La Crosse 513-1419BL is the perfect clock! I especially like the top display mode showing the day of the week. It was quite easy to set up even before watching this very informative video. I also like the "free standing" option as I have it on a night stand and can immediately see what day it is when I awaken. Gloria in your Customer Support was very helpful with my additional questions. Thank you La Crosse Technology!

>Clock will automatically searching at UCT 7,8,910,11 does it mean real life time or time that indicated in clock? there's two options for reception 1) manually set clock, leave it on window or outside wait for that time(clock indication) 2) just push reset, and wait for that in real life time for example if i live in virginia, clock indicates am3:00 than starts auto reception
@lacrossetechnology

Our digital atomic clocks will automatically search at these times based on either the out of box clock time or the manual set time you've entered via the settings menu. Why set the time and date in steps 7 through 11 if it is an atomic clock that is supposed to update automatically?
@lacrossetechnology
@lacrossetechnology 3 года назад
Great question, Erik! We still recommend manually adjusting these time and date settings from the start, as it can sometimes take a few days for the clock to receive the WWVB radio signal coming from Fort Collins, CO. This allows users to use the clock accurately out of the box and gives customers who may not be able to receive this signal the ability to use the device as well. We're here to help if you should have any further questions. 😊

Are there any atomic clocks that simply check in with wi-fi or bluetooth or something the same way your phone and PC does? That would be far more efficient than waiting hours or days for it to sync with a spotty signal.
@lacrossetechnology

Radio-controlled atomic clocks, like the ones shown in this video, are unique in that they often only need batteries to function and do not need a Wi-Fi connection for accurate time updates. I bought this clock for an elderly friend that was having trouble remembering the day of the week or the date. There is no way he will be able to set this up. I thought the point was that it was an "atomic clock" and would set everything up automatically. I'm pretty disappointed. And the one I ordered did have a power cord...but STILL requires 2 batteries? Why?
@lacrossetechnology
@lacrossetechnology 3 года назад
Hey Joseph, we are truly sorry to hear this and apologize for any inconvenience. Though this clock does offer atomic time accuracy, it will typically require a few setting adjustments for proper use in your specific location. The settings menu instructions starting at the 2:24 mark in this video are pretty thorough, and should only need to be adjusted once during the initial setup. No further intervention should really be required after that point. These instructions can also be found in the full manual here: bit.ly/513-1419blv3_manual -- assuming a printable text document may be of better use. In regards to the power cord, this is required on all of our current units that have a built-in backlight or color LCD display, otherwise the batteries would drain far too fast. As noted in the beginning of this video, we do offer two different versions of this clock, one with and one without the backlight. The non-backlight version will not light up at night, but will run without the need of a power cord. Once again, we apologize for any trouble and appreciate your feedback. If you should have any further questions please just let us know.

Hi Caryn, to shut off a sounding alarm simply press any button besides the SNOOZE button. To activate or deactivate the alarm feature altogether, press the ALARM button to view the alarm time, when viewing this time press the ALARM button again to activate/deactivate it. The alarm Bell Icon will be visible when active. Steps for this are covered on page 4 here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/5/1/513-1419bl_042618.pdf

Hi Inacio, sorry about that. If you own a back-lit model, be sure the power cord is securely plugged into the display, and your outlet has power running to it. Battery power only will not allow for a constant backlight. With the power cord installed, simply use the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to select your backlight intensity. HI-LO-OFF.

@@lela1120 Our sincerest apologies for the delayed response. If your product did not come with a power cord, it likely does not offer a backlight option and will run fully on battery power only. I have what's called model BBB86095 (would seem to be 513-1419) There's NO mode button on or any buttons on top. There are set, +,-, alarm and snooze buttons on back. So....exactly HOW do I go about setting time and other functions on this thing ? your website and manual are not helpful. Seems to me having clearly defined instructions and how to operate the device would be a priority. Hopefully you can provide proper guidance on how to solve what would be a basic question.

The correct instructions for your item can be found here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/b/b/bbb86095_english.pdf with the settings menu starting on page 3. @@lacrossetechnology My B886095 is displaying seconds, not out door temperature. I went thru the menu and the last selection is for centigrade or fahrenheit, why is it showing seconds instead of temperature ? All batteries are good....also in a model that's supposed to display temperature, WHY would there even be an option for seconds ? Makes no sense at all. Please provide info as to solve problem, thanks.

How do I set the correct hour? It says "4:53, but the correct Central Time Zone time is 4:53. I tried putting one of the two clocks I bought in a southern window, and it set itself to the correct time. But the second clock I bought will not set itself to the correct time no matter what I do. How do I get it to set the hour correctly? Thanks.

Hi Al, we apologize for the troubles getting your clock set up. However, we do want to note that the models featured in this video don't exactly include weather features, only your indoor temperature. If you'd like more information on a model that does include weather data, we'd be more than happy to help point you in the right direction. In the meantime, our website could be a good resource. Here's a link to other digital wall clocks that do include weather and outdoor data: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/time/digital-wall-clocks#clock_features=outdoor-temperature&gan_data=true -- If you have any questions, just let us know.

When you say "won't work", what exactly do you mean? When you press the MODE button and either your F or C appears in the bottom right corner, do you see dashes for your temp, or no temp at all? If so, try performing a basic restart. The steps for this can be found here: bit.ly/LaxTech_BasicRestart

Hey Rico, we are deeply sorry to hear this and apologize for any inconvenience. If your clock did not adjust automatically for the daylight saving time change, it is likely that it was not receiving the WWVB signal from Fort Collins, CO or that the settings were not set correctly. For instance, be sure to have your Atomic and DST settings set to ON and your Time Zone set correctly within your item's settings menu. After this, moving your clock near a window, away from other electronics, and having the front or back of it face Fort Collins, CO will help increase its chances of catching this signal and having it adjust your time automatically. If you find yourself in a predicament where the time hasn’t adjusted automatically, it may be best to make sure to have your settings adjusted correctly, but to also set the clock manually for the time being. This will allow the clock to remain at the correct time even if the WWVB signal is picked up in the future. More about how this signal works can be found here: bit.ly/AtomicTime Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the WWVB signal will reach all locations. For instance, if you live in a valley, are surrounded by buildings, or have other strong radio signals nearby, these can all cause interference, which can delay or even fully block this radio signal from reaching your clock. We are truly sorry for any inconvenience. If you should need any further assistance, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page.

Hey Emil, our apologize for the trouble. There are many factors such as distance, interference, and location within your home that can disrupt the WWVB signal reception coming from Fort Collins, CO. For our digital models, there will be an Atomic Icon that will stay lit up on the screen when this signal is received. If this icon is not ON or if your Atomic, DST, or Time Zone settings are not adjusted correctly, this may lead to incorrect times. Moving your clock near a window, away from other electronics, and having the front or back of it face Fort Collins, CO will help increase its chances of catching this signal and having it adjust your time automatically (typically happens within 3-5 nights). If you find yourself in a predicament where the time hasn’t adjusted automatically, it may be best to make sure to have your settings adjusted correctly but to also set the clock manually for the time being.
