I’m 34 now, and to this day this is the one toy I’m gutted I didn’t have as a kid. My mate John had one, and I remember vividly going to his house, ignoring him and just watching this go round on repeat!

Thank you for making this video. This is one of those toys I haven't played with (or even thought about) for nearly 30 years. Then I somehow got reminded of it when thinking of Christmas ideas for my 3-y-o son who is crazy about construction vehicles etc. Now I'm finding these videos to show my wife so that she knows what to expect from my parents' visit tomorrow (since it turns out they still had the Big Loader in the closet back home!)

I had this as a child (and loved it), but in retrospect, this toy is pretty much the epitome of "Passive Play"...

@@downfromtheattic I work in the toy industry today (look up "Luke's Toy Factory"), and one of the things I set out to do when designing the toys I make was to ensure that children playing with my toy trucks have the complete opposite experience (one of "Active Play")

Uhhhhh criminally underrated. Linked to this from the nostalgic "Big Big Loader" commercial, have never heard of your channel. Now absolutely subscribed, I love your enthusiasm and energy. I can't believe you don't have heaps of subscribers from nostalgia seeking people like myself.

I remember owning the original Big Loader as a child. My parents would set it up and me and my sister would both stare at it for ages. Unfortunately, it broke, so we had to throw it away before we moved house.

We just unearthed our Big Big Big Loader from an old toy chest in the basement. Put it all together and it still works! The cats are fascinated by it.

just picked up both sets first one i knew as a kid but never had and just found it at a thrift store! all pieces in the box! then i found out about the big big loader and how it attaches to the first set found a good one on ebay and now its on its way! the engineering is fantastic!

You're right, and I do like the theming of that set, especially the engine shed. One of the minor complaints I have with this set is that you see the motor when it switches from the dump truck to the scoop, the Thomas one hides all that, think it makes that more special

I have the big loader the big big loader and I have all the Thomas ones I would sit there for hours and never get bored watching them do there rounds and go around again

Hi there, my son had this and would play for hours. I recently got it out of storage fro my grandson but as the box and instructions are missing we have no idea how to put it together. Can you help please. Thanks

Hi Vicki, I wish I could help more but I lost my instructions long ago too. I always tend to start with the pieces that feed into to the elevator, there's a ramp up and the piece immediately out of the lift has a slot at the back for the green supports, the scoop clips into the front. The curved piece with the teeth clips into the that large blue piece and the spiral. My best suggestion is to pause my video and try to assemble from my screen grabs. One thing to make sure is the metal piece that plugs in for the yellow scoop machine, make sure that's pressed down all the way otherwise it can send the machine a bit nut :D
