Sometimes, learning what we don’t like in things is more valuable than getting it right the first time. You’ll never truly know what you like and what is perfect for you until you earn it.
Im a 6 footer with the earlier 2016 fxsb twin cam. I love the thing, warts n all. I cant help but smile every mile I travel. 5 hours in the saddle no issue for me. If you're bike aint making you smile, it aint right for you. Go with your gut, trade it. Best wishes for the next one!
Ive been tossing around the idea of a Breakout since getting rid of my 2010 Dyna Wide Glide....Love that Chopper Stance and seating Position..(am 6ft)..Plus with the 117 it wont need a stage2 only a full exhaust system...
I had a 2018 Sport Glide with forwards... and 6" risers with 2" pullbacks. Even at 6'5", my lower back was hurting in 45 minutes. The bike was a lot of work to ride, compared to my BMW 1250 GS. I did put a Showa 57mm 4.5" rear shock off of a Fatbob, to tighten up the steering on mine, and it helped, a lot.
I’m glad the algorithm sent me your video. I own the Ducati Supetsport 950S and a Honda Fury. I’ve wanted the Breakout since I started riding. I love the Fury with that riding position. I test rode the Breakout but the $26k out the door price scared me off. Your bikes beautiful but I’ve learned that if it doesn’t fit you then it’s the wrong bike. It is beautiful. ;-) I’ll be following you to see where you go next.
Glad you found my channel and thanks for the follow! Yes, I agree 100%. Bike has to fit the person, plus we need to enjoy the process. Stay tuned for the next video. Coming very soon 👍
I have the same model. Same year. Im 5'7 145lbs. Prior to that had a 2017 street glide. I will say i love it and i have no complaints. I think it handles well. Alot better than a street glide. I think its all personal preference. I like low to the ground with no fairing. Handles well idk what this guy is talking about. I love mine and have put 5k miles on it. But its all personal preference.
I get those foot controls for sure. I’m the same height as you, same inseam. I also have a jacked back so being in the cockpit has got to be comfortable. I’m a new sub I’ve owned a 18 Fat Bob, 21 Sport Glide & now the Heritage. I love the Heritage! My hands are in a comfortable position as well as the foot controls. The wheel base is shorter and it’s extremely easy to handle. I’d recommend checking a Heritage I don’t think you’ll regret it😎
I use mine for riding to work which is the reason I bought it in the first place plus my little weekend running around. And I'm a short guy 5'8! I do avoid interstate rides though, the buffeting is bad around 70 which I knew it would be with no fairing. I do think about another Street glide though that 24 is looking real good👀
Remedies that are game changers. 14 inch Burleigh bars are power steering. Then 23 inch front wheel. Or 2 inch fork extension. Big differences. But I still have many handles her at times on certain corners.
@@gambietti thank you for you comment, I had to go through the history of Lenny's channel to find the Heritage videos - so all I need is a Reach Seat and the lower shock, awesome! I come from a continent on our planet called Asia where even the men are statistically short. Trying to find a Harley that I am confident on as a new rider has been challenging.
Also raise the suspension for rear by just an inch and you will find a much better handling bike. Performance machine makes a mid controls set for breakout M8. Harley has a leaner primary cover that will help reach to the ground.
Brother!! I have a 2023 BO and you inspired me to change the spark plug wires to Orange to match the Orange paint stripe on the tank, the ignitor cover, and the chin spoiler, and it looks awesome! SO THANK YOU! I would be willing to buy the exhaust (and hardware) you just put on your bike if you are willing to remove it before you sell it. Let me know how we can get in touch.
so what would you get next; different Fat boy or . I looked at the Kaw Vulcan S. but only 650 is lacking power for 2. Rumors of a Kaw Eliminator 900 would be great !
I agree with your review Lenny. Two ways I plan to correct your 2 issues is this: 1) Put some mini ape hanger bars to bring the controls closer to me. This will also add to the traditional chopper look. And, 2) I took a slow riding motorcycle course where feathering the clutch and rear brake make it possible to turn this thing on a dime.
I believe the Breakout is designed to be a bar hopper/ town bike for the "Bad boy" who has plenty of disposable income. even used these bikes are 15-20k. beautiful bike but not for my short stature either. Hopefully they won't tear your head off on a trade if you decide to make a change. Good luck!
Already traded her in. Not too terrible on the trade since I bought a bunch of bikes from them. God a new Road King. Posted a video on it recently. Check it out 👍
Can I buy the LA Chopper risers from you???? Trying to get these in the UK is near impossible, places either out of stock for ever and or don’t reply to your messages or emails!!
Yeah, NO… definitely not a comfortable seating position, no wind protection Yada Yada Yada… Road Glide ST (Fast Johnnie), or Street Glide ST… is best of the Harley line up… but Since he has Duc he shoulda tried a BMW R1250R, or BMW S1000R or XR…
Asia gets the 114 on the B-O to save money; for someoene. I see i'd have to bring the handebars back at least 6". All vdo's showed stretched out arms ! ; NOT comfy for me.
Its a awesome bike i got a new one 2024 i changed the bars put floor boards on and now its very comfortable to ride I liked it so much i went and got another one but i left it stock.I really love this bike in curves i can go a lot faster then on my Bones softail.
@@physical176 not necessarily looking for a sporty ride. I have a Ducati for that. I’ve had 5 Harley’s so, far from new to them 😀. We shall see what’s next 👍
your salesman didn’t do a very good job helping you pick out a bike that’s right for you. when i first saw the breakout i knew right away it wouldn’t be a good ride for most people
