*I absolutely love this tool!!! The first one was defective and Dewalt replaced **MyBest.Tools** More bulky than the Bosch and Makita corded palm routers I have but worth it. Nice solid base*

This was by far the best overview and “tutorial” on this specific router, especially for a newbie woodworker like myself. Excellent details and thorough explanation on how to use it. 👍🏻

Thank you for your review. I like your presentation also the fact that you told in which country the router was manufactured, help me to make my choice of getting the router. Thank you once again.

I have that DWP611 kit and if it were the last one left in the world I wouldn't take $500.00 for it, but maybe $1000.00 could buy it. I like it so well I had Pat Warner make custom baseplates for both the fixed base and the plunge base. It is a State of the art router kit as you can see from the demo.

Ken B I like it as well. The only beef is I haven't been able to find an offset base for it.

What is the biggest bit that can be used with the plunge base ? I mean the diameter.

Great Review - Thanks for sharing! I just bought the cordless model router and was considering the "Plunge Base". After watching your video, I think it would be a good investment!

EXCELLENT review. My only complaint is it would help more if the camera were closer when you show what buttons / levers do what.

Great review. The 611PK is cheaper now, at $172 from Home Depot. That brings consideration though. The 1-3/4 HP kit is $15 cheaper, and the 2-1/4 HP version is only $30 more and comes with a hard case. At today's prices, would you still recommend the small router or would you step up?

This is a great review and just what I needed to see. You also showed how its used and since I have no router experience, I needed that very much! My question is... would you buy the larger 2.25 HP Dewalt Router which uses 1/2 inch shank bits, or does the 1.25 HP Dewalt Router with 1/4 inch shank bits serve all your DIY needs to date? The one you demoed got high marks on Amazon and sells now for $159 with the fixed base, router, and plunge accessory. The 2.25 HP sells for $229 or $265 (large kit), but got some bad reviews probably due to being built in China? So the larger one makes me worry about quality. I just want to know if you find that you need a bigger one and should have bought a 1/2 inch shank router instead, now that some time has passed. Many thanks for your excellent review! Much appreciated.

+Lass-in Angeles If you only have one router I would get a larger general purpose router that accepts 1/2" bits. They have significantly higher rigidity an produce better cuts. I dont have any experience with the larger Dewalt however.

+Toolamanjaro Yes, you are quite right! That is my philosophy with tools too. However, the larger Dewalt 2.25 HP Router received very bad reviews on Amazon, and the smaller 1.25 HP Router you demo-ed received rave reviews. In the larger Router there was an issue with the motor burning out. I suspect its a country of manufacture (China!!) defect. I will speak to Dewalt about this and see if they fixed the issue,

You left out the most important part of the review. How the depth adjustment works. That's why I watched your video. The depth stop adjustment is driving me nuts. I don't know if it's factory messed up or I'm not seeing the obvious. If your going to do a review the most important detail is how to adjust the machine not it has nice rubber handles and the cord is heavy duty. Sorry just annoyed that your review did not contain the most omportant detail.
@tkarlmann
@tkarlmann 8 лет назад
Not a word about a micro-height adjust. I guess it doesn't have one. No word either on an accessory to afford operation in a router table -- with a height adjustment from the top.

tkarlmann Why would anyone put a trim router in a router table?
@skeeterjames912
@skeeterjames912 5 лет назад
@@ThekiBoran they sell a little table for it on Amazon. I think it'd be okay for someone who does primarily small jobs, such as trim and light woodworking projects. And maybe they occasionally fight through a bigger job with it. No one wants to Shell out 800$ for a decent setup that'll take up a lot of room and rarely get used. As always, right tool for the right job.
@ThekiBoran
@ThekiBoran 5 лет назад
@@skeeterjames912 I suppose they're out there but I've never seen a trim router in a table on a jobsite.
@skeeterjames912
@skeeterjames912 5 лет назад
@@ThekiBoran yeah I can't imagine you would. I don't think this tool is really marketed that way. I think it could be a handy little tool for a contractor to use for special applications like tight areas, flooring install, quick trimming...etc. but I think it's primarily aimed at consumer level customers.

Thanks for commenting on something I asked about almost a year ago. My question was already answered by toolmanjaro, but since you feel the need to nit-pick, I'd be interested to know at what point in the video he explains that, because at the 6:45 mark when he comments on the flat top being good, but offers no explanation why it's good. If it's mentioned elsewhere in the video, I guess I missed it, so yes, feel free to tsk tsk someone for asking a simple question.

I know how much you like people 'nit-picking' you on year old comments, and since you failed TWICE over 2 years to notice, he says so at 51 seconds.

Why not make sure that you are truly saved by Jesus Christ and practice this way. Remorsefully confess with your heart your sins to Jesus Christ who is God and tell Him that you right now are repenting of your sins and you want to be born again of the Spirit from above. Tell Jesus that you are remorsefully sorry for breaking His commandments and that you are begging for forgiveness from Him. Allow His blood from the cross to wash away your sins. After this is done with your heart successfully the Holy Spirit will come to live within you and He will rebuild you from the inside out. Look for signs that you are saved. Things like spreading the good news from Jesus, getting other people saved, a craving for the word of God, reading the Bible, etc… These things are known as a calling and fruit bearing. If you're not bearing fruit then keep doing it. Sometimes it takes time to get saved. Read Matthew chapter 13 from the King James Bible. God bless!!!
