Digital Infrared, even in the street! 

Great video and pictures! The infrared flash is a super cool idea and I love the results. It's like you completely remove the stuff that helps you recognize the time and place. Very interesting.

It's rare to talk about electro magnetic radiation in the silicon domain as frequencies, wavelengths in nm are most common. That's also what the filters are dominated at. And it's an inverse relationship where higher frequencies are shorter wavelengths. I haven't seen a variable IR filter, which seems like an interesting concept for hyperspectral images. Do you got a reference for what you mean specifically? As for using "artificial" infrared light, you should see 820nm lights being used for motion detection, face unlocks, self driving cars... So there is 'invisible' sources of light all around the city. Have you ever had the chance to see wavelengths much longer? Perhaps 8-12μm, it's not comparable.

Hmmm this may inspire me to do an infrared conversion on one of my cameras soon.. lovely work especially the landscape and architectural stuff!
