Great idea by re-heating the outside air instead of trying to heat outside cold air. Keep an eye on that plastic vent hose. Mine melted where it was clamped on to the unit because my heat must run hotter than yours. I'm used an adapter to 4" and use aluminum vent hose instead.

The guy from Ozark Overland Adventures (Matt) offered up a tip. He said, "use a 4 inch dryer hose (connected to the included 3 inch hose) if you experience an error code (E3??) Informing you of an overheating fault. Anyway, thanks for the update. 👍

@@TopoPilot as long as you have enough power for the bigger ones, and you’re ok with the extra space they take up, the 5kw+ are nice to have when it gets really cold out

I found the three inch plastic dryer vent hose actually melted where it was clamped on to the air outlet. My heat just runs way too hot for it! I switched to an aluminum 4" hose using an adapter. Much better.

Where did you get the original three pin with the quick wire disconnects instead of screw terminals? I've been looking everywhere can't find them. Thanks

Nice set up! You might find an issue when you camp though. Having the supply and return right next to each other will cause the air to short circuit. Essentially the hot air going into the tent will immediately get sucked into the return causing one side of the tent to be colder than the other and potentially overheating the heater. Heat rises so it would be better if the supply was low and return high and even better if they were on opposite sides of the tent.

I’ll definitely be configuring it that way to minimize that effect, thanks. Since I have the rotating directional outlets, I can just turn them to point opposite directions. I doubt it will overheat but will keep the channel updated if I experience any issues like that.

Awesome assembly! I have a 5KW set up but there is always some burning plastic smell coming out which makes it useless . Any idea why this happens? Thanks!

Take the cover off and look around the sides of the heater fins to see if it has been contacting the plastic and melting it. It could also be the hose you’re using doesn’t have enough insulation. Try finding a drier hose with that foil-like lining on the inside.
