Someday he'll come along The man I love And he'll be big and strong The man I love And when he comes my way I'll do my best to make him stay He'll look at me and smile I'll understand Then in a little while He'll take my hand And though it seems absurd I know we both won't say a word Maybe he'll come Sunday Maybe Monday, maybe not Still I'm sure he'll come one day Maybe Tuesday will be My good news day We'll built a little home Just meant for two From which I'll never roam Oh, what would you And so all else above I'm dreaming of the man I love Stephie Pahlavi Zan
I love her version of this song I wish she would also do a full version of Lady sings the blues, I like when singers sing the songs and not attack the songs this type of music you don't attack it like some other singers do brilliantly done Miss Diana Ross
Perfection.......Smooth........Angelic..........Flawless..........Beautiful......Soothing..........Calming.............Boy do I love this extremely beautiful Legend........Ms Ross never lets us down..........Patrick ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😇💯%
Bravo! this performance is incredible. Absolute Masterclass. The vocals, emotions, that orchestra! Magnifique! I love Her sensitivity to the emotion of the song is unparalleled
Thanks to Diana Ross' interpretation of Billie Holliday's music in "Lady Sings the Blues" an entire generation knows the words of the greatest jazz songs...
TRIPPY BECKY actually so do I .. DR's voice has a beautiful tonal quality all it's own. She made Holiday's music more pleasant to the ear. Holiday's voice was unique and had a raw quality to it.
whatigot2say so true the stylings of the 20-40's music is strange i.e. "Bessie" with Queen Latifah also the recent Lady Day interpretation by Audra McDonald. I wonder about the progression of music. Yeah guess I COULD Google it. ha
Streisand usually gets the votes for her version of these classic jazz songs, but in this case Ross has my vote on this one. Her rendition of this so much better than Barbra's.
tom dickerson Harmonica on the Kate Bush version is also interesting. Very unusual for Kate to do something like this, but she's always been multi genre.
That was truly a tragedy. A lot of musicians of that time met similar fates. The only major singer I know of who recovered from her addiction was Anita O'Day.
Fucking perfection!!!! I love Barbara, but she can't do this. I wouldn't want to hear Diana sing "A Piece of Sky" . This is the absolute unequaled version this song. bar none. Go Ms Ross!!!!
i thought the way the cops etckept going out of their way to destroy her ability to earn aliving there were lots of people doing dope hank williams was able to get a card that said was a registered opiate addict could have it in his posession . why didnt some try to get billie something like that? her singing was keeping her alive. being strung out is so difficult but then to have the pieces of your life that dope rule ripped away from you as if you dont deserve to be anything else besides a junkie. there were noy alot of women who shot dope in those days and it seemed like the system wanted to punish her for for finding a way to cope with the pain in her life .the system killed her not heroin.
