There is huge difference between mileage of Diesel and Petrol ! While it’s claimed creta P gives 17 mileage but in real life it gives only 10-15 kmpl while as diesel gives 17-21 Also Diesel engines generate more power & torque!

Agar diesel ban hogya to heavy SUVs jaise ki fortuner , Scorpio-N bilkool bhi kaam ki nahi rahegi. Aur fir logo ko compact SUVs ya sedan ki taraf shift hona padega. Because petrol engine ko chahiye light weight gaadi.

Even if Diesel is banned in 2027 , production stopped in 2027, tyre 2 cities they still can be used for 15years ? licensing for diesel pumps is still there, the whole truck industry is diesel , so it will at least take 20years to fully remove diesels from road , even if all diesel car sales are stopped in 2027 . Am not talking about Delhi NCR region but tier2/3 city in other states. what's your comments on this.

Diesel engine burns less fuel, so pollutes less. Petrol engine for the same power burns more fuel so pollutes more. Higher fuel consumption means higher CO2 / km. So a modern BS6 diesel emits very less. The ban should be on very old commercial vehicles which still run on BS1 and BS2 norms, which is the major cause of pollution.
