The humanoid demons are a little funny in the context of this game. Everyone is scary looking demons and have to deal with the horrific new forms, meanwhile you turned into a fairy 🧚

@@BigKlingy Yes, single-target -Dyne spells are generally better for Single-Target foe, and multi-target random hitting spells are better when there are at least 2 targets. The only skills in this game that surpasses King Frost variant of Cocytus' Freeze chance are the Combo skills Crystal Dust & Serph's Gun Combo. Both of which have 60% Freeze Chance, so any enemies without any Freeze resistance will have a near-guaranteed chance of being Frozen in DDS1 at least.

I found guides saying there were 5 keys total, Sugar, Gold, Silver, Wood and Metal, but I'd never seen video footage of the Wood and Metal ones before. So... I suffered to show them off. Please don't try getting them. It's not worth it.
I think that right around this point in the game is the best time to shoot for the Soul Mantra on characters so that you do not need to switch people in and out of the party. Your party members actually keep their mantras in New Game Plus, even though they don't keep their levels. Also, Titanias are THE enemy to grind off of because in an optional section of the Samsara Tunnels, there is a hallway where the only enemies that you can encounter are Titanias, a Pixie, or a pair of Arahabakis that show up as reinforcements.
I personally like using a variety of characters in battle, just going with one team of three and leaving everyone else out of the party with Soul isn't as interesting to me. Titanias can also drop Cells, so you grind both money and exp/ap.
@@BigKlingy I hear you. Arahabakis are special in that they are the enemy that you farm Vital Noises off of, but they can also drop Cells too. IIRC, Arahabaki can potentially drop a Fusion Cell, which is a more valuable Cell than the Theory Cell that the Titania can drop.

King Frost being immune to fire is odd to me. (I'm also now well acquainted with King Bufula and imagining how much harder the fight would be if he could pull out debuffs on top of the freeze status.)
Funnily enough I just beat that fight in V yesterday. I had Jack Frost with Ice Block to deal with that. It's also one of the quests that gives an "Edgelord Yoko" comment. Yoko: Seeing the angels vs demons conflict in black and white is bad. Also Yoko: Advocates murdering King Frost for no reason.

Last major thing was me beating one of my favorite bosses/demons from the OG. A good note to end on before I drag myself back to Master Duel. But I might avoid burnout by just alternating between which days I play these games so long as I make enough progress in Master Duel. As for Master Duel itself... Kind of boring with the grinding. Currently at 57/100 now at least. I'm at least playing actual games against people this time, making it less boring, though it means the occasional defeat even in silver which annoyingly slows me down. I also made no effort playing more of Duelist Cup, even with many gems on the line, since it's just boring and I hate it. So yeah, a bad start... However, there is something that might be actually fun for me; This month's try out duels. These are basically mini-events. Normally I don't do them as they don't have a real prize save for one card pack, BUT the reason why I plan on playing this one is it's theme; 2010 Yugioh. I wish these retro formats were a permeant game mode in MD (especially since I missed my chance to play Goat Format for the last similarly themed trial), but I'll take the few days of this one that I can get if it means more enjoyable games than the usual ranked latter. Already made a few decks for this event, so hopefully they perform well and I can grind up the pass that way while having more interesting games.
It is some classic demon dialogue. Now I wonder if someone is going to show off that optional dialogue with the other keys. I bet you could do that thing in Nocturne as well. King Frost is interesting since its modern design comes from the Demikids games which is normally not the case for most other demons in the series. Being necessary for the super boss is one reason why. It is better Glacial Blast considering it hits even more than that with 5-8 hits. With Mind Charge, the damage is going to be very impressive as long as the enemy is vulnerable to ice. With Serph, I will consider getting Ice Amp and Mind Charge once I get Cocytus. It is a weird skill to name without it making it sound you have more evasion against sleep rather than auto evading while sleeping. Good work beating that boss and making more progress with Vengeance. Also good to hear you are making more progress with your grinding. I also like the sound of those try out duels as well so I hope you have fun playing them. As for myself, I haven't found the time to continuing working on my B Spec driver in Gran Turismo 4 but my brother has made more progress with his Three Houses randomizer. This included playing Cindered Shadows to include the Ashen Wolves but I was also reminded by how bad the map design for these maps were. It wasn't too hard for him to get through, mainly because Dimitri still has his Twin Crest powers here. The main reason to do that is because Balthus has been replaced by the Death Knight who has Ancient Dragonskin as his personal which is very strong for its damage reduction. Jeritza was rescued from the Death Claude but we find out the Flame Emperor is Lambert in this run which is interesting to think about. Paralogues have started up too and so far, these have been pretty easy for him as well. The Battle of the Eagle and Lion was also very easy since his squad was much stronger when compared to the enemies. Next month, we also learnt that the faculty seem pretty strong since they come with some free classes, even some advanced ones in the case of Randolph who replaces Catherine and then some enemy only classes including this Super Lord class that is still considered an intermediate class but has really strong base stats and growths as well as 6 move. By the way, Randolph seems pretty strong with his base stats and even has free access to Wyvern as well but my brother is going to make him a Bow Knight in the end. Now it was time for Remire and by this point, Dimitri is a Wyvern who has an extra 2 movement and can move twice in one turn which is really strong. We also find out the humble Felix was the evil Hanneman all along but he was a big pushover for my brother's army. Next time we get to relax and get our dancing unit too. I also decided on the next manga series I want to read as well.

But now I want to know why the game thought of all of the methods to survive a super boss's ultimate attacks to make mandatory, they went with effectively rolling over in your sleep to dodge it. Yeah, Cocytus on its own is stupid, but a Cocytus that the player can boost even more is utterly absurd. Many thanks for both matters. I'm hoping so too. Hope things go well with working on the B Spec Driver. Also... That's a lot to process with today's randomizer session. At first I was going to say that Cindered Shadows isn't that bad since it's only really Map 3 that sucks, but then you said your brother still had all of his randomized units for it, so now I can't imagine the hell of playing a 7 map DLC designed with VERY specific units in mind with a completely randomized cast. At least your brother made it through and now has an absurd Balthus. Wait, Balthus still remained the same (excluding the broken skill mind you)? Huh, weird... Anyway... Okay, wasn't ready for that either; Guessing Dimitri's going to know how Luke felt after learning the truth about Vader. Also good to see your brother get the faculty units and find some powerful ones there to help him out. @@jaredfayette2567 I imagine some of that dialogue is going to be funny. Maybe it is something to try and replicate in this game too. SMT super bosses really like you doing very specific things to help beat them. It will be really fun to see in action especially with a lot of skills to boost its power. It wasn't really difficult but the map design felt kind of slow and tedious and the reinforcements aren't that fun to deal with either. Balthus is now a playable Death Knight. I remember we were wondering who the Death Knight was going to replace before. The plot in this randomizer is proving kind of interesting. It is going to be fun to see what Alois and Seteth is going to be like later. It is too bad that evil Hanneman won't be sticking around that much. I think my brother already has a pretty good candidate. I did read the first volume and I like what I am seeing so far.

Hail to the King. The King Mantra. Aka. The you should master this mantra. One half because Cocytus the other Null Sleep. I am sure everyone’s reaction to getting this originally was. ‘Oh sweet. Now I won’t have to worry about sleep and losing turns. *goes into battle, still gets put to sleep* what!? Oh this is BS. *either ignored they dodged an attack when asleep, the enemy didn’t attack the sleeping party member or noticed and thought it was useless* oh this is clearly one of the worst skills in this game.’ Then they meet the Superboss and look up a guide and go ‘WTF this skill is pretty much mandatory to beat this guy?’ I’m also part of that line of thinking except I thought the skill was bugged cause no enemy attacked any sleeping party member which made me angry when I found out the strat to defeat the Superboss. But it is kind of a funny skill when you think about the characters effectively learning to sleep walk dodge any attack including nukes and the ground erupting pure energy

King Frost differs from most of the demons in that he could just as be an invention of Atlus, While a Jack Frost who was a King was the main character in the 1873 Short Story The Frost Faires, giving him precedent but Atlus has been creating Jack Frost variants for a long time, creating demons either from puns on the name, like Jack Frost or ones based on other original characters, and Jack and King are both playing card ranks. While we don’t know exactly how the Junkyard exists, Why are Atma Avatars specifically named and based on real life mythological and folklore figures. And a slight tangent related to that, being that when discussing a certain Persona based on a character in the series from Persona 1 and that characters English name. I had a weird epiphany that Alfred Pennyworth would actually make some sense as a Persona, he’s a well known figure who represents a common archetype to see in stories, The English Butler. The Persona series both isn’t a stranger to using things definitely intended to be fictional, figures from HP Lovecraft have been the Personas of two major antagonists in the series and figures that are less than a century old, Alfred is older now at 81 years since introduction than Nyarlthrotep was in Persona 1. 14:10 King Frost summoning the Hee Horde from Hell. 14:18 That is admittedly smart of them, touching up a 3D model they already have rather than creating a new one from scratch. Which can take a long time and takes time away from other parts of the project, Which I feel is probably why Atlus games in the HD Era tend to have a lot of overlap in demons, Since tit allows them to use 3D HD assets they already have, Since a demom being added in 3D for the first time would have to be made from scratch I have seen this kind of approach being called lazy in Pokemon Sword and Shield, the models used were reworked to look better in HD but were still the same models. 25:32 While Null Sleep does have utility for the super-boss but based on what it does I can’t see it as any more than being helpful, Since it does makes being asleep way less annoying since you are safe from attacks during a time that character cannot do anything to ensure their survival. 26:35 Cocytus does seem strong, While it does seem like King Frost is the weakest of the Bonus Bosses and hence the unique manic skill he gives should be comparatively weaker, but he is level wise close to the level of the boss of the Penultimate Dungeon. 26:40 40% Freeze, that seems somewhat low for it to be super reliable without the context that Cocytus can hits 8 times with an independent chance of doing so, it’s likely activating atleast once. Albeit Felix’s Crest of Fraldarius is 40% and I’ve seen that go off constantly, even before considering how Felix tends to get two attacks per combat.
