I have Got This (100V - 10A) Meter and i have found that 2 Adapters was written 9V and Coming 17V :D and another 13.3V and coming 6.5V. Now About Meter: You Can Use Meter Only With AC Adaptor Or Battery - To Turn on. Use Minimum 3V Maximum 12V and Maximum 1.5A. Use thin red (+) and thin black (-). thick Red - is changing Pulses thin Yellow - also changing Pulses thick Black - also changing Pulses 1) Volt measures thin Yellow and thick Black 2) Volt measures thin Yellow and thick Red 3) Amps measures thick Red and thick Black
does your digital Volt/Amp meter has an internal shunt in it's pcb board? I have two digital meters, one has an internal shunt and the other dont. Which one did you use? Thanks.
What happens if we (mistakenly) reverse the direction of the Ammeter connections on the shunt (I.e.we let the current flow in the opposite direction of the ammeter)?
Hello. I got the same meter on ebay. I connected everything like the video for a 24v power wheel ride on car. After about 10 mins of riding. The shunt got really hot. I touch it and it was very hot can not hold on or will get burn. Is it supposed to get this hot? I'm worried it will damage the power wheel car or catch on fire.

How it shoes accurate amp through the shunt?? ... I have tried this connecting method... Shows an amp drop through the shunt.. Tried calibrating through the trimmer... Still in accurate..
Why just not show the diagrams, not sure.. anyway these diagram links actually did the job for me (even though I have one with thick blue wire - that stands in stead of the thick red in those diagrams...oh and one thick red , instead of the yellow one.. - just to know if you have similar): goo.gl/eZvq2c goo.gl/lHKSN3 One more thing - ammeter needs a good load over 250 mA to start showing anything at all.. at least on the device I have. so don't be tricked that it doesn't work if you test with small load LED - it does. just load it more
The Ammeter is really just another Voltmeter and simply measures the voltage drop across a resistor - that resistor needs to be both big to cope with the 50 Amps and relatively low resistance so as not to drop too much voltage (upsetting the load) and not get too hot. The shunt is just a big resistor.
Depends on your meter and how much current you're trying to measure, but yeah you probably can. The meter I have can use the same power (minimum 3.5V) as long as i'm measuring under 10A. But I might go a little over 10A so it needs separate power. I'm using it for an ATX power supply conversion, so I'm powering the meter with the +5VSB rail and using it to measure the +12V rail.
