Definitely wanna see more Devon. He has carried quite a bit on his shoulders the last few years. I'm sure mentally he's exhausted and probably physically wore out as well. I'm sure after a good break to enjoy life and family time, he will be back smashing everybody again lol

I think he needed and deserves a break, And not that he will, But I’d like to see him tweak his training by adding a few key base strength exercises to his training about twice a week to allow good recovery.

Well far as I know next for Devon is a visit to Mr Shaw's pad. Literally millions of people can't wait for that. :D He's going to mentor Brain into an arm wrestling beast I feel. Maybe Brian is actually paying him to do so. For a while. Who knows.

Devon knows he will never beat the best, but 2nd best isn’t bad. Also the kings move should be banned, it’s just a desperate attempt to stay in a match you’re not strong enough to win!

The guy has pulled well over 10 matches in a whole year all that traveling jet lag training no one's done what he's done with the competition he's done it with let him have his break and he'll be back I need a stronger than before with a new rise

D isn't a superheavy weight. He never has been and has been punching way above his weight the last couple years making his results so impressive.

I don't think Devon is going to return to the SHW league, I definitely think he'll be back to competing sooner rather then later, but I think it's entirely appropriate and probably a good thing that he is taking a break, he did a lot to rival Levan, almost a year and a half of near constant focus and training for a single objective is really taxing. To be honest, if he comes back to the scene in a mentor role that wouldn't shock me, even if he does compete it might just to demonstrate certain things. Whatever he decides to do I thin he deserves to take a break, he's worked his ass off XD

I'm surprised by this news to be honest. Devon is actually peaking right now, he's never been stronger. Seems like a terrible time to step away just because of one loss. It's hard to see someone mentally break. I think you've proven yourself more resilient Michael.

His break won't be longer than the normal intervall other wrestlers are pulling at.

I can’t imagine Devon not competing at 14. I just think he’s taking a break now, so he’s ready for August. Hopefully anyways because I definitely plan on going to that one. My mother-in-law has timeshares and she already booked a timeshare for those dates in Orlando. We get to bring all our kids to end the summer. We’ll spend a week over there. I just told them Friday and Saturday I’m going to that event lol.

He also said that that mat h was too soon for him, i see him pulling by winter, or maybe early next year.

It's not a surprise if you recall what he said after his last match. Devon said he's going to train somebody, he's going into coach mode.

I hope he helps bring in more strength ATHLETES. Levan needs some competition. I personally love all weight classes left or right hand but the Super Heavy Weights will also bring in more fans (VIEWERS) to the sport. We need Brian Shaw,Eddie Hall,Mark Felix involved .

He looked really sick at the Levan match a month ago. He wasn't himself. Something is going on with him and I really hope he can get healthy and rest.

He's been pulling a lot. It's good to see him taking a break I think he looks healthier. Seems really lean probably around 250-255. You can only go so hard on the pancakes at his age. Levan and others don't seem to give a shit about their long term health. He beat walking pharmacies like Ermes and Denis but Levan is so much bigger than they are. Does anyone know if Michael has ever pulled Matt Mask?

I think the problem is the weight. I don’t think 105 is easy for him at all. The real interesting thing here is that pulling out of the match runs against everything he was saying prior.

He HAS to face Genadi next. After the East vs West 12 press conference, it's quite clear Devon needs to avenge his LAST loss in my opinion. Just throwing this out there. If Devon were to ever face Levan again, it would have to be WAL rules. The King's move in the losing position might be interesting enough for Devon to possibly consider a 3rd crack at Levan. I don’t see why its any mystery? There’s really no need to beg the question, Devon made a video explaining exactly why he pulled out, where he was coming from & that he’s just taking a temporary hiatus/ much needed break. I don’t think his heart was really in the Dadikyan match… basically the guy just got done making an exhaustive multi-year climb up to very top of Mt Everest, and got all the way to the top for the 2nd time but still fell just shy of conquer the unbeatable final summit that’s been his ultimate goal… just needs a little time to get back that thirst to go climb the mountain again.

I've been saying for weeks and posted on a few pages that too much focus has been on Devon to grow the sport and that something would happen and it has. It hasn't killed the sport but it's taking the wind out of the sails for a lot of people.

After the match he gazed off into the distance and said that he's never had a vacation from armwrestling. I think he really did give his heart, body and mind to the Levan match and now the man's tired!!! Maybe a good break is EXACTLY what he needs! And if he ever has a chance to face Levan again then MAYBE ADD ON A FEW EXTRA POUNDS?!!! Using more rest as a part of his training could help with that too... And I'm sure if he quits smoking and uses edibles instead he could definitely pack on a few pounds! Also, at his age, I would QUIT ALCOHOL ALTOGETHER: WATER RETENTION!!! And if he does manage to put on weight then he should take what Levan said onboard and work on his side pressure.

I think he loves sharing his knowledge of arm wrestling with people around the world. He can travel the world doing clinics and spend time with his family. He’s finished a full military career and been one of the most dominant arm wrestlers in the world. I think he really wants to find the person that will dethrone Levan and keep the sport moving

He needs a little break and when he comes back he'll basically dominate 105 and 115. He'll have to go to SHWs again for hard challenges. I want to see him do more generic training in addition to his current regime and more direct bicep and side pressure. His hand and wrist were still getting stronger as well. Who knows what will happen with the additional training. And hey, more training may make him eat more and help gain a little weight. Who knows. But I want to see what that will do.

Devon is the reason why it sold so well. And he feels he betrayed his fans and is probably depressed. I would be too. The next event wont sell as well because Devon will not be there, that's what i think at the very least.

I think something happened right before the Levan match. He suddenly looked smaller and seemed to lack confidence with his mind games.

I think he's in need of a good rest. He has a lot of opportunities and they are bound to be entertaining and good for the sport

He probably put alot of overall energy into the levan match: metally and physically and putting that much into it and realizing how far off he is probably drained his motivation. I mean levan is pretty much like that with anyone but still. Hes been at the top and knows what its like . He probably realizes whats needed to beat levan and its not worth it... referring to the level of peds needed. I think he would find new motivation if he were to just go after left and right hand at the divisions below super heavy. Becoming champ at both with both hands would ne quite the feat and i think he has a good chance of doing that

I agree with you that he will probably be back sooner than even he thinks. But, in all honesty the guy has nothing left to prove. The guy's got accolades that rival even that of John Brzenks at this point. He was mocked and ridiculed for year by the Europeans for not facing them and then ran through almost all of them like a hot knife through butter. Some of which were nearly half his age.

"Building a west dream team". Suspect he is grooming Brian Shaw to take on Levan. It's obvious something is going on. With Shaw's fight canceled and Devin mentioned he was collaborating with Shaw this month.

He is at the tail end of his career, i think he might have another decade maybe two but it wont be at the same level or rate he has been. I would like to see him do whatever he wants, but seeing him as a coach is amazing and i think thats where his future is.

Nope! I think Devon has nerve damage in his right arm, why is it all of a sudden smaller than his left arm? His right arm has always been bigger than the left because of his training, now all of a sudden his left is bigger? Doesn't make sense, and you can clearly see it in Engin's interview with Devon and Levan when they were setting on the park bench....

The dude is mentally and physically worn out. He’s been one of the most active arm wrestlers for a long time. I think the weight cut was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Dude deserves a break. I’m honestly glad he’s going to be just doing what he wants, outside of competition, for at least a little bit.

I think he’s taking a break to reset his mind. I believe he’ll be back competing by this time next year.

Once Devon hangs up the arm AW is done with regards to mainstream imo. Nobody is ready to replace the old guard when it comes to personality. Devon, yourself and maybe Toddzilla are the dying breed. Eastern Europeans are like big planks of wood with faces and arms. Levan only has a couple more years if he wants to live past 50 after that they are all boring as f. Apart from Prudnik and he's done these days too. Same with the rest of the world from what I've seen. A bit like Snooker. Once the old guard retired it's just not the same. And AW is already tiny compared to snooker. Need some big personalities to start coming through.

Trying that hard against leading up to Levan and then battling levan I would imagine takes a lot out of you. Physically, emotionally and spiritually. Devon deserves some rest

Devon is probably injured after Lavan blew him away for the second time after all the drama he created and ended up being absolutely destroyed by Levan, he’s taking a break to healed up, but of course he’s not gonna admit that for a second time around.

Off subject a tad, but not really. :D We know Brian Shaw has insane grip strength. Does that mean his pronator is already insanely strong. A strong pronator can improve your grip strength. I mean is it even possible for Brian to get stronger grip strength than he already has. lol
