I picked this one up and almost immediately installed BF. Not bashing Emu, it just wasn’t to my liking. I did have one issue that was causing me massive bouncebacks that I couldn’t tune out…CG. It’s tough to get CG right with the shorter leads on smaller 6S batteries. But once I extended my leads and got proper CG the bouncebacks disappeared and I’m mostly happy with the performance. I use your exact PID/Filter tune and run GNB 850 6S. I get about 5min of freestyle. To Diatone’s credit, they did warn me about the CG. The quad came with a little sticker marking the proper battery location for proper CG.

Good point! I had issues with the quad with the battery backwards as well.. That for sure has an impact on this one :) Cheers and thanks for sharing your experience with it! :D

@@dkieng could very well be! the quad doesn't like a backwards CG :)

agree, this thing is just so much fun, its like driving an Alfa Romeo, it doesn't go well .. but its just so much fun haha. 7:08 as for the low flying, just set throttle Expo, i have the Mid at 24% (its higher but the expo works batter if its lower) and then just add like 60% expo to it. that fixes the low throttle issues on 6S 16:28 yu can remove almost all of the static gyro filters with RPM and dynamic turned on, most of the noise comes from the motors and frame, wo the dynamic filters eliminate them perfectly.

Sounds great :D I think I'd get used to the throttle if I wouldn't be flying all kinds of different quads but expo would indeed also work :)

Awesome review, dude! Really nice! 😃 Yeah, this motor seems too much for this quad. Maybe a 1505 motor, instead of the 1404 other 3.5" quads use, but... I don't know . Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Thanks as always brother :) I actually have a 3.5" quad with 1404 motors here.. I like the Diatone setup better :D but well.. it makes for completely different quads really :) Cheers and have a good early weekend :)

Appreciate the video! Curious what props you would suggest vs the gemfan? I have some gemfan hurricane 3.5x2 props and experience the oscillations you mentioned.

Good question Kelly :) However I resisted the urge to try different props as I wanted test / review / tune the quad as it comes.. Soooo it would Not hurt I think to order up a few different kinds of props and see which do best... and then probably use my setup (so not stock BF)

Thanks for sharing, I have the same quad and I just converted to Betaflight but I can't seem to get the PID tune right somehow. Do you mind sharing your PID tune or CLI dump for this quad? Thanks

Howdy Daniel :) have you tried the setup I showed in the video? (around the 15:00 mark).. that worked out pretty well for me.. OR are you using larger battery maybe?

very nice i will try your BF settings when my F35 comes back from repair in factory. the rear right motor always get extremely hot until the coils start to change color. and it also spins very hard when i unplug battery and use my finger to turn the prop. very strange issue. there is no short circuit to the frame with the motor screws and no other obvious problem. no idea whats going on but it fly terrible now. i can feel the FC tries to balance out the rear motor. any experience what that could be?

I have not seen that problem and I'd say it wil be eighter the motor itself OR that 1 ESC.. Surely Diatone will solve that for you then :) was it hard / costly to get the quad back to them??

I have this Quad, im having issue where motor 1 isn't spinning correctly. I flown it once. I don't know what to do about this.....? is it a setting on BF. the motor doesn't have any damage. yeah not sure

hmmm that could be a broken solder-joint on the motor-wires.. have you checked that? Next option would be a broken / damaged ESC (part of the central board).. to diagnose that you will have to be able to solder (well)... Would you be able to swap out 2 motors?

Perrfectly possible yes.. the quad will have noooo problems with that but the tune Will have to be changed :$

I can't afford to keep everything I review around brother ;) the channel costs enough as it is :) BUT... physics don't change.. the PID's should be wildly different..
