Thank you for the review Jay. We will look forward to see reviews from folks with the gloss version to see if it fits more flush. Since with our own examples. The Gloss version does sit better than the Matte version which at the moment still baffles us as to why it is the case.
Thank you so much for the heads up. I was not aware that this was even a product that someone was making. I am so happy I got the matte when I did because it's all sold out now. I am terrible at upgrading anything and everything. This was very easy to do in my opinion. I had no issues with the screws. Everything came apart and went back together very easily with no issues. This was my first time taking this Batmobile apart, so I was nervous going in, but it was easy and pretty cut and dry, especially after watching their installation video.
My favorite thing about all this is you did your review found the gap and immeditley @ramentoy addressed the issue. Collectors and companies working together to improve and create great products is so refreshing. I wish the bigger companies had that same transperency and public presence. Every company needs there own Ace talking to the people . Ace the Real Peoples Champ! Great review Jay
I'm just waiting for Ace At Ramen to make something that my collection needs as time and again what I'm seeing from in-hand reviews is that the quality & ingenuity on these products are solid.
such a great and simple mod. thanks for suggesting it. i have had that batmobile in a box unopened for months. lots of things bugged me about it, but you nailed it. the roof and windshields are all off and gross; looked too toy like. took a little while, but the parts arrive and it is now leaps better and I am proud to display it. even if it is a one seater. :D
Thank you for sharing this looks so much better, improving the 89 batmobile. I subscribed as well just because you're humble. I don't like when other channels tell you to subscribe like 10 times I have a family I need your money basically lol. Just saying I like that you do this for the love of doing it,the passion ❤❤❤ great review
Thanks for the review and tutorial! McFarlane Toys should pay RamenToy to send replacements to all customers who bought the original glossy Batmobile, which had defective color match.
Nice review and cool upgrade. My theory on why McFarland made the canopy the way he did is so you could see the figure inside the vehicle. I've seen some upgrades for turning the 1 seater into a 2 seater, but I think you would need a smaller Batman for it.
The gloss set fits better than the matte set for some reason which we surmise there is a slight deformation of the Matte Batmobile compared to the Gloss Version. Deformation means very slight microns of difference with the injection process by Mcfarlane. The Gloss and Matte Mcfarlanes were done in 2 batches while the CAG is done in 1 production.
Can’t wait! Getting two sets for both versions. This and the Two Seater set I have will be lit 🔥 . Great price for sure. I think I honestly prefer the glossy one since I don’t have to worry about it scratching up like the Matte one. Especially when messing around putting figures in. And some pics of the 89 Batmobile kind of have that look .
As the guy that broke open GapGate 2024, did you ever go back to loose some screws to see if it ever fixed the gap issue? I just saw an older Ramen video and it seem to sit flush when assembled for the matte. It was in one of the videos where they had just an unpainted prototype and was demonstrating how they had refined the gap in the new mold.
When I got a suggestion from Amazon to get this Batmobile in December, it was an immediate purchase. Then my immediate next stop was to Ramen Toys to get the GAG set. It really makes the 89 Batmobile look so much better. Happy to see that they will be shipping soon and you shared the end result. Even if there is a little canopy lift, I would rather have that than the derpy canopy it came with. I am hoping that he considers doing the 2 seater conversion. But understands if he doesn’t. I am so grateful that this is an option
@@derrickorourke8454 a new interior would be nice but I'd settle for the turn table piston thingy from returns, those wing thingies that come out the sides also from returns and a flame effect for the jet booster!... about the only other things that this batmobile has is the grapple hook and those discs that shoot out the sides and shields!
I waited for the color matched canopy version that came with '89 Batman but I'd get this set just to have the machine guns. Not sure $19.89 is too much for that bit of customizing though
I’m anxious to get this. I have an interior conversion kit to fix the dash and make it a two seater for six inch figures. I would love to see Ramen make the shield cover.
Interested in this Yeah, that canopy looks better, and it doesn't seem out of place; even though it doesn't sit as flush as I would like. Idk. Tough call. I really don't have much time to open and modify toys. Nice video Jay! Thanks

@@RAMENTOY the only explanation, if your canopy is the exact same for both gloss and matte it has to be the batmobile itself, either a running change or a slight mold degradation!
I just got the walmart flash batmobile for $10 absolutely love it. Exactly what I wanted as a kid but never got a movie batmobile I can slap a batman in lol. It was 10 bc someone took flash but still had batman.

@RAMENTOY that is very good to know. I still want to get the CAG. Hopefully, and I think it will be barely noticeable I'm hand with my matte finish version Batmobile. Thank you for your response and additional information
Looks like the peg that connects to the lever that opens the canopy is a little to large, thus creating that effect of not closing. Perhaps with little epoxic plastiline or superglue and baking soda can extend the peg
@@RAMENTOY woah that was fast! i admire your commitment, please do the possible to make available your stuff in mexico, lots of fans want all your stuff!
Not bad but for an "upgrade" they should really fix that canopy so that it is actually flush with the vehicle before they actually sell this. This needs to be perfect for 20 bucks plus the shipping.

After the Chinese New Year, we will look at the Matte set on the vehicle to see if indeed by loosening the screws if it can fit better for the Matte.
@@RAMENTOY thanks for the reply. Hopefully it’s as easy as loosening the screw. If not, would it be possible to do some sort of recall in order to have the issue fixed before the defect version is shipped out?
@@Melodic805 there is no need for a recall. It is not a defect. We will produce the CAG 2.0 with the 2 seat cockpit and gauges and the gauge will be molded to accept the slightly increase in depth of our canopy.
Does ramen toys usually address issues like this engineering tolerance issue? I’m tempted to buy and do the upgrade. I wonder if Ramen is able to strike a deal with McFarlane and make it an official upgrade they might be willing to help them figure out why this is happening, and even help distribute or even promote the upgrade. If McFarlane isn’t too proud to admit they made a boo-boo design wise.
As a batmobile collector I have 3 versions of the 89 batmobile if it's not film accurate before I buy it I don't buy it ,these things are not cheap especially at the size of this one so I'm definitely picky of if my batmobile is screen accurate or not ,nice car though
Actually the screws have to be tight in order for the spring to pop out the canopy with the push of the button. But indeed if the screws are not tighten too tight, it could very well be the solution - although ourselves have not tested it. During our development process, we wanted to ensure that the function of the button popping out works. Also, the gloss set fits better than the matte set for some reason which we surmise there is a slight deformation of the Matte Batmobile compared to the Gloss Version. First, there was absolutely no problem with fitting a figure in it with an accurate canopy....todd mcfarlane thought that it looked cool.hes out of touch with reality a bit. Second, and please dont think im throwing off on ramen,he steped up and did a good job.but....but...he could have went a bit further and made the front slope back of the canopy accurate. The windows are much more correct but he left the slope about the same as mcfarlane
Hmm. I didn't get the set... Only thing I received from raymond toys , which i'm still questioning is a real toy company until I get anything else from them. Lol And I don't care for this sat really.. I haven't put it on but whatever..guns and a little canapy.. It might not fit flush anyway.
The original design by McFarlane is just odd. Why make a 1/12 (or smaller) scale vehicle then try to cram a 1/10 scale figure in it? I guess to save money on plastic.
Don’t spend your money on this set. Ramen’s product is fine. It’s McFarlane that used cheap screws that strip immediately. I’ve never had a disassembly that difficult. My vehicle broke in the process. I don’t know why Ramen or other reviewers fail to mention that removal is extremely difficult.
@@RealFanOfSteel Right across the back tires. It’s totaled. Only way McFarlane could ever make up for the whole fiasco would be to release the Batmissile with a Returns Batman.
@@robseman5212hahaha another libtard getting butt hurt. Is call history is part of the US culture and canceling or ignoring doesn't make it go away. Jeez you people are easily offended.
