Hi there! I stumbled upon your channel after ordering my first DP and I'm eagerly awaiting it, so in the meantime, I'm watching your playlist of this process!! Using a cross-stitch pattern is something I would absolutely LOVE to do! Your channel is amazing and so fun to watch all your different videos! I was just wondering, is it just HAED that offer the cross-stitch patterns like this, or can you use any cross-stitch company's pattern and turn it into a dp? Thanks so much, and I love your channel!
I know this is a couple of months ago but i am so excited to see how this turns out .. I have soo many HEAD and it really didnt occur to me to use it as a pattern for a DP. What kind of scares me is where to buy the *clear canvas like yours and also where to get the drills etc.. . Being in Australia i really need to look at money but not going so cheap that its crap LOL . Again love watching your vids
You've got a few videos to watch then. :) The canvas for this I bought on Ali Express, which ships to Australia too and I'm sure your conversion rate is much better than the £ at the moment. Check out the HAED Diamond Painting facebook group too as they are so helpful.
I’m really excited to watch your progress! I think I might try this someday. I have a question. Have you thought about using a highlighter to mark off when you have completed an area? It might go quicker than the pencil. 💕
Hi Sue, thanks for your nice comments. I hadn't thought of a highlighter to be honest, I'll have to see if I can find a thin one as for some I'm only colouring in one square and they're small. I'll see what I can find next time I'm in a shop that sells them. Thanks for the suggestion.
I bet you couldn't tip out exactly 100.diamonds a 2nd time LOL If you don't mind me asking where did you get the blank canvas from...was it a particular store on AliExpress...you may have mentioned it before so forgive me if you have. I am so excited to do my own HAED now 💖🤗
I would rather bet I definitely can't tip out 100 diamonds. I got the canvas from the Kami Yi Good store on Ali express. I've got a link to it in my canvas unboxing. (I think). Glad someone else is going to do a HAED along with me too.
I am excited for you to place the drills - don't know why I'm so excited! I don't have the patience to do this sort of project, although I love diamond painting! I know this will be amazing when you finish it! Looking forward to more videos. Thanks for sharing!
You're excited, because I'm excited and because it's an exciting part of the journey. LOL Live through this project with me and you can feel like you've done it too. :)
I've learned that I'm a multiple tray person - I've got MS and weak hands and even if I loved only having one tray at a time I needed to go back to multiple trays. My hands got so tired and I couldn't "paint" for as long as I wanted at a time. Thank you for insights! I really want to do a conversion. When I was in younger I did cross stitching so my fingers and brains screams "do a cross stitch conversion. (And since I love sorting I would love to have a big batch of drills to sort 😝)
Hi. I’m so glad I found your channel. Quite awhile ago, I purchased an absolutely humongous HAED diamond painting - it’s 160 something by 190 something big. Yah, I don’t know what I was thinking. And I ordered all the drills for it too. I have no idea when I’ll even get to it as I have so many others that I want to get done before attempting to even start it. I love how you created the stickers for the tops of your jars. Could I do something similar in MSWord? That’s the program I’m most familiar with.Anyways, I love watching you work on this. I’m especially nervous about it because I was not good at counted cross stitch. No matter how careful I thought I was, I still somehow ended up counting something wrong and I’d have to go back and correct things. Needless to say, I gave up on counted cross stitch. LOL.
I'm so happy I could help you. The stickers could be made in word in a very similar way, (if not the same). I have a video to follow along with how I did it so you can see for yourself. The app, pattern keeper really helped too. If unsure, start with a 10x10 square and only do a bigger section when your confidence grows.
Aaah, I can’t believe we’ve started lol. So very relaxing watching you do this painting and the whole process to this point. Can’t wait to catch up and see where you’re at. Tfs, til next time!!!!
Hello, I'm so sorry. I have a couple of squirrels in my head and I can't remember your name. I just love listening to you while working on my diamond painting and the same time watching you starting your project. Why do I have a feeling it will be done before we know it. I'm definitely going to have to watch the charting part over again though. Have fun doing this one and thanks for letting us join in the journey. Jesus bless you and yours,Lin ✝️🐶🐶🐶🐶🐢🐦🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎💖🦒🐧🐲🤗
Hello squirrels, my name is Rebecca. :) Thank you for your lovely words, and yes, I'm sure it will be done quicker than I think or maybe even want it to be. I'm hoping to work on it some more this weekend. I'll do some updates on things I've done/learnt along the way too.
Hi Rebecca, I find the project very interesting and would like to do it myself. Unfortunately, on the Heaven and Earth page, under the category charts by artist, I only find templates for embroidery. Can you tell me where I can see Diamond Painting? I thank you before.
I am so wanting to try this. I love cross stitching and I love to diamond paint, I am just trying to educate myself on the steps to get started and how to proceed and most importantly, the best way to pick which pattern to choose as far an a mini, supersized, etc. I don't know all the correct jargon yet for the HEAD patterns with the less or most numbers of colors, etc. Also Can you tell me if the canvas you purchased is a double sided tape or poured glue? I am assuming it's double sided tape, since it has the opaque cover, but wondering if it would make any difference which one I pick.....Any advice is appreciated. I plan to watch all your videos on these, and have watched several of the ones from the beginning. Thanks!
I used double sided tape, there is a company that does poured glue; however, many have said they don't like it as much for a HAED. I have a video on a lot of it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6qlRII9iRRg.html
This will be beautiful when done but wow the task of doing it. A question will you wait until you need a big order of drills to complete a area, and where will you get a bulk order like that. Ok more than one question and I’ve never did a custom.
Hi Tee, I have just ordered a couple of colours for the big areas and I got them from Ali Express as they are sold in pots of 2,000. Some sellers will also let you order certain amounts in bulk too. If you ordered a custom from a seller they would print the design on the canvas for you and send the drills with it. I'm just doing a cross stitch pattern as I like to do things the hard way. :)
stupid question but I am new to this and just started watching and puzzled as to why there is a paper chart and the canvas is blank (no symbols on the canvas)? Is this how you bought it? I never knew that you could get a blank canvas to place the drills on and then work from a paper chart.
Not a stupid question at all. I'm doing a cross stitch pattern in a diamond painting. You can purchase blank canvases (I got mine from Ali Express) and I'm using the cross stitch pattern to know where to place the diamonds. I've since upgraded to use an app for tracking the chart, but both work.
@@addmorezest thank you. wow, I knew I could do a cross stitch from a diamond painting but not a diamond painting from a cross stitch. learn something everyday.
I found one of these containers on CESDEALS (previously Newfrog) for $18 Canadian.... Which is at least $10 cheaper than anywhere else! Might save you some money of you want all 4 cases to hold all of your colors. I actually already have my spare drills in separate little containers so I would be all set to go 😊
WOW, that's not bad. It's not looking that cheap anymore from what I can see. I have picked up one more case so I'll be good for a bit but I'll keep an eye on the site. Thanks.
Hi and welcome to the craft! I have some hung in my home, some I've given as gifts and some are just in an art folder waiting for their forever home. I do it because I love it and if they go up on the wall too it's a bonus.
I really want to do a diamond painting with a counted cross-stitch pattern. Just haven’t found the ‘right’ pattern. Thank you for sharing your experience with this process.
Thanks, it's going to be an exciting and long project that's for sure. The labels just peel off when I'm done as they're on with sticker paper. (I didn't get permanent)
Was this design specified as a diamond painting by HAED, or have you branched out on your own? I think I might like to do this one, but I've only just now started watching your videos, so I don't know yet how this goes along.
Hi, this is a cross stitch pattern from HAED and I'm completing it in a diamond painting. There is even a facebook group for it as it's become so popular.
I bet you’re thrilled to finally be placing drills on your project. I know I am. It’s coming along nicely. Why did you decide to do it with square drills? Do you prefer square over round?
Yes, I am definitely thrilled. I'm wanting to work on it all the time! I've done it with square drills as I'm working on a blank canvas and the white would show around the round drills more. But while I have a soft spot for square diamond paintings, I like round too and also do them from time to time.
I’ve never done an HAED , you sure do make me want to do one. Do you get the drills, canvas and the patterns well the whole kit I sure say from them? When you click on an image it says canvas only no diamonds is the pattern already printed on the canvas?
Yeah - Join me!!! I just got the paper pattern from HAED. They do printed canvas' but they're not cheap and they don't contain the drills. Best going to the HAED Diamond Painting group on facebook for information on how to order all the bits.
4kidsat147 - Diamond Painting & Scrapbooking alright thank you . If you do another one will you video the whole process when buying pattern, drills and canvas and etc.? Thank you
Hi Angela, if I do another complete one yes I will. For this one I did only purchase the chart and the blank canvas (I have an unboxing of the canvas in which I explain how I ordered it). I am more than happy to answer questions though, and I will do video updates where I answer all the questions.
4kidsat147 - Diamond Painting & Scrapbooking thank you very much for all the help. You didn’t put the chart on the canvas right ? Your just working off the chart and placing your drills? Is it like any cross stitch find the center ?
@@PoohBah That's right, I'm working straight on a blank canvas. I didn't find the centre though as I'm using a canvas the right size for the design, rather than fabric which is bigger where you'd want it central to the large piece.
Hi Tess, I'm more than happy to share. I have it in pages format (not sure if it would transfer to word) or in a PDF. If you want you can email me at 4kidsat147 (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll send it over. :)
I absolutely love this pattern and want to make one! I don’t have enough of a stash to pull from so would probably just order the drills and canvas! Love how u printed ur stickers.....could u please share again how you did them. Thanks so much for such wonderful ideas and videos. I really enjoyed the wip and chat 💕
It's a great pattern, if you do it still check your spares too as many are small amounts with some colours, so you might not need to order as many. I'm hoping to do a video soon with a little update and I'll run through the stickers again as it's easier to say than write. :)
