It's not available in Canada tho 😢 I understand the need for sponsorship, but I expect because you live in Toronto that you'd promote things your community can use :/
Bad edit, then you start talking. Then you add this blasting music as an intro. FYI music should not be louder than dialogue, don't make someone grab for the volume. For that matter don't add an intro get right to the point like the wonderful and brilliant Dr.Berg. Bye forever after 50 seconds
@@DavidVCastroI almost would trust him as a chiropractor, but I never have been to one and never will. But he's a brilliant man and has helped me enormously. Thanks to his studies in nutrition I am off of metformin and no longer have type 2 diabetes. He received his medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine. My wife is an anesthesiologist for 35 years which takes 12 years of school to get the degree, she is brilliant and thinks Berg is brilliant when it comes to nutrition and fasting.
By watching your videos I realised what a restrictive and unhealthy relationship with food I had, now I feel free to eat everything I want and most of the time I reach for the healthiest choices, thank you so much for your videos, you changed my life ❤
i love that emma seems to eat whatever she wants. there was no particular rhyme or reason to meals and they all seem pretty naturally well balanced. no food demonizing, supplementing, etc. fits right into her cool girl attitude! 😎💖
Chef here - for fried eggs you want a hot pan before adding your oil/butter so when eggs are dropped in the go white instantly. Crack eggs on flat surface.
If you ever saw Brazilian avocados 🥑, you’d probably freak out. Not only are they FOUR TIMES bigger but they’re also cheap, delicious and not as much of a gamble as what we get up here in US and Canada.
We had a huge tree when we lived in Florida. The avocados were the size of footballs..no joke! Had plenty of damage to shutters and gutters before adding the aluminum skirt because the raccoons would pick them and drop them after the first bite because they were so heavy. Super buttery too.
I love the info on this channel and I truly have learned so much but I can’t do the microphoned eating sounds 😭…I know, I know, this is a ME problem but I can’t get past them! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Love a good spring roll! I’ve found the best way to make those rice papers work well for me is to only dip them briefly in the water and remove while it still feels like a ‘sheet’. It will soften as you add your fillings and then you can roll it up without it tearing. Also make sure your work space isn’t too wet so the rice paper doesn’t get too soft. It’s a tricky balance and I still struggle with it lol but I love them! Great video Abbey!
This food all looks fabulous. I now always eat my avocado toast with Tajin, which I think I learned about from you Abbey! So delish. Also, I would recommend using hot water to thin out your peanut sauce.
Avocado, eggs (I go for soft boiled), sourdough toast & some kind of hot sauce will always remain my fave breakfast - so delicious, healthy & filling. Need to hunt down the everything but the bagel seasoning, not sure if it's a thing in the UK
just mix crushed dried garlic and onion seasoning with black/white sesame seeds & poppy seeds! there’s usually too much salt in the ones in the stores anyways so you can just add your own separately
Crack your egg on a flat countertop: larger area for overthinking the process so it looks like you know what you're doing no matter where you smash it on the counter, and also I find it leaves less odds for stray little egg shards to fall into the pan. But this is like a timeless argument so do whatever you want. I just think a flat countertop egg smash is superior.
Love this video! Could you do a video just on nourish bowls and sauces? I’ve always wanted to watch how I can put different hunger crushing combos together in a bowl. Hugs n love! 🤍
Hey Abby, great video!😊 Could you mabey make a video about nutrition as a petite woman? Because every calorie calculator tells me to eat 1200 cals and I don't think this is enough...
This is how much your organs need to function! It’s not even what you would. Red laying in bed all day. You should multiply this by 1,5 if you are sedentary but moves a little and by 1,8 if you do sport regularly!
Super cool to watch you. I have the same issue with my pelvic floor. Here in Sweden we have a surgery where something like "hammock" is inserted under your bladder to prevent it from "going down" when you sneeze, run, jump etc. I would expect that to be the case in Canada too, no? And I know that because I have urin incontinence issue after I gave birth to my child. I think topics like this - incontinence (or GOD FORBID anyone mentioning hemorrhoids openly) are so tabu for no f*****g reason. So I'm glad to hear about pelvic floor on your channel. Thank you for your informative videos.
Summer rolls is little time consuming, but sooo tasty. I like to add mint and some mango for some extra summery feeling. And my go to dip is from cashew butter and hummus for some extra protein. ☀
Abbey, tell please about 5 meals in a day. Lots of dietitians intimidate us a “persistent high blood sugar” (consequences of frequent meals ) that may stay a reason of diabetes and insulin resistant. They give such advices like “you should eat only 2-4 meals”. Can you debunk this myth?
In my country most dietitians recommend 5-6 meals a diet, because it boosts your metabolism and also it's better to eat small portions divided into several meals, than less meals but with bigger portions.
If you don’t have any serious medical issues then I don’t think this should be something you should worry about. Listen to your hunger cues, lifestyle and analyze when you get hungry. If you are worried about fat burning then that will ultimately come down to calories in v. Calories out.
Abby , I love watching your videos. As someone with prior disordered eating I am wondering do you eat the full portion of the meals you show us? I just feel that if I eat all that even though it is healthy I would gain weight. Thank you.
It probably helps with marketing to new people who haven't happened upon her channel yet. I thought about that, too, but realized this is a business and she is utilizing techniques that work on this platform. At least her videos are super helpful and wholesome. While there is definitely some clickbait on the covers, I appreciate her vids so much🥰
Can you please do a video on what foods to eat and avoid for woman with PCOS and insulin resistance and weight gain caused by those two conditions. I have been to a nutritionist and all she did was cut my calories to 1300 a day and removed salt and gave me plant based milk instead of animal milk..have lost a bit of puffyness and 4 kg but cant go down anymore. I gained 10 kg with my PCOS and insulin resistance and only Lost 4 with this diet plan (on diet for 6 months) wich is hard to continue with any longer.
Unfortunately diet and exercise is not usually enough for those of us with PCOS. Medication is pretty essential. Are you on anything for the IR? Furthermore, a low calorie diet like that is not sustainable anyhow.
Have you tried gluten/dairy free? I know it’s hard, but that was really helpful for me (possibly because it eliminated a lot of high sugar foods too) and I didn’t purposely cut calories. You could ask your doctor if it’s safe for you to try that. Either way, I hope you find a way to help your PCOS!
Abbey you've changed my view on oatmeal. I am in a Chron's flare right now and my body doesn't agree with it currently, but I never thought I would say I crave oatmeal until your protein oatmeal with fun goodies on top changed that for me🥰 Thanks a bunch!
I love how this video is made! The whole vibe, the funny but not overwhelming little memes here and there, the shown process of Abbey cooking and especially the explanation of the proteins completing each other! Had a good time watching!
I love your channel, however the inclusion of eating sounds and swallowing in the high quality audio is really hard to listen to. just speaking for myself and my own sensory sensitivity.
I fell in love with nutritional yeast came when I was vegetarian… with multiple changes in dietary pattern, I still really enjoy it sprinkled on a ton of stuff.
There's a cool coffee shop in Boone, NC, that has a phenomenal and unique Asian twist on avocado toast. The recipe: toasted sourdough bread, avocado, with an egg and sprouts on top, topped off with sesame oil, sriracha sauce, and sesame seeds. Mouth is watering just thinking about it. You should try it!!!
Abbey, love your content. I know you enjoy avocado and I learned a hack from college roomie to keep the avocado from browning so quick. She said never to use metal to cut or prep avocado. Plastic or wood the way to go. Plus keeping the pit in (which I see you do) is key.
Coffee...I tried switching my coffee routine up recently and it seems to be better for me. I initially did it because of the whole questionable cortisol levels thing, but I honestly should have always waited a hour after taking my levothyroxine. Needless to say, I feel like I have so much energy during the day, but that probably is from properly taking the medicine that actual helps with that. BTW Brody needs a raise.
I enjoy your meals in a day but this one had avocado in all three meals and I don't think I've ever seen an episode without avocado in at least one meal. As someone who despises avocado I'd love to see some alternatives without avocado.
Yeah. I'd have 2 of the eggs, 1 of those small avocados, and 1 slice of the bread. The fruit on the side too. I think two slices of bread would be to much food for me, as well as so much of that avocado. I'd be forcing down the amount on Abby's, but we all are different, and that's fine.
@@applegal3058 absolutely! I’m trying to recover from BED so can eat a lot of food so my first step is trying to eat more filling things though I can still eat lots lol
Abbey, what's your take on Soyabean/ tempeh on possibly increasing a person's risk of breast cancer due to the natural estrogen or is just a false finding?
That one’s been debunked!! It actually is correlated with reduced rates of breast and prostrate cancer because the phytoestrogens will actually carry out excess estrogen (in contrast to mammalian estrogen in dairy or meat which we just keep and then builds up).
@@sekar9901 if it's made out of soy, it'll have similar nutritional benefits to other soy products (though I suppose if it's ultraprocessed and accompanied by a host of other things then maybe it's more just for the fun and joy of the food and less for the nutritional powerhouse effect -- both totally valid and great!)
Hey Abbey Could you attempt eating like maddie lymburner when she was vegan? I feel like her diet was pretty balanced and sometimes I really wonder why it didn’t work for her
Great video! You mentioned that nooch has all essential amino acids. Do you have a reliable source for that? I am a dietician student and mentioned that to my tutor but she said i was wrong... I could not find any good sources but I would love to have some good research to prove my point. Thanks so much! :)
Not only fun to watch, but so informative too! Your content has been so helpful to me. I find myself remembering simple ways to add protein to a snack or thinking of the satiety factor.
I drink coffee with a tetch of oatmilk on empty stomach every morning, no problem. But often if I have coffee after lunch it gives me a a stomach ache. I've been wondering why the heck?
I’m not much of a coffee drinker but when I do drink it I’ve been doing- 1 pack of stevia, a bit of zero cal glazed donut coffee syrup, vanilla almond milk, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, a slice of cake and a cookie on top lol
not exactly because ideally you should have carbs with every meal - the eggs are a good source of protein and the avocado is a good source of healthy fats but carbs are the body's preferred source of energy. doesn't have to be toast, even potatoes could be good with eggs and avo
How many people eat liver and onions now? How many of our grandparents ate avocado toast? My theory is, food fashions have to do with culture, availability, and education, along with economic factors.
@@heatherknits124 Sure, but you’re talking about generations of difference in diets vs the statement in the video about avocado toast being so 2018. Like I think we’re talking about different things here. And I’m not hating on Abbey. I’m commenting on the concept that food becomes “outdated” like the internet says skinny jeans are. It’s just silly. (My grandmother made me try liver and onions and is f-ing disgusting. That’s why no one eats that crap anymore.)
@@Corrin27 Yeah, I was chuckling about avocado toast being from 2018. My daughter loves avocado toast! And, how many kids will now grow up liking handmade sourdough bread? But food definitely goes in and out of “style”, even more than just a generational thing. My mom still loves low fat everything. It was very popular when she was a young wife and mother, but I will purposefully avoid anything labeled “low fat” and “heart healthy”… not a a style, or generational difference, but because I don’t need to panic about my preference for butter, and my love of salt. There isn’t a price difference, and fat isn’t enemy #1. But, that is a better science thing. The liver and onion thing I can’t help you with. My mother is disgusted by it, but seems clueless that I have served it, and she eats it. She also says she’s grossed out by liver pâté, but then hardly uses crackers as she scoops it up when I present it as a spread among others. I just do exactly as she always did- I serve food I like, offer nothing else, and make no comments about any of it. And, my mom still doesn’t understand why nothing anyone does makes my son eat the onions from the liver and onions, though. He doesn’t like onions, and there’s no way to cook, prepare, or present them to make him eat them.
