Did the Acolyte Destroy the Chosen One Prophecy? 

Charles Soule, the author of the comic you reference in this video, has since confirmed that what’s shown in the comic is simply Anakin’s *fear* that Palps might’ve created him. Soule went on to confirm that Anakin was canonically simply created by the force itself.

The difference is that Anakin was created directly by the Cosmic Force, no in-between. The twins instead, have been created artificially by a witch coven using the Force, likely involving some questionable ritual as well.

It further adds to why Palpatine had ordered the massacre of the night sisters during The Clone Wars. Anyone who posed a threat to his ruling was going through a purge. From the night sisters, the Jedi, clones of Jango Fett and the Mandalorians.

I actually love how you aren’t just negative for the heck of it like many Star Wars RU-vidrs . It’s a big contributor to why I watch you over others .

If anything, the twins' birth gives MORE credence to Anakin being the chosen one. The more people who are created by the Force, the more the Force is going to retaliate. We don't know how many times the Force has been manipulated to create life, but we do know that by the time Plagueis rolls around, the Force has just finally fucking had it and creates Anakin.

Its not even the first time we have seen witches doing weird magic things in and around manipulating life / bending the rules of biology - the Nightsisters do literal necromancy and mutations / enhancements on both a mental and physical level (Maul and Savage) not to mention Ahsoka literally dies and is resurrected by the personification of the light side of the force Obi Wan, Yoda and Luke all die and disincorporate immediately, there are essence transfers and mental connections between people who are hundreds if not thousands of light years apart, all of the Mortis and World between worlds stuff that we see throughout Clone Wars, Rebels and other series etc etc There is a BUNCH of weird line blurring, mystical, clearly fantastical shit in SW, using the force to manipulate the formation of life is a rare but still perfectly lines up with everything else we have seen ALSO not only in my opinion does this not ruin Anakin's conception but this coven of witches being a part of how Plauegis / Palpatine make the discovery / fully unlock the truth behind the force's influence on life would be a better explanation as to how they figured it out than they just thought about it for long enough and got the answer This does not change anything about Anakin’s story people just want to complain and will complain every week whether its about knives or fires in space

The twins were made WITH the Force, not BY the Force.

The Jedaii that you're talking about was a prodigy with force alchemy. She created a small, non-sentient, living blob of flesh made from her own bood, skin cells, and hair follicles. She took a blaster shot to the chest while persuing her brother, who was basically a non-force sensitive version of Darth Treya trying to destroy the force. She was able to keep herself alive and used both sides of the force in order to meld her experiment to her wound in order to heal herself. Doing so also made her feel an intense pull to the dark side (Bogan in the novel)

I appreciate you’re one of the few not negative Nellys out here looking at it from an unbiased perspective. Negativity gets more clicks but an honest fresh perspective is nice and will keep me interested.

5:34 Anakin’s birth is complicated because he was the result of the sith trying to create life and the force retaliated by allowing the creation of him but making him the chosen one. It’s because the sith were perverting the balance of life and death that they were responsible for his birth

When I checked, it was the Will of the Force(or The Force Priestesses) that created Anakin.

Did anyone else notice something was going on in the coven's power generator before the Jedi met them? After the "thread" training session the Zabrak hears something there and tells the kids to go to their room. Were the Jedi already sabotaging the generator... someone else, or maybe it was just getting ready to blow all on its own.

Main difference - Some person using the force to create life is not the same as THE FORCE ITSELF creating life (Anakin). Just sayin...

As yet, nobody knows exactly what the chosen one prophecy says. I’ve thought for some time that Darth Plaguis caused Anakin’s conception. Perhaps when Plaguis and Sidious meditated and nothing came of it, something did come of it, without them knowing.

I have a feeling the fire seems so disjointed at the end of the episode because they are purposefully not showing us the whole picture. The Jedi must have played a part in that fire.

Personally, I always thought of the "virgin birth" was stupid, and George just shoehorned that in to begin with. I much prefer to think the prophecy was made up and the Sith were the ones responsible for it, but it backfired on them. Especially with Palatine's story about his master's ability to create life. They could have used that story to explain away the weird virgin birth stuff.

When Qui-Gon Jinn hears Shmi had a virgin birth he doesn't bat an eye, I thought since then that that force births were normal or at least a possibility common enough. In our world it's a very common trope in many mythologies too.

What about the fact that these twins are way above the age of training for a Jedi? Even Anakin was a hard exception. And before you bring up Luke, I am of the opinion that's it's never too late to train but lore-wise, this breaks the canon of the Jedi creed(another disclaimer for all the dense contrarians: I don't support their ideology but it's their ideology).

The witches did do some amazing stuff with magic. It's why I love Maul and Ventress. They kept them alive and fuel them to survive. These witches were just written really poorly. Osha and Mae should have looked like both their mothers and have different hairstyles.

I enjoy this channel because it makes me think. It may start out as SW thoughts, it may begin with fantasy filosophy and effects, but it teases my brain to some groovy exercise that drifts across my cosmos. I don't always end up agreeing with all the points here, or all the interpretations, but it is a challenging place to start. The thoughtful presentation and honest reflection and emphasis on personal perspective encourages me to stretch those old biddy brain cells and ponder a while. I thank you!

There's a difference between the Force creating a baby (Anakin) and somebody using the Force to create life (Mae and Osha). This is another step on the way to put the "how" in the "somehow Palpatine returns", it doesn't breaks lore nor diminishes Anakin's significance to the galaxy.

To me, there's a world of difference between the force spontaneously creating Anakin and 2 witches manipulating it to make twins (though that's still impressive). I still see Anakin as totally the chosen one

There's an absolute difference between Anakin being made By the Force and the witches Using the Force to create the twins. I'm guessing some people can't see the distinction. Also, nowhere in cannon, that I have seen, does it say Anakin was the only one created by/through the Force. You're dead on about certain creators rage baiting.

Best video/take on this show. I'm not a Disney Star Wars fan, but I genuinely believe that it's cool to hate anything other than Andor these days. I think the story behind these twins is very intriguing and doesn't retcon the lore at all.

In the Plagueis novel, the force intervened when Anakin was being created. it added light side elements to counter the dark side & that’s how he became the chosen one. If it comes out that the creation of one of the twins (presumably Osha) was intervened by the force to counter the dark (Mae) it would kind of make them a sort of pre-Chosen One. I think that idea would be cool as heck.. but it scares me a little because it probably would set-off the entire fandom menace and maybe multiply the angry posts we see 😅

It doesn't break the chosen one lore if anything it proves Anakin is made by Palpatine fucking around and finding out.

Personally, I think the witches had secret dealings with a Sith. They used some Dark side power to create the twins, and that is why they are so worried. If the Jedi find out how it was done, then they may find out where they learned to do it. It might also explain how Mae seems to have gotten in contact with a Sith to become an acolyte.

I could actually tie in. Darth Plaguis might have gotten the level of sith force manipulation knowledge of the next step up for Anakin. Because both Mama were needed (life force that was through the force) while Anakin didn't need one as he had no father.

The Acolyte did not ruin the Chosen One prophecy because Palpatine explained that Darth Plagueis was able to create life and none of his creations were ever the Chosen One. It was always Anakin.

Yes, the ending of the episode! There's definitely more to the "Brendok Incident" than what was shown so far. Like why did the twins asked each other what the other one did? And did anyone notice the facial injuries that Torbin had at the end? How did he get those?

What exactly happened when Osha heard the witches screaming? New Rockstars did point out a scene in the trailer when Kelnacca jumps and attacks Torbin. You can see Torbin’s scar when we first see him. Perhaps Aniseya did another spell on Torbin that had him fighting against the other Jedis? So the Jedis didn’t attack first but perhaps ended up slaughtering those witches and then covering up by saying Mae started a fire but you see no burned corpses on the floor. Charlie from Emergency Awesome made a point that perhaps Sol didn’t witness what happened with the other three Jedis against the witch coven and perhaps was led to believe Mae started that fire. Sol would be the only innocent one among that four Jedis since it looked like he directly ran to rescue Osha. He was the only Jedi there. He must have just ran directly there and didn’t have any encounter with the witches. Doesn’t seem like he has a guilt trip that Torbin had. Since Leslye is taking cues from Legends, it looks like the Sith Lord will be Darth Tenebrous. The Acolyte: 132 BBY The Phantom Menace: 32 BBY Sidious was born in 84 BBY. He would be born 48 years later or at the end of the High Republic era. Wookieepedia states Plagueis was born between 147 BBY to 120 BBY. So he’s not born yet or he’s about 15 at this time. I’ll go with the latter age. Wookieepedia doesn’t state when Tenebrous was born. Allen Xie (Generation Tech) who enjoyed Episode 3 made a great point in his recent video. That’s Star Wars to him. It’s meant for kids as George Lucas has said many times. This is not Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon. The scenes with Mother Aniseya with Osha and Mae were very sweet. The way Shmi loved her son, you can see that in Aniseya and then eventually in Sol around Osha. It’s those little quiet scenes between a parental figure and child that I enjoyed from it. It’s not all about lightsabers duels that Prequels fans are addicted to. It reminded me of Obi-Wan teaching Luke the ways of the Force in ANH and then Yoda in TESB. Star Wars is all about a kid’s journey whether it’s Luke, Anakin, and even Cassian, watching them grow up, and whether they choose to be good or bad with their life. I think Prequels fan, Star Wars Theory, only wants Revenge of the Sith be done a thousand more times. Cool lightsaber duels is all he cares about. Star Wars is Soulcalibur with laser swords to him. But seeing Star Wars at age 34 is different than seeing at 9 through 15 again. It may not appeal to him like it used to. He’s not seeing it from a kid’s perspective like he did 19-25 years ago no different than my generation mocking the Prequels since we were in our late teens to mid 20s when those came out. We whined about Jar Jar, Midi-chlorians, and George ruining our childhood with the Special Editions but the late 80s and 90s babies accepted them as gospel from Lucas. Hence, revisionist history on the Prequels comes out. Who was the most popular character in last year’s Ahsoka which consisted of mostly female characters? Baylan, another WHITE MALE character. Now Baylan did deserve to be the most popular. He was no doubt my favorite. Ray did an amazing job. Thrawn and Ezra were the only other male leads in it. Who do you think is the most popular character in The Acolyte? Sol or maybe Qimir. Two Asian males. As long as it’s male and preferably white, male SW fans are drawn to them. Anakin “The Chosen One” = white male Luke = white male Obi-Wan = white male Qui-Gon = white male Han Solo = white male Sidious = white male Ray Park = IRL, a white male Baylan = white male Kylo Ren = white male George Lucas turned SW fans into only wanting to see lightsaber duels led by a white male character after the Prequels. The most charismatic character in Star Wars is Darth Vader but his charisma is coming from a Black man’s voice. Not the height or build of Prowse or Christiansen. James Earl Jones can pass away at any time now. RIP Jerry West. The Acolyte can be utter garbage week after week, but people like Tyrone Magnus and The Critical Drinker are still going to finish the entire series like they did for She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, and The Rings of Power. 🤣 Got to get those clicks from RAGE BAIT whether they hate it or not. It could end up at the very bottom once I see the final 5 episodes. But I do find it funny with these haterade videos mocking it. The best point you can make is NOT to watch it then! But you will continue to do so because of these algorithms. All these videos saying how the viewership for The Acolyte sucks. Ok, but you still saw it just like The Critical Drinker and Ben Shapiro paid to watch Barbie last year in order to make a video about it. You’re still talking about it and giving them free publicity. Thanks for the real takes on this. I was waiting to watch episodes 3 and 4 until I could find the time to see it with my son. I avoided spoilers but was seeing crazy thumbnails about how awful and destructive they were to the Star Wars universe... I got to then end of the episodes feeling well entertained and confused by the hate.
