Agreed bro...This one definitely OVER THE RADAR....See why many wont get it. It's up there with Dark Song and Hereditary in terms of authentic Dark Magik. This brought it to front page level in the larger scene. Loved it...
I would agree with you after one watching but having watched it a few times i realised this movie is far cleverer than i first thought..it is literally full of easter eggs and foreshadowing
I actually these like slow burn type of psychological horror thriller movies. Its not like there was nothing in the beggining. He is shown taking photos of dead bodies/crime scene. I also credit it for avoiding a lot of gimmickery in these types of horror movies like the blood coming out of the faucet or whatever. I watched Late with the Devil right before watching this and the last 15-20 min of Disappear Completely was far creepier and unsettling than anything in LWTD which felt lighter and comical.
Love your show beard, "BUT" It's DEFINITELY a CULTURAL thing bro. I'm half Latino, best scary film since Hereditary in my u opinion. That' type of Black MAGIK and Dark Art is VERY REAL in Mexico.I def see why you didnt get it. ...Plus the humor you missed with the borderline slapstick keystone crooked cops had me rolling. Bummer bro you missed a great one like Koean horror is Hella funny to Koreans and scary as sh*@....Seems the ending must be spoon fed to some seeing the comments. Very Deep Choices made in that film. On many levels. Especially the ending . F*@.ing Deep....
Just saw it! Good movie except for the last 20 minutes. It should have led some suspense for maybe a part two or just end the movie with most questions answered. Like why would the witch even be in the senators house that late in the cursed stage…
I never understood why the witch went after the photographer. Him taking photos of the dead senator didn’t change the plans of the witch or of the woman who took the senator’s place. Also why didn’t the witch go after the cop. He was at the crime scene too. I overall liked the film but it was never clear why the photographer had to be punished and why did the witch want the unborn baby? A lot didn’t make sense.
The witch was in the background of the pic..maybe he was concerned he'd be connected but more likely just decided to teach the asshole photographer a lesson. As for the baby that was probably to use in some grotesque ritual..without it making complete sense it's quite a horrible request..and an early nightmare scene had the guy waking up next to his wife who was bleeding from the abdomen and dead. Then there was the corpse with all the knife wounds..she was pregnant too and the boyfriend got the blame but she had what seemed to be ritual knife placement so maybe connected
There was a scene just before he lost his sense of smell where a drop of blood appeared on the baby's scan..he looked to the ceiling before he dabbed his nose then he put the pic on the fridge eith the blood still on it..over the baby. The film is deeper than it seems
I may check it out, eventually. Sorry my ADHD is messing with me and the whole video I just keep thinking. What make the beard haunted? Old Nachos? lmao. Nah. You should occasionally edit in zombies and ghosts popping out of your beard. Lean into your name a bit. lmfao don't listen to me I'm stoned.
I totally disagree with you. This is a brilliant movie and there is no "lost potential" involved. The first part is good and gradually builds into the excellent second part. The last scene is truly exceptional and shows a kind of moral redemption of the central character, for in his final act before losing all of his senses, he makes the right moral decision even if it involves self-sacrifice. Giving this movie a 5 or even a 6 is absurd and does not do justice to the movie.
@@TheHauntedBeard By mistake I added the comment to the Grave Torture video review. My comment referred to the Disappear Completely review. Sorry for the mix-up.
