WHAT DA FUCK!? SOMEONE EVER HEAR SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN LIFE? i have no words. and god why...i mean WHY??! THIS DONT HAVE 1 MILLON VIEWS. I feel sad about those that dont understand this masterpiece.
I know you want to be a youtube hipster and are looking for gratification. But don't force your opinions and emotions onto other people. That's what Hitler, Stalin and Mao did. Namaste.
@@julianarnold7992 Julian plays the "you're a hipster/you're a fascist/you're a communist/I'm soooo enlightened cause I can spell Namaste" trick. What a fucking idiot
Some songs are just born to be played live. This is one such example. I would love to see something like this on the Grammys so those in the crowd could be left speechless.
My 40 year old heart has hardened through the years. Everything from being a soldier to the friends and family I've lost, the pains life has dished out, my peaks, my highs, I feel a flood of fucking everything, and it's so overwhelming in such a good way. My stone face has lit up, and tears have hit my eyes for the first time in what feels like years. I feel motivated. I feel empowered. A song, a fucking song, is creating this feeling... not a drug, not gambling, a video game, ... a fucking song! At sounds of the underground in Phoenix Az. July of 2005, one point Hevy Devy walked past me, within arms reach. I could have said something, but I didn't. I don't know what I could have said without sounding like an idiot. Okay, back to my seltzer water with a dash Himalayan salt.
I'm with you, brother. I can see and hear of great tragedy and not blink. But music like this... particularly THIS song... it makes my feel emotion in ways I haven't otherwise felt in a long time.
I'm 68, and my wife of 28 years has been locked away from me for 8 months in assisted living, and this music is about the only thing keeping me sane and alive at this point. God bless Devin.
Usually I listen to death and brutal death metal, but I discovered this record and it remains one of Progressive Metals only albums that I really fell into love with. I don't like DT or any of those other bands, but Devin has a big place inside of my musical heart!
One of the most beautiful, and moving songs ever created. It's like flying to heaven. It's like soaring across the surface of a vast golden sea. It's like plunging into the depths of space, at unfathomable speeds, to behold wonders untold. It's like every fiber of your very being has been set free. It feels like being embraced by the living embodiment of pure love, and acceptance, and it brings me to tears.
I like that description. Sadly, my take on this is that of the expression of the deepest regret, and also that of utter soul wrenching pain of the affected persons - yet, there is always a hope or an offer of forgiveness and love
All of these comments are spot on but this one really resonated with how I feel by the end of it when he's smiling so genuinely. Good job encapsulating the feeling so concisely. I fucking love all of you!
omg !!!! what the fuck just happened to my stereo !! it just gave birth and pushed out this absolute fucking masterpiece!!! absolutely mind blowing , production and performance! just fuckin wow! Modern day mozart this man! no words
That those things could go together was something proven years before Metallica did it.. For instance Gorefest - Goddess in Black version with orchestra in 1995. Pretty sure they weren't the first ones either.. As for the rest, I agree :)
My favourite song in the world. I don't know if the Official or this Live version is better. I've listened to it a hundred times, and it never fails to amaze me. This barely squeaks by Funeral as my top song ever...and Funeral is nothing short of a masterpiece. Even after listening to it as much as I have, it still brings me to tears
every "screamer" ive ever heard losses a little bit of that "umph" they once had. This guy just seems to keep getting better and more versatile. The same goes to his performances. Truely amazing!
Literally one of the most moving music experiences I have had in years. Tears of joy, pain, and freedom all in one song.. How did I ever miss this? 2020 not so bad after hearing this.....now to listen again.
This song is so extremely good!!! Masterpiece!!! Devin is one of the greatest and most important musicians of our time!!! I have been a fan since «Sex and Religion» album with Vai in the early 90s :-)
I already have a difficult time holding it together listening to this music from recording. I can't even imagine being in the audience here...so much energy. I feel like it would just bust me open and my soul would leave my body. Shit!
Ever since I discovered DT , always goose bombs attach me when watching his live shows at royal Albert hall , what a great band .. they right into what they are playing ❤
I absolutely love Ryans drumming on that tapping bridge, and have told him so,and he admits how happy he was of what he came up with. I hope DTP tours again,I know Imonolith and Devy have their own things going, but DTP is so freakin' amazing..be a shame not to take it out for another spin.
@@christianvoller5275 very good. I only stumbled across him recently. I like opeth and porcupine tree along with some other prog stuff. Should be a good gig.
I'm half Finnish half Israeli. I'm glad that I bought Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine cd back in the days... I didn't knew who he was and I was blown away! And hooked instantly while listening to the cd litlle I known that the more I listen to it the more I❤️it! I'm BIG Devin fan. Thank You mister Devin Townsend for a life changing experience.
Fuck me million times over Devin Townsend is the most unheard of charismatic voice of brilliance. Im 40 and discovered him 1 month ago. That one month trounces the last 2 decades of musical discoveries. I can happily die now
You know sometimes he looks like a little kid just astounded that he is where he is doing what he does and enjoying every minute the way a little kid would not believing that things are really the way they are fascinated in the wonderment of it all and I love it the way he has that look and I think that's how we see things as well watching him play
Simply beautiful. I hope that orchestra went home that night proud, because that might have been the best orchestral team up I've ever heard, and I'm including No Leaf Clover and Alice in Chains cover of Kashmir in that statement (even though all 3 of these are spectacular)
As someone who essentially only listens to popular (non-classical) music I think orchestras who play with pop/rock/metal artists are bored to no end the whole way through these concerts. I mean, they are used to playing much more complex and rich music, so I wouldn' t be surprised if they were just getting a paycheck there. I might be completely wrong, of course, but that's just my impression.
Well, depends which band they play with, I'm not sure all the parts were easy for the orchestra which played with Dream Theater, same with Dimmu Borgir, some parts can be "tricky"
I have followed Devon ever since he appeared on Steve Vai's 'Passion and Warfare' and it has been so rich and rewarding. Devon Townsend one of the greatest musicians of our time. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent and music. \m/ \m/
Dislikes.... really??! Even if this isn’t your type of music you really have to be naive to not recognize the incredible virtuoso talent that Devin has as a musician, composer and singer. Besides being a wonderful down to earth human being! Devin Townsend is one of a kind!! ❤️
Devin makes the most emotionally charged music I've heard in my life. I hate that I didn't discover his music until I was in my 40's. The first thing I heard was on RU-vid. It was the Live performance at Royal Albert Hall. It was the first time I was ever moved to tears listening to music. I wish I'd found his music long ago.
Qué bestia, ésa presentación me puso la piel de gallina, que cosa tan increíble en verdad, ésa es música no sólo con verdadera genialidad, sino también con mucho amor.
A guy named Farokh Bulsara - better known as Freddie Mercury - once wrote a musical piece entitled Bohemian Rhapsoday. This is that kind of genius 💚 Some kind of magic..
