Did Attack on Titan predict the biggest reveal about The Wall in ASOIAF? 

Attack On Titan predicted a LOT about asoiaf. Most of the predictions came in a rush in the final few episodes. Lots of it comes from Norse mythology. GRRM and Attack on Titan’s author share some inspirations. I think the biggest reveal is how Eren in Attack on Titan (corresponds to Bran in asoiaf) uses the Yggdrasil tree to see all of the possible timelines and create his preferred outcome by seeing into the past, even though it meant witnessing his own mother’s brutal killing.

And the fact that Isayama has stated that he is a fan of the ASOIAF series, maybe in his own way he has figured out how the series might end and it just so happens to be similar to AOT’s ending. Over time I’ve tended to lean towards theories like the ones put out by people like Michael. Some of the theories just make a lot of sense.

The “Attack on Titan wall theory suggests that Bran will cause a “Rumbling” as in AoT or a Ragnarok in Norse mythology. Bran corresponds to Eren in AoT, so his reasons for doing this will be: judging mankind, seeking revenge, protecting those for whom he cares the most. Like Eren, Bran will use the power of the mythological tree in order to create his preferred outcome from all of the possible timelines, even though it still means witnessing the brutal killing of his mother when he is young. In Bran’s Ragnarok or “Rumbling,” the terrifying beings that Old Nan warned us about will march south of the wall with the intent of wiping out most of humanity. The Ice version of “Burn them All”

ALL signs in text point to the fact that there ARE Giants and trees inside the wall. The giants were enslaved by magic-Ygriite tells Jon what's up. There is prolly more than just one tree-and all together the text implies the other trees are Sentinels. Everytime i think about the Wall, what Ygriite and Leaf and Nan all say about REAL Giants, etc-I can't help but think...They Might Be Giants! Wun-Wun is maybe a close second, but he is NOT a real Giant. Real Giants are going to be...VERY grumpy when they get woked up from being trapped asleep inside that f00kin wall...

When I read the title I thought it was going to be a lot more literal and would be about how Joramun's Horn would bring down the wall by waking the giants inside it.

I've been watching Michael's theories for a while and I have always thought about the Titans making up the wall being so similar to ASOIAF. It's certainly just a coincidence.

The Attack on Titan manga was definitely influenced by the tv show, the author of it would regularly draw background characters in the likeness of actors from Game of Thrones.

I just had a thought about Mirri Maz Duur (sorry for being off topic), but I always wondered about how to interpret the look of concern on her face. We are led to believe she was so confident and cocky originally because she thought Danny lacked the backbone to execute her, but I believe it is actually because she realized that some outside force was guiding Danny's hand through the performance of a ritual to hatch dragons. Mirri Maz Duur at least knows Danny never had the opportunity to be taught this kind of blood magic; the mere possibility of it happening never even crossed her mind until she realized what was actually at play in that moment.

My biggest issue with this idea is that it just doesn't seem to work logistically. The fundamental question is how the Wall maintains height while constantly melting, but the weirwood theory doesn't work to answer that question. Like with normal ice, melting occurs on the *outside* of the wall, so the only way this water could be resupplied is if the weirwoods' branches visibly stuck out of the ice in order to drip water back onto it. Interior weirwoods would have nowhere to put the new water. This is especially true if there are Others inside the wall acting like freezers, since it would be significantly colder as you get deeper into the wall. That said, if you did have the Others inside keeping it frozen, you wouldn't even need the weirwoods to supply extra water. It would naturally maintain it size via the water cycle in the same way a glacier does. In fact, given that the Wall doesn't seem to produce rivers or anything, it probably weeps less than a natural ice formation, which would support some kind of supernatural cooling.

Have you seen the movie "The Great Wall" - where a bunch of alien creatures overrun the great wall of china, they flood south until a hero blows the alien queen up with gunpower. of course gunpowder doesn't exist, but dragons do - so... it could be like that.

I know we don't know each other-but I REALLY want to run something by you regarding the Black Gate and Coldhands. I believe Coldhands IS Harren Hoare's brother. When Aegon lands and defeats Harren; Harren's brother is Lord Commander of the Watch. It's a but to type here, but there are SO many connects to names like Stonehand, Halfhand, etc. And The Hoares-aren't they related somehow into a line with the name of something hand? That is how reads to me. SO The Black Gate-WHY can Coldhands make it work? Basically any Brother of the Watch can make the Gate work if they say their words right? The NEXT question-realization is...HOW did Coldhands KNOW that Gate was there and how to use it in the first place? NOT because he was a Brother of the Watch; it is because he was a Lord Commander of the Watch. Just like BR was. And apparently at THIS time ONLY Lord Commander's know abot the Gate. It is a secret NOW- but NOT always! Remember the story of The Thing That Came In The Night? THAT is why THAT gate is now a secret at the Watch. Because ANY Brother CAN use it. ANY Brother can bring SOMETHING through IF they know about THAT Gate. Coldhands IS Harren Hoare's brother. And they DID kill him long ago, man.

Man, Season 8 killed GoT so hard for me and left so much mystery unresolved that it killed my fascination and geekyness for the lore and the why's of why everything is like it is in the north. I love the redemption of HoT and the revival of interest. But I'm still seriously disappointed in how everything was resolved. Holy shit I'm starting to remember. Fucking hell, DnD really did deserve the death threats lmao, how the fuck do you ruin your own carrier so bad to work on a mediocre Star Wars movie. Like seriously. Now I'm pissed again. There was literally so much interest and theories to the lore itself, like fucking hell. I have been in deep denial the past what is it? 5 YEARS over how much of a butcher they did. Like, I almost began to forgive them since it started to become clowdy.

By the way, I really recommend you watch AOT.
