In US or UK whenever they have banned any specific cars/suvs, they actually banned the production of such cars, they never asked people to stop using them whoever already bought. Ex Hummer H2 was not able to comply with minimum fuel efficiency norms so GM stopped producing it but whoever had that vehicle they continued using it. Phasing out diesel cars is a good move but it can’t be enforced to the people who are already using it.
Bhai US aur EU pe dimaag wale logo ko authority dete hai decision lene ki India ki tarah nahi jaha pe agar aapko position chaiye tho aapko kitaabi keeda banna padega ya reservation ki help leni padegi because practical knowledge tho zero hai inki.
According to IIT Kanpur research, EVs generates more pollution compared to hybrid or conventional engines vehicles. The reason is that India uses coal to generate electricity for their most of the population and that creates more CO2 emissions when recharging batteries in large numbers. They suggested in their research to promote hybrid vehicles more than EVs because hybrid creates less emissions compared to EVs and conventional vehicles and asked government to cut down tax on hybrid vehicles.
As a non-IIT 😏 engineer I agree with this research if it really have been done and I still agree even when no such research is done. Because source of electricity and procurement of Lithium generate more pollution than conventional fossil fuel powered vehicle.
What about GE diesal locomotives, indian railways signed a contract for 13 years with GE for production of 700+ diesal locomotives. They must be non polluting according to our government 😅😅😅
Diesel cars least polluting among all , as extract carbon particles are heavy in size so lay down on surface in end, whether petrol and cng molecules are less visible but mix with air and spread more pollution , most polluting is CNG bcs its extract are cause of cancer... Its auto mobile companies conspiracy with govt to prove diesel more polluting bcs diesel engines are 4 strokes means burn fuel 4 times rather than 2 stroke.. Dats why more efficient in mileage , but companies have to make heavy engines so they want to save cost in manufacturing.. And laid burdon on public..
@@JewarKaSultanAfroj Really dude is this true ? Because I'm an owner of Honda Mobilio Diesel and I truly love the driving experience of Diesel Car especially the Honda i-DTEC.
what did u intent to buy from childhood? arre, get the petrol version of the car.. with the bs6 p2 norms, owning a diesel car itself is getting costlier.. u guys have absolutely no idea what u r talking about. keep complaining for everything... this is a very good move by the govt.. petrol cars have less maintenance over period of time..
@@bingewatch3553 Governments didn't care about evironment , if they care than why ev it causes more carbon emissions than Diesel vehicles before agreeing with govt. first think properly and do research to yourself don't be such a dump person.
Question: If BS6 Ph-2 norms were introduced to reduce pollution then what is the need to ban diesel? And if Diesel has to be banned then what was the need of BS-6 and Ph-2 norms? Either the norms are useless or the ban? I'd say the ban is useless because we all know what happened in Delhi NCR, even after banning old cars Delhi's air remains polluted and there has been no improvement in air quality not even 0.1%.
More than 90 percent of 4 wheeler owners will maintain their car as good as new. If they really needed to reduce the pollution than they should have banned trucks and buses which emit black smoke. But they won't because those trucks and buses are owned by ministers
Most of the diesel engine doesn't not comply with in bs 6 phase 2.most of the car manufacturers already discontinued their diesel vehicles. I think bs6 phase 2 is for petrol vehicle mostly.
Indian government's taxation scheme on cars is the most stupid thing preventing the entry of quality vehicles and good engines from entering the market
This is my take on this topic, A Slow and Steady phasing out of Diesel Cars would be better, - Why don't Govt. reduce taxes on Hybrid vehicles so that majority Indian buyer shifts towards it, this will automatically reduce Diesel car sales over a period of time. After a shift of Indian Buyers towards Hybrid cars, even Auto manufacturers will focus on manufacturing Hybrids over Diesel. At this point Govt. can direct Auto manufacturers to either limit or completely stop production of Diesel cars (Existing owners will still be free to drive their Diesel cars until their registration expires).
Bro hybrid is taxed more cuz they need to sell petrol Hybrid saves money so you don't buy petrol so it's taxed more so you buy petrol car and not hybrid and buy petrol
@@calvinbirdy702 The reason behind heavy taxation on hybrid cars is lobbying by Indian manufacturers. They know that whole market will be captured by Japanese.
@@calvinbirdy702 its because mahindra and tata bhai. They don't hybrid to be taxed lower because no one would buy pure electric then which mahindra and tata has. No indian manufacturer has hybrid tech
India is always good at messing up everything. Developed countries can quickly transition to electric vehicles due to their purchasing power and R&D but a developing country like India cannot, government never bothers to think from various angle and take proper, clear cut decision. China in this regard is much more matured and takes decision based on current circumstance.
India is reeling under more severe pollution than western countries. My child is facing breathing issues. Lakhs of people die in North India due to air pollution
The major drawback of our government is their biased decision making strategy. This tends towards the profit consumption only. A large portion of our country's commercial transportation depends solely upon Diesel vehicles. A quick instinct based decision would cause even greater tension than expected..
I've heard that EVs are more harmful than the fossil fuel vehicles. But it seems our Govt. is ignoring this side completely. Please make a video on this topic.
Great video! A few suggestions for future video on similar topic: 1. Role of Diesel vehicles in Goods transport and Intercity Public transport should be covered. 2. Cost of owning a diesel vehicle which pays off with time, better mileage, higher engine life enables the owner to keep the vehicle running for longer period (saving money and preventing the vehicles from being scrapped). It seems that the auto industry wants us to change our car every 3-5 years and the govt makes minimum 28% straight in GST (and near 10% in RTO). I have seen Fortuners and Innovas with 5L+ kms running smooth as butter. (in my personal opinion this has less to do with the environment and more to push the consumer to buy new cars). Thanks Rahul
This is true. Whether there is any study that diesel passenger vehicle attribution to pollution. They don’t take action on diesel trucks and buses, major polluters due to poor maintenance. These laws cause inconvenience to public.
Agar government diesel cars ban karengi toh unhe apne khatara Gov. Buses aur koh bhi ban kar dena chahiye. Kyuki Gov. Buses aur trucks jo diesel powered hein uske exhaust se oxygen toh nhi nikalti
Sab munafe ka khel hai bhai, gov ko bhi pata hai India ke log diesel gadi ko 2 lakh ya 20 saal Tak chala lete hai, diesel nhi hoga to logo ko jaldi jaldi car Leni padegi ,or ye bsfk tax to lagate hi hai gadiyo pe dher bharke😡
The point is that is India really ready for a quick diesel ban? Bcoz trucks and buses mostly run on diesel and a ban on diesel would make them shift to petrol . Which would substantially increase the transport cost. EVs are a good solution but the problem with them is range anxiety. And the infra of charging stations. In country like India it would take some time to improve the charging infra. Govt can either replace all petrol stations with charging stations and such that charging happens at a higher power And in my opinion 2035 is a short duration for IC ban. Atleast India needs time till 2040 or 2045. Till then govt should promote hybrid cars Guys what are ur opinions on Synthetic fuel developed by Porsche
Diesel run bus or any public transport emits comparatively less pollution than cars per person transported. So it's a stupid and expensive idea to scrap them.

this may be like banning a plastic strow while at the same time allowing potato chips and the likes to be sold and a bike with no option of turning the headlight off. one wonders whose brain is behind these splendid decisions!!!🤔
Seriously bro… Agree and frustrated that anyhow we can’t say anything on these stupidity 😢😫 EV cars are like children toys.. Without diesel car noise how will we get feeling of driving a car…
@@infinitebeing1119 the wisecrack (who make this rules) should make a headlight to change people''s mentality who seem to be always in a rush giving little concern to other fellow commuters safety. these people don't drive looking if the headlights of the bike is on or off. if they are that concerned about road safety then they should ban Maruti cars as they are like beer cans.
If they are bringing out this law then first of all the vehicles that are deployed in Government sectors are diesel vehicles and should be banned. Second, all the ministers, higher officials, and police should stop using diesel vehicles like Scorpio,Bolero and every one should use alto instead because diesel vehicles have higher pollution rate.😂
You will lose miserably 😂...the reasons is environmental pollution and higher production and maintenance costs of diesel because of BS6 upgrades. You can still use diesel engines if government introduce M100 fuel. With small modifications cars with diesel engines can run on methanol fuel but the milage will be less than the diesel fuel.
Nothing can match the torque and driving pleasure of a diesel car, a diesel is a diesel. And modern engines don't pollute much. And green house gases emissions are negligible in diesel engines.
Public should first learn few things. 1. Don't support any politician blindly. 2. Stop wasting water. 3. Stop using plastic covers. 4. Grow more and more plants, trees. 5. Government future me petrol diesel Wali cars par tax increase kar degi aur electric vehicles par tax reduce kar degi. isse dono type cars kee price same ho jayegi Government electric vehicles ko promote karna chahti. Ye government kee planned strategy hai
Will the trucks, medium public transport vehicles like tempo traveller, etc and buses which are also diesel engine powered also banned? Rule should be uniform, why only on cars?

You would be happy to know 85% of our trains run on electric locomotives and remaining 15% will be achieved by end of 2024. No other country in the world has been able to do so. UK is still targeting 75% electric conversion by the end of decade.
bruvv, carmakers se puch ke kya??? They only gonna think about themselves. Future car free cities hi hai, like amsterdam, and we need better public transpos.
Imagine Govt receives 28% gst and on avg 15% cess and road tax of 15 years on your Diesel car and than say drive it as much u want but only fr 5 years . Hw annoying and pissed tht person will be
The reason why Indian law maker implement these policy easily (unlike European countries) is that these policy are never valid for them, instead, they live above these rules. But still, we the people vote them to power to make these crazy rules for us without them even have to think about it!
Government can’t do this they will put them self in big trouble people will boycott in a ugly way and what about commercial vehicles who have spend lakhs and crores on new vehicles. The proposal is submitted under pressure and not considering people’s well being. BJP government will collapse if they pass this decision.
I request you to make video on cars of many popular brands in India recently are catching fires. Mainly what I think is car owners doing there own 3rd party upgrades or somewhere manufactures are not doing quality checks on there vehicles

its not about CO2, did you even watch the video? why do you think BS6 have dpf and adblue? its to compensate for higher non carbon emissions like particulate matter, nitrogen oxide and sulphur oxides you can check BS6 info as well, your spaghetti math is not how the world works. govt allows higher ceiling for pollution on diesel engines in diesel, limit for NOx is 80 while for petrol its 60 for hydrocrabon, limit for deisel is 170 while petrol is 100 so no, your math is wrong, diesel does pollute more due to the very nature of the fuel. govt already allows deisel to pollute more than petrol within the pollution norms itself due to this nature of the fuel

Maruti has made smart decisions by stopping Diesel cars even before govt making decisions. even the new policy in review process they would have already communicated with car manufacturers few years back. that is the reason maruti stopped diesel cars in 2020. TATA and Mahindra can't make decent petrol engine on their own. that is the reason they stayed with diesel engines and adding electic car lineup which is simple technology. TATA totally depends on external vendors for engines, Gearbox, platform. so basically they are just body shop.
Govt. wants to make profits for ethanol companies, because most of the ethanol companies are owned by politicians and ethanol blends well in petrol and it gives less mileage.

I think this decision would be for diverting people mind towards electrical vehicles. So the people who want good mileage shifts towards evs bcs govt expanding lots of money in evs sectors and want independency from oil.
cuz if we stress about that from the very beginning thn our development will me more sustainable and will be focused around greenery, instead of countries like usa or the whole of Europe that struggle to go green even after getting so developed and are so much hit by oil and gas cricies.
I agree with whatever you have said so far in all your videos. But I really think its high time we value the health of the planet, human health and those around us above profit/loss of companies and individuals. I haven't put a like to this video because of this reason only.
Where does electricity to power all those "clean" EVs that you're talking about? It's coal powered plants, not alternate energy which is woefully inadequate. Do you know the kind of minerals used in a battery pack? It pollutes infinitely to more mine those minerals. Don't be ign*rant!
If diesel engine will ban.THEN THERE IS NO POWERFUL ENGINE. IF petrol cars are in runs after diesel ban. Petrol cars can't generate power like diesel engine. Petrol cars didn't have enough power to the cars. And the owners feel the car is underpowered
Diesel ban is stup|d. There are tens of thousands of >10 year old commercial vehicles on India's roads which emit black smoke and they are still running today. Why no one bats an eye on them? Even turbo petrols lack the torque punch that the diesels have, and the diesels are much more efficient. One can drive a diesel hard and still get 2 digit mileage but they won't see the same thing in a turbo petrol
I lost my mother who was diagnosed with lung and nerve disease. doctors clearly said pollution is the reason. Please understand that Pollution is really bad to all of us
These useless people sitting in ministry cannot control stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana which is a major cause of pollution in Delhi but they will impose all kinds of nonsense restrictions on vehicles. People need to look at these guys and learn how not to work.
Government going insane, why they don't ban or use electricity or CNG in airplane ? Diesel engine is a base for passenger & goods transport have they give a thought about it ? I always prefer diesel car's.

I see power station which still runs on black dark coal to genrate electricity when there is technology called uranium but still we choose to import coal
Government should discontinue diesel cars in phases so that both buyers and manufacturers don’t have to face financial losses. As such due frequent change of pollution norms buyers are compelled to sel the car inspite of losses. And infrastructure for EV is in primitive stage in India. Rather than banning banning vehicles Govt should work on making infrastructure strong in 5yrs so that people can smoothly change to EVs. Govt committee suggestions are very unfortunate and they lack the foresight.😢
New diesel vehicles has something called DEF(Diesel Exhaust Fluid) oil for proper management of diesel exhaustion. Still govt wants to ban this. What is the harm now, if DEF oil is there
