Is a Custom DiabLew Tune worth it? After 4 years and 50k miles of daily use and abuse in my 5.3 Chevrolet Silverado, I have gotten a pretty good insight on how good this product really is.
I emailed Lewis Eaton in mid 2016 and bought a Custom DiabloSport Tune for 150 Dollars for my Diablo inTune i2, and has worked flawlessly ever since.
Lewis Specializes in Custom DiabloSport Tuning for GM Chevrolet GMC Vehicles.

My Chevrolet Silverado is a 2015 with the L83 5.3 Engine, 6 speed 6L80 transmission and 3.08 gears.

i have been using him for custom tunes on several of my vehicles.im very happy with his tunes, top notch customer service as well. you cant beat it for the money.

Thanks for the video, I’m looking into the diablew tune and this explained it perfectly, never knew a Silverado turns into a race truck the way you drive😂😂 awesome vid man thank you

Thanks so much for this video. I have the i3 on the way for my 2015 5.3 denali with the 3.08s. Have basic bolt ons intake and borla exhaust going on tomorrow. One thing I've always hated about the truck is the 3.08 gears. Looks like your truck gets up and goes very well. Im excited.

Tyler Hooyer I have a love/hate relationship with my stock 3.08s but the truth is that my truck is too fast for my brakes if I really push it. Shorter gears will just get me in trouble LOL

@@BadAssEngineering true haha. I found that just the 87 tune with the i3 helps coming to stops a bunch with the little bit of added engine breaking when it drops the gears. Before I had to get the brakes decently hard.

Thanks for the review. Had a Diablo on my last 5.3 and didn’t care for it. Just picked up a 2015 5.3 Z71, I’m planning on the Airaid MIT, JLT Catch Can, Black Widow Race Venom Muffler, and a i3 sent to Lew. Also going to do a motofab 2.5”/2” level kit, with 285/75’s on the stock 18’s. Your truck is very badass. Love the way it sounds and that you use it

I actually have this exact set up for my 18 sitting in the house ready to go on 😂 race venom muffler, jlt can, airaid mit with drop in filter and the level kit.. I’m about to buy the tuner as well! Thinking bout if I want long tubes or not

@@devinharding144 I just added the level, JLT, MIT, and an AEM drop in, still deciding on exhaust, and decided to do a local tune instead of Lew since I’m lucky enough to live close to LS guru’s, lol. I thought about long tubes, the only ones that were affordable and didn’t sound “tinny” like the speed engineering or TSP were the Doug thorley tri-y’s. I’d advise against headers, just another place to leak.

@@jamesyork6023 yeah still on the fence about it.. I’ve already got the race venom exhaust so looking forward to putting that on! I’ve got a local tune guy that does great work but Lews tune is nice for the fact that you can re download stock map and dealer not being able to void warranty for it

@@devinharding144 yeah that’s true. I had a glass pack on my 16, muffler guy wants to do it again and I’m really wanting a race venom but he says it’s a waste of money and I’m trying to stay cheap. So we will see lol

Hahahaha I love your analogy of giving the engine a lil yayo 🤣 My tune from lew has been amazing had it on my 5.3 for about 6 months just have CAI and 3" single cat exhaust at the moment, found your page trying to find more information on the speed engineering LTs, my only worry is they might make the truck too loud which I dont mind but my wife might kill me, but from your videos it doesn't seem like it is that bad, maybe she will enjoy it lol!

Any fully synthetic is great, i buy use the stock AC Delco Gen 2, which i buy in bulk from the dealership

On a vehicle still under warrant, are you able to take it back to stock with no signs of tampering if you need to take it in for anything?

Hey man you think if I put long tubes on my 05 5.3 does this tuner let you put the stock tune back on and if I need to take them off for smog will the smog place detect of the computer being tampered with this tuner?

You can switch back to stock as easily as tuning it, I don't think they can check for the ecu to have been tampered with

Gas must have been cheap in Venezuela at the time of this vid. I returned my Tahoe 5.3 to stock when gas hit 4.90 in Washington DC. I drive slow now.

i have the same exact truck 2015 single cab with 5.3L...how is your transmission? Is it giving you any issues?

@@BadAssEngineering Nice i've had mine for 3 years but my engine light came on due to transmission. It only has 50K miles and the mechanic said it was weird that the engine light would come one, i'm wondering if its the mod that input some years ago. Anyway love the sound of your truck i'm still debating to lift it slightly.

I changed my Transmission Fluid and filter at like 40k miles, just to freshen it up. Also, if you have a stock exhaust try wraping the exhaust pipe that goesn under the transmission with header wrap; that will make the fluid take longer to heat up, extending the fluids life. That exhaust pipe literally cooks the transmission from the pan
