sadistic ways. This was pretty much the biggest moment in Dantes life and I think thats what the music is trying to say. "all or nothing"
I dont know of any other boss fight that combines every aspect you could ever want in a final boss. Immeasurable power on both sides, Dante inherits spardas sword and power, mundus undisputed king of his word Amazing arena, a void ABOVE a vaccum of infinite space Killer ost that booms across the stage Extremely personal and grand at the same time You have all your powers in the utmost form but only one ( the enhanced dragon devil trigger) can do anything Hard as balls But not like goofy or confusing like some anime or anime game battles
@@onlyechadtherebellious2467 The savior was supposed to be powered by Dante, but instead relied on Nero. It only vaguely resembles Sparda. It did not have his power. Nero would stand no chance against it otherwise and Dante wasn't even trying against it.
@@sembarangjaknama He would grab him by his rather fatass neck and punch him into oblivion, a single punch would blow his entire head in the air But more realistically i'd think DMC Mundus would use magic, not brute force like the DmC one
I was happy to beat his giant form, only to know that i have to fight him again after that. I lost my shit on Normal, not planning for a DMD playthrough, i had enough. Even as a souls player and a proud owned of DS2 and Bloodborne platinums, i will not.
But there are a lot of references to it -Jubileus is similar to Mundus -Bayonetta is similar to Dante (born of light and dark) -"flock off feather face" is a word for word quote from DMC1 - The bangle of time was in DMC1 - The relationship between Jeanne and Bayonetta is similar to Dante and Vergil -Balder looks pretty much exactly like Sparda To name a few
looking back at it now even tho DMC 1 DMD is already alot easier than before i still have flashbacks from when i beat it the first time especailly when listening to this OST DMC 1 DMD is harder than 50/20 in Ultimate Custom Night or any other 20 mode in any fnaf game or any fan game i played harder than Dark Souls 1 and 3 which i played and definetly harder than other dmc's DMD this difficulty in this game will always remain in my memory as the toughest challenge i beat so far nothing else comes close i am a game developer and i am making my own Hack & Slash and i am gonna make the hardest difficulty in my game 50 times harder than DMD for DMC 1 or maybe even more wish me luck on beating it myself once i am done with the game
why are you comparing fnaf to a hack n slash? completely different genres dude, also none of the souls games are hard, of course i tried to play it like a regular hack n slash the first time i played it by mashing the attack button but once you realize you gotta take it slow and play it properly, the games have no challenge what so ever, i like those games dont get me wrong, they are really fun but they are not hard.
@@memberofchat2825 i wasnt comparing its just that 50/20 mode felt easier than DMC 1 DMD, yet is still extremely hard, especially when i beat 50/20 mode for the first time a month before i beat DMC 1 DMD also about DS DS3 felt like a challenge, of course its easy once you have already beaten it, but for first time you gotta learn the bosses' patterns and practice em which is where the challenge is... at least for me im just saying that the difficulty in DMC 1 DMD is a lot more memorable than other challenging(or hard) games i played up until then, not that those arent memorable in terms of difficulty/challenge... they are, its just that DMC 1 DMD felt special to me when finally finishing mundus for the first time on DMD and that's why i want to make my own game's DMD equivalent... hard (50 times harder than DMC 1 DMD is what im aiming at lol) so that it would be extremely memorable(as well as also being fair despite being that hard)
i will never forget how i was fighting mundus on DMD mode as a 10 year old boy. it took me weeks to beat him becoz i had no items and no yellow orbs D: and this theme was always playing in the background. pretty sure it was the hardest fight in my life and in the history of Devil May Cry.
DMC series made my perspective change about both angels and devils. The devils might be bad, but there might be some of them that has a good intention. The angels might be holy, but we never knew what are their true intetions.
(2/2) I must admit that the Mundus boss fight was on some intense Sonic Final Boss Fight type junk and that made the fight really crazy. 1.Your fighting the Demon God, Mundus, IN THE AIR!!! 2.Your doing while transformed as Sparda, the Legendary Dark Knight..so its like Sparda VS Mundus Part 2. 3.It was truely challenging. When I beat him(after like 10 tries) I was literally down to 1% of health and it was by pure luck and Sparda spamming that I finally won.
This. Is. The. Most. Decisive. Battle. I've ever played in my entire LIFE in DMC universe! I really hope that Mundus would be able to make another appearance in the next DMC game series!
This better happen again in DMCVI with both Dante and Vergil giving Mundus a demonic, son of Sparda, stylish ass-kicking. (I mainly just Vergil to get some sweet vengeance for the whole Nelo Angelo business)
I can see why vergil at the end couldn,t beat mundus not just because he was weakened but mundus can,t be hurt unless you have the sword of sparda (hende why in dmc 4 it is broken).
It's fun coming back to this, especially after marathoning everything Nostalgia, good energy This song literally helped motivate me to keep running so I'd catch the bus in time xD I did make it~~ It works~~ Also, silly thing, 2011, when I first learned about DMC, this picture, I thought Mundus was this big mummy guy or something
I can assure you your not the only one. Tbh whatever they decide to do with the series now I don't think they could do anything that would make me forget how much of a liberty they took with us. I got the HD collection and 4 and that'll keep me happy for many years to come.
I Was so disappointed to hear that Capcom stated that Urizen was more powerful than Mundus...his power display and battles are not even close to Mundus IMHO.
@@kagetsuki23 This works at your convenience or what? The point is not the condition of the character (THAT's dumb and completly irrelevant) but the fact that he broke Yamato.
I be honest compared too the savior , this boss has grown on me the more i play him on DMD even if i think he is a bit unfair in some aspects i cant help but love how much variety and setpieces this fight has without losing gameplay and the boss theme is still amazing
1, 2 and 3 were all such extreme deviations from eachother that your first impression of him is crucial to how your view the series. I knew a guy who played 2 first and to this day he still says it is a good game and not half as bad as people say it is.
I'd like to see Mundus come back as the final boss of the still rumored Devil May Cry 5. I could see it happeing since the speculated story is that Nero goes into Hell to find Dante after he gets trapped from his battle with Argosax and the Despair Embodied. One thing I want out of it though, is why Dante's personality had less expression than Kristen Stewart's acting.
I think getting that to fit in with the continuity along with the contradiction of Nero's supposed relation to Dante is probably one of the reasons the series was rebooted. It was all becoming a bit of a tangled mess. From a direction standpoint in 2 they probably wanted Dante to be all 'brooding' and 'dark' clearly not realising that this was a big mistake and thinking it would make him popular. But tbh I think DMC2 was a doomed game from the start, the plot was awful and this was only made worse but the dreadful dialogue and terrible performance of it. Plus everything about the gameplay was god awful. MAN that sequel left a bad taste...
Well they may or may not even continue the reboot. The people at Ninja Theory say that they'd like to but their hands are tied up with their new game Hellblade. And Capcom has supposedly confirmed that a new Devil May Cry game is in the works at their main studio in Japan regardless of Hideki Kamiya wanting them to let his studio make the game instead. I think that the special edition of DMC4 next year may give some extra story that could lead into the rumored sequel.
I have an idea. They could just write off DMC2. Since it's the last game in the chronological timeline of the original games, they could easily just say that it never happened like Akira Toriyama did with Dragonball GT. The new game could be a retelling of DMC2 but with better writing and more characters involved. I felt so alone in that game. It made sense for the first game to be like that because Dante was at a mansion on a remote island. DMC2 was on a larger island with a big city in it. You could easily add Lady and Nero into the mix with either a better developed Lucia or a replacement for her.
I really do wish Capcom would take their finger off the stock market button and just give the rights of DMC to Kamiya and Platinum games. That would solve all it's problems.
@MisterPudd If I remember right in the making of DMC4 Kobayashi said that he saw DMC1 as his biggest competition out of all of them. (or something along those lines) Makes sense as a lot of DMC1 references were in 4 such as the castle setting, a lot of the classic style enemies were back and like you said the big statue which was likley a reference to DMC1 as well. Quite funny as Jubileus from Bayonetta (which was made by the same guy who did DMC1) was probably a reference to Mundus as well.
This fight is so epic... it's unreal. Playing as the Devil Trigger of Sparda, the legend himself to fight one more time against Mundus... I got the HD Collection, and I never played Devil May Cry ever. Mainly because of Bloodtail the Demon Hunter. And I have to say, it's one of the most frustrating games made, but the epic gameplay makes it worth it... The most epic fight in all of history. Naturally.
Whenever Devil may cry 6 comes out I hope it’s some years after 5 so Nero can hone his powers and abilities more just imagine if he suddenly gets a mysterious call about another world ending threat somewhere on a distant island and Nico and him go to investigate I would really like to see Nero have a shot at mundus but maybe he wouldn’t be strong enough at this point and Dante and Vergil arrive at the last moment in another pocket dimension from Yamato cut into the one Mundus would create for himself and Nero.
Dude...it is...IT IS!! DAMN! What a great catch dude! Lol Yes, if you take a look at 0:12-0:14 in Devil May Cry (5) Captivate 2012 Gameplay video, the guy did mention the word "Mundus" and this is definitely have the high potential about Mundus would be able to make his appearance in the new DMC game series!. But i hope that CAPCOM and NINJA THEORY won't decided to change Mundus appearance like how he use to be in Devil May Cry 1. :(
@MisterPudd I dunno I thought the jackpot in 3 was a bit naff compared to the first. The beams just like floated out and hit him seperately and he slowly died. In the DMC1 jackpot they flew out of E&I, tore through the air like fighter jets. Combined into one mega beam and blew Mundus clean out of the dimention. I also liked his Anime one where he goes "aaand jackpot.." like he was pandering to people who were waiting for him to say it.
