He's definitely not at the peak of his powers during the duel against the Gelb Team either. By the time of Mayhem, however, he's essentially a force of nature tho lol
I wasn't expecting the backwards-firing missile detail to be included, nor was I expecting that Cipher be put in a particularly perilous situation. Another amazing video!
Dear Nassault, thank you for animating one of the best moments in the ace combat franchise. I always get chills when I hear the people ringing the bell, crying for freedom in their city. 🔔🇺🇲
Same here. What a heroic sequence. The cheer of the citizens, the revolt from the people that can be heard from the radio, the music, it all comes together to form an amazing mission that is one of my personal favourites.
Still cannot belive you ACTUALLY used Gelb Mighty Force, always pictured it being used on your take of Diapason since I heard it and you did it justice Nassault!
Fucking love you, man! These make me so happy. As others pointed out, Pixy stepping in for Cipher is a great moment. I particularly loved the detail of him dropping the ordnance in preparation for the dogfight at 3:20.
Perfect mercenary run, 相棒)) Your ability to capture the theme of Ace Combat in a more realistic scenario is unrivaled, I've been waiting a long time to see your take on Diapason and I knew I would not be disappointed, keep it up!
so I was 15 years old playing this mission for the first time in a Gripen with rocket pods (the best plane I had unlocked at that point in the story), and the whole combination of radio dialogue and the music made me perfectly understand the tone and feel of the mission and I timed my rocket launches with the music, striking multiple ground targets at once. Instantly one of the most memorable stand-out moments in Ace Combat. It really felt like you were riding a wave of momentum, swept up in the events happening on the ground, and the crescendo in the soundtrack is joyous and energetic to match that. This video perfectly captures this, love all the details like the AC menu select and target lock sound effects, the backwards-firing missile gimmick, showing the Belkan officer in his helicopter, the map looks just like you would imagine Directus to look. Brilliant.
fun fact; Gelb means yellow in german, meaning that there's a possibility that Gelb team is connected somehow to yellow squadron. Or that yellow squadron is kind of likie the 8492nd in the sense that, instead of an osean squadorn comprised of belkans, its an erusean squadron comprised of belkans. would be cool
And an even better fact: there's an Ace called Erich Klinsmann, callsign "Reiher", who flies a Su-37 with Yellow 13's paint scheme. People believe the theory that he's a young Yellow 13, who would actually be Belkan (instead of Erusean), and just like Ashley Bernitz (Grabacr) and Michael Heimeroth (Ofnir), was shot down and went to another country to join their air force. Sure, it might be just a way for you to get a classic skin in ACZ, much how there's ace, callsign "Kon", who flies an F-14 in the Razgriz scheme, but I like that theory.
@@choppergunner8650definitely a "because video games" thing for the skin. However, I also like the implications, especially since it's only ten years between games.
Your aerial battles are getting WAY better. That jousting match between Galm and Gelb gave me chills. Everything from the music to the sound of the missiles shooting by when dodged was amazing. And the little detail of Pixy ditching his bombs and air to ground missiles for the fight was awesome. Keep up the amazing work, buddy.
Finally, Diapason my beloved hahaha. that backward missile still gives me jumpscare. If I was Cipher, my life would probably flash before my eyes. Excited for your next one. The Final Overture is an interesting one, I think. The music is underrated and the radio chatter is also unique. Absolutely fantastic video, Nassault.
How do you keep managing to out do yourself?! Every time?! No matter what you do?! Thanks Nassault. You keep my childhood alive and well. And you inspire us all with your many other works.
i like this kind of view of Cypher where he is still a potential pilot to be look at in his early days (before both Excalibur and Round Table where he earn his menacing title ofc) by making him do a little mistake and have to rely on Pixy like a teammate. Makes him feel more of a human.
Galm cosplaying Garuda for a bit, haha. And man, I still love how epic the ACZ boss squadron intros are. Great to see them portrayed like this. Was not expecting to see the funny Gelb backwards missile portrayed in a DCS cinematic, that's hilarious and awesome.
I am endlessly entertained by your videos. I did not grow up with Ace Combat in my childhood, but watching your videos inspired me to dust off my old PS2 about a year ago to then buy and play the original Ace Combat games one-by-one. Can't wait for the next video!
Man, seeing Nassault come back with another Ace Combat video is some of the best feelings I've ever had. Thanks for making our days, Nassault! Now time to wait for the slimmest chance of an Ace Combat 6 video
You ever see something so Nostalgic it makes you cry? This. This is it. Been with the series since Ace Combat 2 and you make a masterpiece out of masterpieces every damn time. Thank you !
One day my notifications will say "zero" and then all these buildings of immense emotions, Will come to their ultimate and final crescendo. Never Stop what you do. You have true talent. An Ace of your own right.
Excellent job as always sir. It's a pleasure to see what's arguably my favorite mission in the entire series come to life. There's something about the atmosphere, context, and the music that makes you feel so good as a righteous liberator.
It’s crazy how different the atmosphere between Diapason and Emancipation is when they’re practically the same thing, liberating an occupied allied capital where you’re engaged by an a enemy ace squadron and ends with the city’s liberation. But Diapason’s atmosphere is definitely special
My total respect and admiration for reliving a game from my childhood at times I wanted to cry because you revived one of my most favorite games, thanks and always keep going
This animation reminds me of my 14 years when I played on my old PS2, good old days when we didn't have too many worries... What an Animation dude! keep the exelent work!!!
Cypher not being invencible and taking damage was a really nice touch, as was the rear firing missiles on Gelb (on my first run of this mission that caught me off guard). Also I see that patch Pixy is wearing and I want it now.
This is a glorious recreation of one of my favourite Ace Combat missions! Thank you Nassault for investing so much time and energy into these spectacular works of art!
man, your production value has gone up since the last video! Comparing stuff like your old Emancipation video to this, it's almost like night and day. Also, lol, the backwards facing AIM-9. Damn you, Gelb, and your 360° firing QAAMs! And the scene of Cipher getting hit, but Pixy bailing 'em out! Stuff like that should've made it into the game, just to drive home the brotherly bond with Pixy before you-know-what. Although, I am a bit sad the G11 scene got cut, from what I can tell. Soundtrack absolutely killed it, with that Gelb mix! And lol the Atamonica patch. overall, very nice.
Ah yes, the squadron when not only had the Sukhois of last generation, *they start to throw you missiles even if youre behind of them.* A perfect squadron.
Nassault you have really inspired me to try my hand at ace combat dcs movies and I gotta say you are a wizard, I have no Idea what I'm doing but you make it look easy and in the process create masterpieces. I hope to one day be able to fly, edit, and record on your level.
Nassault also uses GTA V with a clearly unfathomable number of mods for many of the ground sequences, which obviously increases the effort that goes into these films but makes the result all the better.
It’s the same with how in the Comona Remake Mobius 1 shoots down a Yellow but canonically he damaged one and the they Bugged out. However these changes are fine and acceptable
Things I loved: Best representation of AC0's 'Jousting' I've ever seen Pixie had way more agency Cipher was shown to be mortal Excellent ground cinematography Things I hated: Too short. Excellent work as always, Nassault
Ok, this... Is awesome. The attention to detail, to the story, radio chatter, heck, even the shaking from the high G turns... I couldn't stop smiling and having goosebumps throughout the whole video. This is incredible!!!
I love these videos so much, it combines the games that i loved so much as a kid that got me into military aviation with my current favorite game. Thank you for what you do and keep up the amazing work.
I love this mission SO MUCH. The atmosphere is perfect and the music is PERFECT. It's the first time the leitmotif appears which makes sense because this is pretty much the first significant victory for Ustio in The Belkan War. Just wanna say THANK YOU. You've made my inner 8 year old me excited because I have so many memories attached to this game. ♡
Great recreation as always! Loved every bit of it, specially Cipher getting in a tight spot. However, I thought Gelb 1 was supposed to die in the game while Gelb 2 survives to tell the tale, yet both ejected.
The standard of quality is so high with Nassault that this little detail bothered me, too. I would have expected Gelb 2 to be the one shot down by Pixy and parachuting down next to the church in the final long shot. Canonically, Gelb 1 was supposed to die with his plane. I loved absolutely everything else about the video, though. (Edit: but it’s also true that Gelb 1 tells Gelb 2 to bail out, so Gelb 2 canonically gets shot down first and Gelb 1 second.)
@@riccardobalbo234 Oh, you're right--the first one to go down has no chute! That's better, then, so the only issue is that the wrong one of them was depicted as surviving. Good catch.
