Fun fact: when they were casting for the original 1993 Mario movie, at one point they considered DeVito for the role of Mario.

Did you know that DeVito was originally reached out to play Mario in the 1993 live action movie? Problem was, he turned it down, and with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Hanks also off the table, Bob Hoskins got the role instead.

If Danny DeVito doesn’t play Wario, i think Charles Martinet would be a good choice for Wario and here is why: 1: He was the voice of Wario in the games from 1996-2023 and has nearly 30 years experience voicing the character 2: in WarioWare Gold (2018) and WarioWare: Get It Together (2021) Charles Martinet spoke full sentences as Wario and fitted pretty well, he could do something simular in the Mario Movie 2 3: Sense he is now retired from the Mario games, he might have more time to voice more characters in the Mario Movies and Wario could be one of them.
