It's all fizzy citric acid water. You're not making any high end cocktails with it anyway so it's fine not to be too particular.

I do the same thing but with cranberry pineapple. Makes a delicious breakfast. Pace yourself though it’s not cool to blackout before noon. Bottle of water in between drinks and you can pass out at a classy 6pm.

Like I understand seven up and sprite taste very different but just go and buy ingredients in more than one store just a gas station store or mini mart for 7 up and liquor store for alcoholic beverages and you're golden

Zillenials or between late gen y early gen z is just old enough to drink (21+) I feel so much more like the second to last (2002 born) drinking alcopops or making cocktails that are either very sweet (like swimming pool and mojito) or taste as organic as possible. Also I am as polite as possible even when pissed because I know how hard it is to work with customers as a sales person

Honestly, the guy wanting to make a 7&7 was completely right. If you want a drink a specific way because those are your tastes, and you’ve grown those tastes over decades you will definitely notice the difference between 7up and Sprite.

"I was browsing your soda pop section, I noticed you don't have any 7-up. What kind of liquor store doesn't have 7-up?" What kind of liquor store has soda?? In my country, the liquor store (which is a chain owned by the state) ONLY sells alcoholic beverages and some alcohol free alternatives (like alcohol free ciders. Oh right, you Americans call cider hard cider.), never any other beverages like sodas and what have you that are used in drinks. Well, tools (like drink measures) and glasses too I think in some locations. Sodas and other drink mixers are sold in the grocery stores
@bluekoala4382
@bluekoala4382 3 месяца назад
Which country, and do you mean that they are not allowed to sell them or it's just not the culture to sell them at the liquor store?
@Toastybees
@Toastybees 3 месяца назад
Well in America liquor stores are not state owned and they can sell whatever they want. We call non-alcoholic cider as 'cider' and alcoholic cider as 'hard cider', seems pretty simple to grasp and uses less words. And soda is literally the classical alcohol alternative drink in America. Soda shops became popular during prohibition when alcohol could not be sold and soda is called 'soft drinks' to differentiate it from alcoholic 'hard drinks'. Having to go to two different stores to get all your drink ingredients sounds terribly inconvenient, sorry to hear you have to do that.

@@Toastybees Uses less words? We literally call alcoholic ciders by just one word: cider. Alcohol-free ciders are called, well, alcohol-free cider. That's pretty simple, no? Also, what you call cider. we call something else: must. And it's not inconvenient at all to have to go to two different stores, what do you mean? We can literally buy snacks, and food and whatnot while we're at it while buying the drink ingredients. Pretty darn convenient, no?

@@bluekoala4382 Sweden. The only beverages they sell are wine, beer, spirits, you name it. Beer with ABV of 3,5% or lower can be sold in any grocery store, while ciders can have an ABV of no more than 2,25 to be sold in grocery stores, all other alcoholic beverages can only be sold at the chain. When the king at the time abolished all restrictions on alcohol in 1766 after several unsuccessful attempts at regulating it, virtually every household began making and selling alcohol, and by the start of the 19th century there were over 175 000 home distilleries (note: my country at this time had a population of about 2,3 million). 1837 saw the start of a temperance organization, which was promoted by the king and Church. 1850 alcohol started being regulated by the state. Then, during World War I alcohol was rationed, which continued even after the war. In 1955 all regional monopolies were merged into the nation-wide state owned monopoly. So basically, a history with alcoholism that led to control of and monopoly on alcohol sales to drive down alcohol consumption. I believe it's more so the fact that the chain does not earn profit on sales and that they (probably) reason that selling drink ingredients in the same store would promote drinking instead. Also, they mention in all commercials (yes, they do commercials, but that's for the sake of spreading what they are about. It's educational advertising) that they never do sales and discounts (like "buy 2, get 1 free") as these promote purchasing a product, which is completely against their ethos considering their goal is to lower alcohol consumption, not increase it.

@@ZhadTheRad Thanks for the explanation. I used to work in a liquor store (In Australia) and sometimes visitors from other countries would be confused that we had specials on some products, like they thought something must be wrong with the product. This makes a lot more sense now. It's interesting to hear how other places do it.
