The greatest voice in the World. Dimash knows no limits. His songs cannot really be classified as any one genre because he blends so many sounds and techniques - he's practically created his own genre !! And he's only going to get better. The song means a lot to Dimash for a couple of serious reasons. He discovered it as a result of the performance of the song by Gregory Lemarchal, a young, talented reality show contestant on a French TV series where he was required to sing, act and dance. Gregory had cystic fibrosis and only 25 percent of his lung capacity but went on to win the show. Shortly before his death while waiting for a lung transplant at the age of 23, Gregory sang this song live a couple of times in front of French audiences. This occurred in 2007 at a time when Dimash was coming into his own and looking for role models. Later, Dimash's friend, Denis Ten, an Olympic medalist in figure skating, was murdered at the age of 25 by a couple of guys stealing items off his car in Kazakhstan. I believe these incidents come to mind every time Dimash sings the song and is why it is performed so emotionally.
An additional note about the song. As was mentioned Lemarchal died of CF, a lung disease. There was a line in the song about losing your breath or having it taken away. In tribute to Lemarchal, Dimash had stopped singing that line of the song (that's at least one old version, where he does sing that line, 'The Slavic Bazar' version I believe, but meet versions it's always missing.)

He has an old video floating around with the first half of that song but he sings it in a lower octave from the Opera Singer in the movie. The 2nd half of the song which was done by computer because it has the alien voice overlap itself, can't be done by any humans but Dimash do come so close! 5th Element ... Diva Dance ... yes, that was an opera singer and they had to use a synth to help her do that song ... Dimash does a cover, without any synth!! He's just that amazing. He's the only singer that scares me ... literally ... he has a new song "One Sky". It's more of a short story I believe ... I was only able to watch the intro to the video before he started singing ... maybe the first 1 or 2 minutes, but I had to stop it as it looked like it was going to be too intense to watch unprepared. Some day I will gather up the courage to watch it, but it's going to take some courage. Not that all of his songs aren't increadible, but I would suggest 'Stranger" then 'ogni pietra' (RU-vid search for Dimash ogni pietra' and it should be the first one (Olympico) to come up. You've pretty well hit the end of the Internet in terms of vocal artists when you've found Dimash, but there are other great singers and entertainers out there as well that are hidden from us in the West in our 'pop bubbles'! Hard Rock: Start off with 'Band-Maid' ('Domination Live', is IMO not their best song, but it's a incredible introduction to an almost perfect hard rock band.) Metal: BABY METAL: a unique metal band that's been around 10 years, started off when the singers were 12,10 & 10, and can best be described as Metal theatre ... if you're a metal fan you can watch one BABY METAL concert and see more genres of metal, played by the best metal musicians in the world, than you would if you spent the whole summer traveling around to the major metal festivals (they mix all genres of metal, at first with J-Pop, then they branched out to all forms of world music, mixing metal with everything from Bollywood, to Thai rap, to Dance, to .. well everything. I'd start with something like 'Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of Metal Gods Intro as a start just to see how seriously good this band is (other songs can sometimes be mistaken as less serious to the casual observer.) Pure Entertainment: KZ Tandingan: A filipina singer. A a young teen she was going to be a start, with an incredible vocal range, unfortunately she had to have some throat surgery that didn't go so well and she lost a lot of her range. She was going to quit, but her father convinced her to continue and insterad of relying on her gift og 'range' she should take what she had left and make it as good as she could and show people that extreme range is not all there is to singing ... and oh boy, did she ever take that advice to heart. I'd suggest starting off with her cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep (RU-vid search 'KZ Tandingan rolling in the deep' and it should be the first video that comes up. And then just continue from there ... there is so much great music coming out of Asia over the last 10 to 15 years (or longer) it will blow your socks off.

Diva Dance Bastau by Dimash. Yes, he can in fact do that and Queen of the Night. We only have him doing Queen of the night playing around. He also did the cover of Lionel Richie's Hello, All By Myself and My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills. This song was written by Eric Serra for an alien opera singer in this movie and was not considered singable for a human voice. Parts of it were computer generated. There a some female singer who performed this song, but in my opinion not as precise as Dimash. And he is a male! Please react to the Diva Dance from his Bastau concert. It’s a short one but mind-blowing. What fascinates me the most is, that he sang this song in his concert where he had already been on stage for almost 2 hours. Just unbelievabel🤯. It’s called Drunken Concubine and it is from the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in China. He sings with a great Chinese Opera singer who usually plays a female in classic Peking opera Li Yugang. Thank you for the video and yes, you are just scratching the surface. You will be blown away by Olympico, he is a one-man opera on that one. Ave Maria, he sounds like an angel, and Ikanaide, he has breath control which leaves you breathless. If you are familiar with Lara Fabian, he does a cover of her songs. Adagio, unbelievable, and at the age of 22 at that time, and Mademoiselle Hyde. No words, just prepare to be continually amazed. I better stop here before I get carried away..but it's hard. He opened the annual competition show I Am Singer in 2017 held in China with SOS. It is an annual Chinese competition / reality show of sorts where professional Chinese singers from different genres compete over 14-15 weeks of the show running for the title of Chinese Singer of the Year. Dimash was the youngest ever contest and first ever non-Chinese contestant special invitee. He was a virtual unknown to the audience, judges and fellow competitors. He came with a resume though and everyone was eager and excited to get to see him perform. He had won every international singing competition he had participated in up to that point. After performing SOS, Dimash had to have bodyguards for the remainder of the competition. He finished 2nd in I Am Singer that year largely due to the rules not allowing for a non-Chinese contestant to be Chinese singer of the Year. He was also awarded Chinese Newcomer Singer of the Year. The uproar that resulted forced the show to change its rules for the following year to allow for non-Chinese to actually win. After the show's run, Dimash released a CD that went platinum in under 1 minute and triple platinum in under one hour. Dimash spent the majority of the next 2 years in China and that show was a springboard to a larger world stage for his career. Subbing to enjoy u discovering more Dimash.
