Watch adventure of Little Yellow Car as he try electric item in self where in world other machines are preferring oil.
Fact: In Cars 2, The script originally had five races with Paris and Germany, in addition to Tokyo, London, and Porto Corsa. As the story expanded, and became too long during production, the German race was dropped, and the Paris segment was re-worked.
Holy shit. That explains why I didn't see the races in Cars 2 yet the DSi game had those. I remember being confused why the movie didn't show Paris and Germany races when I was a kid. You definitely brought some closure for me after years thinking about this 😂 Side note: I actually liked the movie and played the DSi game. I guess I enjoyed the movie because racing is the subplot while Mater being a spy is the main focus but that's just my opinion
I love the little bits of humor edited in after the facts, like the ending clip of the octopus landing on the windshield and the cut-off scream of the drivers XD
The storyboard text mentions that the little yellow car is a modified BMW Isetta given an electric engine. As of May 2022 the Swiss vehicle company Micro Mobility Systems has begun producing an electric microcar with a design almost entirely based on the Isetta. I'm really curious if there's any connection or if it's all just a coincidence.
0:04 Also did I just see an early version of McQueen getting sent to the junkyard?! That's because it's from a later early Cars storyboard called "American Car" which is the storyboard that McQueen was included in. The Yellow Car storyboard had humans in and this idea was later scrapped when Pixar made the "American Car" storyboard draft which included 57 McQueen.
Honestly I am super glad that Cars came out in 2006 instead of 1999, because I was alive in 2006, and I was 3 years old, it couldn’t of come out at a better time.
0:01 Actually it was conceived in 1997 which was when the storyboard for Yellow Car was created then in 1999 before John Lasseter went on vacation with his family another early Cars storyboard was made called American Car created by the same artist Jorgen Klubien.
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I'm 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn't lose to anyone.
I honestly would like to see electric cars on Cars on the road or in a future installment and see what our characters think about electric cars in their world.
why would they need to be electric? Do the cars in the movie run on fossil fuels that are running out or is their own existence causing climate change?
@@shamarerskine3987 "green", electric cars still use the energy made by fossil fuel energy power plants. Imo alcohol cars are more green than electric right now
The original concept art reminds me a lot of The Brave Little Toaster, which I heard that several of the same people that worked on Cars had also worked on.
The yellow car was 1997, not 1999. There was also another separate storyline later that same year called American car and it more closely resembled the plot of cars
About the Lightning McQueen bandaid, I've always assumed that the Cars universe being connected to the Pixar universe theory might be able to be explained by it just being another line of possibly sentient toys like in the Toy Story movies, and the movies are just a piece of fiction to explain their background in-universe.
This reminded me of this dream I had where Ramone's "car bud" from a long time ago visited him at Radiator Springs to show him that they "transitioned" to an electric instead of gas. Of course, because he is from a traditional town (before Radiator Springs), Ramone was against this... That is until they risked their life for Ramone over a faulty phone wire. Surprised and touched by this, he gave his old friend "vehicle CPR" by charging their car battery. After several attempts, they've finally made it just enough to be carried by Mack to a "car version of a hospital (if one exists in real life(?)").
Hey Ned, great video. I just wanted to ask are in the need of more fun facts about Cars? Because I’ve got a good fun fact. In some certain parts of other Pixar movies, several different models of characters from the Cars films appear as regular cars. Examples: - In Monsters University, models of the Pacers, Professor Z, Otis, and Fred appear through the film, with added features to look like they belong in the monsters world. The PNK’s convertible model car is also a Pacer. - In Inside Out, models of the Hugos and the character Cartney Brakin can be seen throughout San Francisco. More notably when Riley and her family are on the curvy road. - In Luca, models of Piaggio Ape can be scene throughout Portorosso. You can even see a teal Fiat 500 that closely resembles Luigi.
During the sequence where Lightning meets with Sterling in his office, a miniature version of Cinderella's carriage can be seen on the shelf on the back wall.
It's too bad we never got this. Maybe if pixar can come up with a way to incorporate it into an additional film of cars, it would be interesting to see how it would be stretched into a good hour and a half or so movie.
Ned Wheeler, I wish the 1991 Gold Walt Disney Home Video logo was included in Cars 2006 VHS and DVD just like Toy Story 1996 VHS and 2000 DVD and Toy Story 2 2000 VHS and DVD did instead of the Walt Disney Home Entertainment logo included in Cars 2006 VHS.
@@squid_cake think about it if electric cars were shown before the events of cars 1 what's the point of having McQueen as a petrol powered car? Nobody would be interested because he's inferior to electric race cars.
@@yam9195 to think about it again, electric car has been around since late 1800s but haven't gain any popularity until Tesla came out and revolutionized the Electric Car Market (because back then the battery technology sucks and unreliable back then). It would be an interesting spin off honestly, the yellow car could be Sarge and Filmore old friend that got an Electric conversion
0:05 There's another piece of storyboard that shows the train with "Union Pacific" on the side, confirming that Union Pacific exists in the Cars Universe. The only other known railroads in the Cars universe are the Rio Grande and Southern and Chicago Transit Authority.
I think I might prefer how Cars turned out as opposed to what it would have been, but what do I know, I don’t have the ability to see alternate realities.
As a vw enthusiast I can tell you there is a book called the little yellow bug, herbies special friend, I wonder if inspired the name of the lil yellow car, btw long time watcher 1st time commenter love the content and deadication & just how I've learned so many interesting facts about cars and the automotive world thru this channel, some I knew already but I lot I didn't, bloudy great stuff 👍
I love your channels dude! Can you make another channel called Daily Dose of Seth Rogen comedies such as Superbad, Sausage Party, This Is The End, An American Pickle, Neighbours and Pineapple Express please?
Why couldn't they have used the idéa for "little yellow car" in Cars 2? With Mcqueen and the others now being side-characters for this new main-character
As far as I can tell, Cars had many edits in terms of deleted scenes. In the directors commentary featuring John Lasseter he explains some of the early edits from the early 2000s. And also some of the scenes that were cut off from the final film. The idea of a tiny electric car in a world with gas powered cars would've been a great concept but I doubt it would've brought the success that the final film brought out, not just to the box office at Pixar but also to our childhoods.
Hey @Ned Wheeler, in the first planes movie, watch skippers tail from the part where it was cut off to the part it was repaired. A piece appears and disappears
