What happened to your air filter that you have to rinse clean every once in a while? I had the same one for 13 + years, it saved me a lot of money compared to my 1960 heaters in my condo. If you keep the air filter clean you do not get dust or hair in it
I have the same unit and I was getting just luke warm output. When I took the metal plate loose and checked the three tubes, only one was heating. I replaced the tubes and it puts out a nice, warm heat and is very quiet. I believe I would have checked those instead of unhooking the board. Very easy.
An Amp probe and a vom are needed as well as a basic understanding of electricity and as well an understanding of the board function is necessary. Another case if tinkeritus
Um... I know that you have no idea of who I am or what I do to make a living. I'm sorry this video was disappointing for you. It was for me too, mostly because the issue was resolved without any clear findings. I definitely tinker, happily. It lets me try things and work on diagnostic skills. I have a pretty good track record, but again, it's not something really shown here. Also, "VOM and Amp probe"? My last analog VOM died from old age, and I have a few different devices for either contact or non-contact current measurement, including a set of calibrated resistive inline loads capable of up to 300A. None of those were necessary. It's a cheap-ass infrared heater that most likely had a corroded connection that was able to re-make contact when it was disturbed by my tinkering. If it was a critical piece of equipment, I'd very much be delving into root cause, finding a solution, and implementing it. As is, it was just a disappointing video. I'm glad you watched it and commented on it. I am trying to improve, and feedback does help.
No offense intended. We go to these repair videos ASSUMING you know more than I do about these units. I am not sure you do, and I know next to nothing.
