I'm going to start setting up for my Heaven and Earth Designs Project. I might change the way I do it a few times, but join me while I figure out my options.
I am new to DP but already have a few kits on the way! I'm also new to your channel! I am catching up on all of your HAED videos as your work your way through your massive project! I cant wait to see how far you come so far! Thank you for sharing this process with us!
I love this project and these videos, Rebecca! I really appreciate you sharing all of the "boring" bits, lol. I am looking forward to the delayed videos and watching the whole process. I'm even thinking about doing this one myself, as I just love fairies and trees... beautiful selection. Anyhow, thank you again for showing us! Have fun!!!
@@addmorezest You talked me into it! I am going to order the stuff pretty soon. I have a lot of extra drills to be organized. I think I told you I got the setup from one of your other videos, but I had a hard time finding cards to separate them. so now that I found the cards, I have a mess... I can work on it while I wait years for my canvas.
YEAH!!!! *Dances as has a friend joining me* You can work on getting the spares you have for the design marked on the chart as you put them away. (makes it a bit more interesting) BTW the card I used was just standard white card cut down.
Hello, oh wow! That looks so complicated but interesting. I'm so bad at numbers. Believe me it's not your fault I got confused. Will definitely enjoy this journey. Jesus bless you and yours,Lin ✝️🐶🐶🐶🐶🐢🐦🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎💖🦒🐧🐲🤗
How many colours??? LOL my HAED that I cross stitched only had 75 colours and I thought that was a lot!! I'm glad you are doing this as a series of videos as you go through so I can watch and see and learn for when I decide to do one! 💖🤗
This pattern is 239 colours!!! I could have taken the option to do it in 90 colours but then I wouldn't have been able to spread them out over my spares. I don't think I'd even attempt this stitching. I'd forever be doing one stitch at a time. Keep watching and keep learning, many more videos to come.
I’m still playing catch up on videos, but it’s so great to see you getting started on this painting. I remember when you were collecting drills for this lol. Can’t wait to see the process as you go along. Tfs, til next time!!!!
This is the first time I've seen anything like this, tho I have seen "HAED" mentioned elsewhere and never knew what it meant. So am I understanding this right? You are taking what was originally a Cross Stitch design and turning it into a Diamond Painting, using your own drills that you have leftover from other diamond paintings? Why not just order those super "447 color drill packs" from AliExpress that is suppossedly every DMC color? Or did I misunderstand what you are doing and that the point is actually to use up leftovers? LOL! This looks like a monumental amount of work and more than I think I could take on, but WOW I'm really impressed with your goal!
You're pretty spot on. I am using a cross stitch design to do as a diamond painting. I *am* trying to use up leftovers that's why I didn't buy drills specifically for this project. I have been tempted by the drills of all colours but as I'm trying to use some up, I don't want to end up with more left over than I started with. It is going to be a pretty big project but I'm always up for a challenge. HAED stands for Heaven and Earth Designs which is a company that sells cross stitch patterns.
@@addmorezest ty so much for explaining!! I wish you the best!! I've been thinking of what I will do with leftovers and have a few ideas, tho nothing close to the scale you are doing! Much respect!!!
I think this is a fantastic idea!!!! You have inspired me to do this as well. I was so fearful of the size, price and complication of a haed that I didnt want to do one. But using the left overs does cut down on cost and makes you step away to get more colors from other paintings. Love it and look forward to seeing more in the future.
Thanks, I'm really happy with this project and how it's turning out. It's a big project but so worth it. Also only paying for the canvas and chart cuts the cost down considerably and you can buy separate drills if you need to. Just check the chart you get doesn't have loads of shading in a big area that using spares might affect. (ie the skin tone on a large face), as if you have different shades of spare drills it might show more.
How do you find an image sheet like that with all the symbols and colours needed produce the image? I’m thinking of just buying a blank canvas but I can’t find an image sheet like that .... could someone help me ? Thank you!
I made this sheet from the PDF for this design. I've got a video on how I did it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IyvdSJM2tAo.html
Hi. I use a photo box to hold my spare drills. I have a video on it; showing how I put it together along with all the sizes here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h7F1hJv5fdo.html
Hi...I haven't done any DP but ordered several kits that should arrive shortly. I have a question please... I'm assuming most DP have the DMC numbers for the colors used. Wouldn't it be OK to just have a bunch of containers with all the DMC numbers and then fill these containers with the drills from different sellers. Are the colors that much off from one seller to the next that the drills can't be mixed up, even though they have the same DMC number?
HI and welcome the world of DP, you're going to love it! Most DPs do have the DMC number on them, either the canvas or the packets the diamonds come in, some can be mixed as the shades are the same or similar; however some do vary from seller to seller. So I tend to use the ones that come with the painting for that picture, and then keep the spares from each. For this project I'm going to use up those spares, but I chose an image that I'll get away with a slightly different shading in the non dark colours.
Edit: ok, I'm not going to do this, at least not right away. I will start with some nice kits, so that everything is already gathered and organized for me. Ignore the rest: Ok, I am totally going to do this, letting you work out all the kinks first, lol. I will do the same design because I love it, but with just 90 colors. My ceiling is not tall enough. I will make a thick black border from fabric to finish the edges, and it will hang from the ceiling, to the wall, then down. Since, you know, it's a tree. Anyway, do you need a special program to cut and paste from the pdf? I earn money by making things, and I'm really slow, so I'm not sure how long it will take me top kit this up.
It is a big project so I agree you should only do it when ready. There are so many nice kits out there to choose from with everything included. In reference to cutting and pasting from the PDF, I used the free version of PDF expert.
I've got a video on creating the labels here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IyvdSJM2tAo.html this worked for a chart. A kitting up video I have coming up between Christmas and New Year shows me using the sticker machine with a preprepared kit.
I’m sorry if I missed it in the video but how did you make those stickers..... I know you said in Pages.... but you put the color, symbol and number...... how did you that part?
I used a PDF editor to 'cut' the symbols and colours off the chart. I then pasted them into little circle templates on pages and printed it on sticker paper.
Hello! I’m so excited to see what this is going to look like. I’ve wanted to try something like this too...however what do you do when you have the half stitches? Is there a system that you will use to choose a specific color?
