Great build, as always Mike. Love watching your videos as you’re all about the small details which so many makers disregard. Of course I also love the apprentices brief yet highly anticipated appearance. So sweet.
Thank you. Like all of us, I started building things and focused on the big picture, as my skills improved, I have tried to really get the small things just right, of course without forgetting the big picture. I love showing off the little guy. He is the center of my universe. Happy to hear you enjoy his appearances.
I really enjoy going back to this very good video! I am a finish carpenter/contractor and go back & forth between these cabinet builds! It’s really a pro for pros video Thk u Mike ! It’s u ; inside carpentry, & next level! You are one of the best teachers for pro carpenters!
You’re craftsmanship is amazing. You’re type work will be handed down as family heirlooms and that is something to be very proud of. Look forward to all your videos.
@@MikeFarrington I know I'm late to the party here but I'm also interested in your spraying process. Did a quick search through your videos and didn't see one. Have you had time to put that together yet?
@@MikeFarrington - Love your videos. Nice blend of skill and humor. I'm with the others in terms of looking forward to a video on your spraying process.
I absolutely love the little tidbits of wisdom you’ve gained over the years, that you add in as you recognize them when narrating. Thanks so much for that. Kind of like “hey I’ve noticed over the years that when doing X, it’s easier (or more effective) to do it this way” such as adding the extra piece when routing thin wood, or cutting off the length ends of the miters instead of cutting the length before adding the piece. I learn just as much from those added things as I do from watching your methods. So so so cool. Thank you thank you thank you. I can learn from your years of experience to make my own work better.
Yup... still watchin older videos from you Bud!! So utterly enjoyable watching you create fantastic pieces of furniture. Hope all is well & Dirty Jersey out!!!
Hey Mike! Huge fan of all of your videos. Just gotta say how much I like your shop and it's layout. You can tell by watching you work that you have it really dialed in to your needs and you're never fumbling around trying to find the best way to do a task. I really admire your craftsmanship and attention to detail, thanks for giving us a look at how a pro gets it done!
Very nice. The end product looked very sturdy and contemporary. Thank you for taking the time to create the video and post it. Your narration is very clear and explanatory which makes the video better.
You are by far the best proper woodworker on youtube!!! You are not purely reliant on pocket holes!!! As most YT woodworkers are. Stay true to what you do!! :D
I'm building a bench very much like this , not as long which will be the middle of a built in unit with a cushion for my dog to lay on and look out the window , got alot of tips from your video which will help me very much . Thank you , your's is so beautiful , well done sir ! Love it !!!!
Great build. Thank you for sharing. If there are young toddlers in the customer's home, adding some ventilation holes at the back might be a good consideration
Looks great!!! If you haven’t already done so, I’d love to see the set-up for your compressor. More specifically the dryer you use and some more details. Keep ‘em coming Mike!!! I appreciate the effort your giving up for all the projects. Just think, today it’s the dust pan. Before you know it, he’ll be getting his drivers license & working right beside you!!! It’s really cool how your sharing your family. Pray big because god answers huge! God Bless You & Yours!!!!!! K
Absolutely stellar work as usual. I would put in a vote for a finishing video... it's absolutely one of the keys to really getting stellar results. I would love to see your process for spray finishing. Have a great weekend!
The table build is underway. As is a coffee table. Thank you for the kind words. That was one of my minimum objectives when making videos. I didn't want the shaky cell phone look.
Just started following your channel Mike and I really like your content and delivery. Yes, I would really like to see a video on your painting process. Thanks!
I absolutely learned the proper way to build this bench as well as furniture in general. I would have built the box and then applied all the edging, I like that you framed it, biscuits etc, this keeps all the face event and that is normally where I spent time sanding to remove lips from the nailer pulling a board tighter than another. Also gives me reason to buy more tools.....thanks it was a great video.
Great job as ever Mike. I'm in the UK where we all share 6 square feet. Your shop is huge and is so cool. I'd say you were lucky but we both know there's more to it than that. I wish you life long good health to enjoy it buddy. I'm 60 and have been prematurely stopped by serious illness. I have a small but well equipped shop and haven't opened the door for 6 months. Imagine that!
Mike I've seen that every piece that is built by you is done in a very precise and professional quality matter. Therefore I see coaster that you must charged according to to your outcome. Beautiful work and charged like a professional wood worker . because every single piece is precise and gorgeous outcome. You do second to none. Outstanding woodwork and painting is also done like it it is done for a million dollar house work. Not a single mistake. You should be proud of your worksmanship. Down to the t. Beautifully.
Great episode! I like the way you Store your wide belt sandpaper high above your head. I store them the same way you do, i’m going to move them up like how you have yours. Mine take up so much shop room.
Your an artist on profection on delicate wood. Perfect, nice and clean craftsmen. Pro skills! Making good effort into your work. Very beautiful. Thank you.
Love to see your spraying process Mike...Funny thing is just sprayed last night (pine table legs using General Finishes Milk Paint and I got grain raising on the wood. No primer. I told my wife after I was done...should have listened to Mike..
Love your work. I recently bought a a Wagner control pro 250. So I would be interested to see your spray process. Keep the videos coming Mike. Great work.
This is exactly what I'm looking to build but L shaped for a kitchen, the storage space interior is Neat and clean, I need to work out something like this where I have top cushions of course but then also triangular shaped back cushions (rather then random pillows) as mine will be under a series of windows but being able to lean back a tiny bit might be required. nice work, hope my recreation comes out as clean as yours.
Awesome video love the detail you go into on the entire project. I would really like to see you do a video on finishing for sure. Thanks again for helping me out !
Mike, I wanted to let you know that you totally sold me on the Kem-Aqua. That stuff is amazing. Anytime I have a painted project now, I only use that and their accompanying primer. I cant tell you how many pro-tips I picked up from you. I've been bing watching your Kumiko videos in preparation for some Matt Kenny style boxes. Thanks for your contribution!
love to hear about spray set up. dry times with each type of finish. think you do a nice job on both your work and the vids. not much if any missing info while not getting into too much detail. thanks mike!
Hey Mike I have watched nearly all of your videos and am fascinated by you skill. I would certainly like to see a dedicated video on your spray setup/process.
Mike, I finally got around to making these benches. I actually made two to put into a corner of a kitchen breakfast nook. Each of them were 5’. I followed your design almost to a T. Assembly was a little different to work with the tools I had and I used European hinges and a slow close hinge. They turned out fantastic and look identical to yours…wish I could show you a picture…very happy with the finished product and all based on your design . Thank you!
Another great project. I am working on a farmhouse style bed for my daughter and will be spraying it when complete. I would love to see your process and tips.
Nice bench. I am planing a build similar to this but a bit longer. I will use the same hinges and pretty much copy your bench right down to the finish coat. I really like your shop. Very spacious and clean. I need to work on mine.
There's always little tips to take away from your videos. I didn't multi-task while this was on, so that says a lot about how interesting your content is. Looking forward to the dining table build.
Thanks for the tip on the shop made rubber band clamps. I have 2 Rockler bandy clamps, but they are pretty expensive for what you get. I would like to have a lot more of them for edge banding.
