Locked On Wizards is a daily podcast on the Washington Wizards hosted by Brandon Scott, a DC Sports Analyst and a lifelong Wizards fan. Listen to Locked On Wizards every day for a look inside the Washington Wizards and the NBA. Hail to the Wizards. Part of the Locked on Podcast Network.
Bad and unintelligent take about every year Lakers begging the NBA for help for Lebron. The right take is every year all NBA teams try to make trades to improve their team. Trades are not just a Lakers thing rather it's every NBA team's desire. That would have been a more intelligent take.
Wizards is a tanking team for Cooper Flagg so why Wizards are concerned about defence and who the Lakers would be sending back in a trade, Expiring contracts should be the goal. Wizards are a losing team despite a Lakers trade.
Condolences to U dawg forreal forreal A good friend of mine from HS was murdered and I didnt find out about it until months later losing people is not easy at all keep ur head up homie
Ah man bummed to hear it’s possibly your last year - appreciate you out here. Sorry to hear about your bro man - RIP. But congrats on the business opps you got in the pipeline - do what’s best for you and the fam man!
There is a reason for everything… me as a Deni fan still listening to you and turned out i lost my son the same way you lost your friend. Totally understand where you coming from
I would hope Bilal would be required to play at least 1 or 2 games before going to France, but frankly with all those idiot French citizens trading burn Paris down why would the Wiz let Sarr and him go?
Summer league roaster yeah. Happy to still see you Brandon on locked on wiz. 😊 BTW I’ll never get over the Deni trade just like the Rockets after they traded Elvin to the Bullets. They got more for him than wiz did! I sure hope you stay Brandon, you get me to ask questions etc I’ve been big Bullets/Wizards fan. My best friend committed suicidal 12 years ago, it was awful, he had lots of children. I’m praying for you now!
NO they have no #1 picks worth Kyle and no players that would help the wiz. Why is Flagg rated so high? 6’9” and can handle the ball great? He could continue to grow and the Wiz might have 3 7 foot starters or 4… don’t compare him to Luca..he’s in better shame but I doubt if he’ll ever understand basketball like Luca does. Luca better learn how to eat right and soon. Injuries are beginning to slow him down. Can the new coach at Duke teach/develop like K did?
The question I have will his GoGo teammates actually pass him the ball? The GoGo last still had the very bad trait of it’s my ball get your own ball syndrome which BTW is death to development.
You can’t win all the time and Dawkins and Winger are due for some “L”s. If Tyus walks for nothing it’s an L but it isn’t horrible. In fact, if we could somehow keep Tyus as a back up, that would be cool.
Josh Robbins has an article in the Athletic posted yesterday. He said sources tell him that Tyus will likely not be back with the team and Malcolm Brogdan will still be on the team at the beginning of the season. He said the belief that they would trade Brogdan right away was premature and that Wizard executives see a benefit with having him on the roster. Makes sense since he has more experience than Tyus and can certainly mentor both Bub and Poole. Josh said the Wizards now have 4 PG with Poole, Carrington, Butler and Brogdan.
Sorry for the loss Brandon! I appreciate the heartfelt moment. I usually skip through the ads, but glad I happened to listen to that one. We all human…even the trolls
Who could’ve possibly guessed the whole “we’ll showcase these vets and flip them at the deadline” experiment wasn’t gonna work out. Just a wasted year of development when Davis could’ve had all of Shamet’s minutes last season.
Nah......Davis development was going to come from the G League. Other young players managed to get minutes. Davis got what he earned. Ntm Shamet played in ONLY 46 games. What did Davis do when Shamet was out.
Also worth noting the Wizards are all up against that first apron and for a team that is going to stink I am sure they want to avoid paying any luxury tax.
The Wizards should sign 25yo PF Paul Reed the 76's waived him despite how good he played last season If were trading Kuzma, Reed would be a nice addition he's a strong rebounder and a tenacious defender.
Would think the move on Kuzma, if it happens, would be for loading up in the 2025 draft and getting a high first round pick. What team expecting to have a bad season would the Wizards be able to deal with? Can Kuzma block trades to teams he doesn't want to go to. Didn't that happen with the Mavericks?
If I understand the rules regarding trading draft picks, a team is not allowed to trade their first round draft pick in consecutive years. Since the Lakers have already traded away 2025 they cannot trade 2026. I’m I understand that rule correctly?
