It's very odd. I have recently seen a brief TV interview with him in Hebrew on Sports 5 on June 16 this year, where he was quoted in Hebrew saying that "he thinks he's reached the head of the hierarchy with the Wizards (team) and that his teammates and management believe in him." Then, on draft day, his agent was also quoted as saying they had no clue about the trade until 50 minutes prior to the draft. In addition, Avdija twitted following the trade, where he put a black background and a message that read, “Dc u will forever be in my heart 💔”.

No they didn’t…you can’t keep everyone, you have to make moves that can get multiple players with high potential at each position instead of holding on to one decent role player…we find out that Beal was not a guy that can carry but they treated him as the face of the franchise…Beal had more talent around him than wall ever had and he still was carrying us..

Brandon, Deni didn't ask to leave. I know this from reliable sources here in Israel. While he was open to joining a contending team eventually, this year he was determined to lead the Wizards - that's a fact! They traded him away for Bilal, who is a solid but average player. I give this trade an F. Deni has been a winner for every team he's played for. The Wizards' front office is incompetent!

Not completely sold on this FO. They made a nice pick in Bilal but we got nothing for Tyus or Delon. Trading Gaff was ok since we got Sarr. Now this Deni trade, which I feel is very questionable. Why not keep him for at least one more year? Instead we trade him for a pick in draft that is not that great. If Bub pans out, fine, but at least you knew what you were getting with Deni and possibly more, and potentially able to trade him for a 2025 pick.

20:35 I don’t think Kuzma knows how inefficient he is at all and that’s why he continues to take all the touches and anywhere from 20 to 25 shots per game and get absolutely no one involved whatsoever. You can say that you’ve come to terms with the Deni trade right now because you’re seeing this young new core being advertised to you but in the end, Deni had absolutely no reason to be moved for Bub Carrington and the 2nd best of their 2029 picks😭🤣. What a joke. Deni translated to wins for this team. Kuzma translated to shots chucked up. Tristan Vukcevic had chemistry with Deni aswell. I saw those too going a long way. Kuzma is terrible for player progression because he still has yet to recognize his own role. I hope we can see Sarr fill in the holes of Vukcvics defensive game and vice versa for Vukcevic helping fill in for Sarr’s offensive lapses

Sad fact, there is not much interest in Kuzma, or Tyus Jones. After Bilal, the 2 most valuable players the Wizards have-had are Avidja and Kispert. Management wants their own guys and Will Dawkins seemed happy on Draft night to get Sarr, Carrington and George. So I give Dawkins a chance to make this team better. Dawkins seems knowledgeable and professional.

The one thing I like about holding on to Kuz is that it pretty much guarantees if they trade him this offseason OR before the trade deadline they'll get a 2025 1st round pick (maybe even more) which is supposed to be a deeper draft. Ntm.....Deni got us 2 first....Mikal Bridges got the Hornets five 1st round picks. To me that means that Kuz should get the Wiz atleast 2 first. In Dawkins, I trust. Wiz are definitely doing a COMPLETE rebuild.

I have seen videos after the trade. He was in shocked even after 30 minutes. The front office decided to trade Deni after they didn't get good offers for Kuzma. I don't think they planned to give Deni a bigger role in the team, so maybe a trade to Mike Schmitz team (one of Deni's big fan when he worked for ESPN and the vice GM in Portlant today) is better for his development.

Deni isn't stupid. He sees the OKC formula. This draft proved it. We have Bilal, a 6'9 wing ( former guard) surrounded with a SGA archetype, a Giddy archetype, a scoring 4, and a unicorn. Deni doesn't fit. The Wiz are 2 years from nasty.

Totally wrong Brandon - that rumor is from the FO. It's not an opinion/bet issue, stick to fact. Deni definitely was thinking that he was staying. You can be pro the move, commend FO getting value, But don't stick it on Deni. I get the business part, Bilal (unproven) keys... But don't whitewash the tanking-losing now mentality looking forward to future draft. If in 3 years wiz show playoff prowess - FO will view this as a win. Been watching B’ball for a long time - I don’t know what y’all see in Deni - he’s a decent role player at best ! those young boys on teams like the Thunder, Rockets and Timberwolves were eating him alive …. Deni would have a good game every now and then but he was never consistent … I don’t see him ever being a solid number two , three or four on a contender, he’s like a decent player coming off the bench - like a seventh or eighth guy off the bench !

Keeping Deni only makes you less likely to get Cooper Flagg. His moody and emotional ass was probably gonna get traded anyway eventually, so, it’s probably smarter to move him earlier rather than later. We all know the wizards have another 2-3 years of rebuilding, does anyone really believe Deni would stay quiet and not cause any issues during those 2-3 years? He’s a very dramatic guy who’s not afraid to voice his unhappy opinions

@@rsgomlftw i understand where you're coming from, I think that Deni was frustrated, because you had 2 players who threw 20+ shots a game with horrible %. And when someone seems frustrated i view it as someone who basically cares, and want to play a team game. Deni was not a good for DC from the start, they really started to give him attention when they started to tank, and the moment they gave him some freddom he started to actually improve. I view the wizards as a bad place to nurture players. one of the reasons why they didn't have 50+ wins in 40+ years, i do wish DC the best of luck, don't get me wrong, but the same time i think unless something really dramatic happens, and they get lucky with picks, it won't change much. Sadly, they moved Deni to a team that is the DC of the west.
