Anakin does an entire thesis on the guy that basically sets up the entire Separatist movement and the plan to massacre the Jedi, but never connects the dots to how it relates to the war? Yeah, I can see it, honestly
One thing I love about this is how Anakin just does not engage with the point Palpatine is trying to make. He drops hints about how Anakin should pursue the power to save others from death and the guy is just like “hmmm yes I’ve heard of the Dark Side, that’s the one that gives you lightning fingies.”
Tbh, most of the time making a thesis assignment is out of requirement rather than Passion. So you would just speedrun the whole thing and forget about it once you submit it.

in legends i guess he had some choices ( maybe he can find Starkiller like Vader did tho prolly unlikely, or Darth Krayt before becoming a sith etc. ) but Disney wise he only had the Grand Inquisitor and he was pretty weak by sith standards... even if he tries to use Lord Momin I think it would backfire
I am a public-educator (middle-school English and literature), so I relate to Palpatine trying to tell this story and trying to have a student draw his own conclusions, only to have it go totally awry! 😂

@@jovianmelendezHe really does. His natural speaking voice has gotten much deeper. He actually has to “put on” the higher, airer, Anakin voice for things like Ahsoka.
@@gmansgnarlyscienceshow2820 His new Anakin voice is a mix of his normal voice, his old Anakin voice, and Matt Lanter's Anakin voice. He isn't whiny anymore because the director wasn't telling him to put on a whiny voice.
Honestly it's impressive how Anakin has such a short attention span and isn't willing to learn anything, and yet he has an idea of what mitochondria do and almost gets the word correct.

Yeah, the prequel trilogy really felt like Anakin was way too easily manipulated, and Palpatine barely bothered to hide his Dark Side persona because the audience knew who he was when no one else around him was supposed to.
It's always so weird to me that Plaguies died right before the Battle of Naboo, like a little over 10 years before this part of the prequels. Palpatine acts like it was some ancient sith tale. And it's even funnier with Anakin saying he wrote a thesis on it.
This is written like a classic comedy sketch, and I loved every second. The timing, delivery, and hidden jokes in the subtitles were all absolutely hysterical. I can't wait to check out the rest of your videos.
"More like the story of darth plagiarize" that was the whole anchor for this video wasn't it. You were sitting on your couch and then you said that, and then this entire video idea came to you and you talked the whole thing out on your couch like aschizo.
I like to imagine this us the realistic result of what happens to Anakin abd explains why he talks like that after years of being electrecuted and multiple concussions. Kinda sad though.

I did my Jedi Thesis on Darth Revan and my conclusion was that if you commit a war crime by brainwashing a war criminal into forgetting that they're a war criminal, they are no longer a war criminal and by extension neither are you so no harm, no foul. Needless to say that the council was very impressed.
Palpatine: Have you ever heard of the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise? Anakin: Yes I have. Palpatine: I thought n... wait what? Anakin: Everybody heard about it. He was this rich guy who got murdered like 10 years ago in a very weird circumstances. It was all over the news. When the Jedi Council realized Sith were around, we looked into it and concluded he was a Sith lord. Palpatine: Oh... Anakin: You wanted to tell me something. Palpatine: Oh... yeah... nevermind.
It might just be me, but Palpatine seemed to be unfazed by Anakin confusing Midi-chlorians and mitochondria. Like, his tone suggested that this was a very common mix up.
I laughed so hard at the mitochondria bit that I had to pause the video, reassure my cat that I’m ok, and now deal with hiccups. That was some great comedic timing!
To me that plagiarization line cuts suprisingly deep. Like, I imagine it struck the hidden inferiority complex that palpatine has towards his master. As in "you plagiarized your master", "you are his bad copy". Makes that moment of silence after all that more meaningful
"You were all like, 'Do it.' and my lightsabers were all like, 'Bzzyatt'" that was fucking hilarious hearing Anakin describe the sound of the lightsabers sliding to decapitate Dooku
