Today, I went to Devin Castle, Slovakia - about 20+ minutes by bus outside the city center. It was an easy Bratislava day trip!
It was HOT and I was so glad to see that they had lots of free drinking water at the castle.
Devin Castle was built in the 800s and remained occupied until the 1400s! It is a great day trip from Bratislava. You can take the bus for free AND get into the castle for free if you get the super-cheap Bratislava Card - you can read about that right here:

There is a cool, though small, museum at the top and it has a spectacular aerial view of the confluence of the Danube and Morava Rivers!
