Listening to that tune for years and still amazed. The bridge is so Methenyesque and all the rest is so tasty. How come these gentlemen are not yet topping the charts ?
I just listened to this song over and over again while driving along a narrow winding road through the mountains, surrounded by trees changing into their fall colors, and overlooking one of my favorite lakes. It was downright spiritual.
These young Swedish men continue to amaze with their approach to music, and the implementation of incredible grooves that come so smoothly for them. They should be an inspiration to musicians and music lovers everywhere. They love music. They love playing it. Imagine if pop music had the same love of music itself, rather than image or money! I came across these guys by accident when I found their Samsung Horizon song. I have been mesmerized by their creativity and arrangements from cover music to their original pieces. I am 66 and truly love the way Dirty Loops uses such a mixture of styles within each song they play.

I've played with my saxophones everything from jazz to fusion, acid jazz, R&B, soul, new age, new wave, rock, pop, bossa, latin, latin jazz, funky, country, dance 80 etc. and I've listened to millions of artists, bands, singers etc. that’s why I just want to let you know that your talent is beyond imagination and the approach to music at the moment I would say it’s unique all over the world. I haven't listened to anything but your music for about two weeks. You drive me crazy! "I have a dream" I would love to play even only one song with you. The emotions, the vibrations that I feel when I listen the set of sounds, rhythmic and harmonic combinations into your music and your voice Jonah, are incredible (a mix of M. Jackson and S. Wonder). You make me feel so happy to live and as well you give me the right energy to be strong and do better and better even after a serious illness. Solo, you know what, I had to respond to your comment because I just finished watching another video of there's and I was thinking the exact same thing about him. Like really, I wish somehow they could participate in a tribute to Stevie Wonder while Stevie is still alive, because these guys would really do Stevie's genius some justice, because they are so good!
melodically & tone wise i’d say another vocalist- moreso. listen to stokley williams and you will hear the spirit of this dude. this band has been listening to mint condition like bosses they are. They have the m.c. catalog-david foster- toto- tribal tech- victor wooten 😎
What I always hear a lot of in Jonah's solos is Russell Ferrante of the Yellowjackets. Suspect he has listened to him a lot and also uses a lot of the same kit.
The whole song is insane but that solo!!!! That whole section is unreal and ABSOLUTELY reminiscent of Pat Metheny. Like perfectly dialed into his style!! I cannot get over this version 😍 You guys killed this!!

@@EthanArco FAR FROM THAT. Due to musical frustration they took a hiatus and did their open personal work. The most quiet one was the drummer, Aaron. Didn't hear much of anything from him. They have a new album coming out. Their first new video on May 20th would be a single from the upcoming DIRTY LOOPS album.

omg - getting sucked into the Dirty Loops universe is so unique and addictive because... they transcend Pop and Jazz into another Fusion realm where it meets FONK and it´s very hard to fiind a way out. I am an old bloke and I love the less catchy music of the past too... I gotta get out of that juicy DL prison some day ;-) Btw Jonah, Lyle Mays R.I.P. is truly a worthy inspiration - loving the vibe.
The first phrase is an almost direct quote from the first phrase of Metheny's "Heat of the Day" solo from the "Imaginary Day Live" concert. The sound is also pretty spot on :)

The dynamics applied to the keyboard with the very well achieved sound is quite interesting. Pat plays a GR300 synth with a GR 303 guitar controller. Probably one of the few synths that follows natural dynamics since it's not midi. Musically it sounds great in that context too, it's the best "Pat" sound I've ever heard from so many enthusiastic guitar players. It is also necessary to consider that although he plays a keyboard he is a virtuoso as a musician.
