If they keep jumping out of the water, you should check water parameters. Probably there is an issue with the water.

Beutiful tank! Mine is similar style, about 1.5 months, loaded with plants. Regarding snails upside down. I don't have fancy snails, only little "pond" snails. I once saw a snail landed on the sand upside down, wanted to help it out, but was interested if it can do something about it himself. After about 5 minutes it managed to partially get out of the shell to grab onto the sand and turn over. I noticed that it was really hard for this guy to do that. Not sure how bigger snails will do

Beautiful tank! Have you considered getting other kinds of shrimp? Or do you not want to chance them breeding and mixing colors. Also, have you considered getting some water from a stream or pond to put good microbes and organisms in your tank? They can help break down waste as well as provide a food source for your fish. Keep up the good work 😊

Water temperature around 25-26 c . My home temperature is stable, if not you should use heater.

Fascinating aquascape, ecosystem and excellent video and editing skills. A few questions; where did you get the wood for your build? What kind is it? I have an established 55 gallon with just sand. If I were to switch to dirt with a sand cap like you, how long would I have to wait before I could safely put my fish back in?

Hi@@peaceofnaturee , I use Microsorum pteropus "narrow" and HYGROPHILA PINNATIFIDA plants. I always turn on the lights 8 hours a day, change the water, and use fertilizer. At first the plants grew well but then they turned yellow and died. .

It’s not a silly question! Unfortunately we can’t keep turtle in a dirted tank because they will disturb the substrate so much.

So today I went to Petco and bought several plants. The Petco employee told me I did not need to buy liquid fertilizer for the tank because I used fluval stratum substrate. I am concerned because many of my plants will be attached to wood and rocks. Do I need to put fertilizer in the water for those plants attached to rocks and wood?

You don’t even need fluval stratum substrate for these kind of plants. You don’t need any fertilizer.

@@peaceofnaturee some were saying use substrate in bags for less disturbance. And yeah I wanted to plant some that grow alot and fast for some snacks. Like duck weed . Or a few other plants. So I won't have to trim. My turtle can snack on em.
