This will have none to almost minimal effect on sales, the people who buy victorias secret and the people who call things satanic just cause are not just two diffrent circles but two entire planets. No, galaxies away from being the same people.
As much as I had body issues, I always loved the VS fashion show, I even had my favorite angels. I was so disappointed when they took it away. It was always so fun to see the setup, the costumes, the artists performing.
I used to looove the VS show. My parents were pretty strict (arabs), but I was allowed to watch it as a kid (my mom loved it too). By seeing beautifull women and the entire arts of the show, it honestly helped my body image issues and issues around sexuality. Seeing models have fun, looking sexy, but it felt normal and not weirdly sexual? Just very pretty. It made me a litle more proud to be a women and a little bit more proud of my body
there’s a difference between inclusivity and making people look worse on purpose and victoria’s secret crossed that like 😭 like why would anyone buy their product if there’s zero support?
Wouldn't have been a successful as, say, Frederick's of Hootersville. Get Cletus in there "yeah i want me some 'o dem edible underdrawers what taste like biskets and gravy"
Definitely shifted more than a few gears when that magazine came when I was younger holy fuck. Way better than Victoria’s Secret. Like waayyyyyyyyy better
It is. She's a major troll and gives no fucks about anyone else's opinions. She's been online for a super long amount of time and she's got layers of irony and memes from those years.
There is no way like a woman like Brett would ever have to buy her own ring.... not in this century.... not in a thousand years... this my men and women is what refer to as a high quality spouse... and a ton of men know she's 'no hoe'... she is going to be a great wife and mother, end of story.
Been watching you for a while 63 years old Democrat that since watching you I have swallowed that red pill .never was political . But since watching you and your values and the values that you put on your show is totally flipped me out what have I been thinking my whole life? So I took that pill and started looking into the values of conservative and totally 100% agree with all of them well of course there's some of them I would conflicted about but that's what everything isn't it. But just wanted you to know that you definitely reach way beyond your friends group like I said I'm 63 and don't miss any of you videos and I'm not on tick tock I catch them on RU-vid thank you Good luck on your engagement and all that good stuff and I wish you nothing but the best success and health Larry
When I was pregnant with my second child 10 years ago, I gained weight and my husband wanted to buy me some lingerie to make me feel sexy and to let me know he still found me attractive. So he went to the mall to Victoria's Secret and looked around. He didn't find anything in my size and he asked the ladies working there to help him pick something. They said something along the lines of, "We don't offer things for ladies that big" (I was roughly 200 pounds at 5'7" then - big but not THAT big, as my height and my pregnant belly took a lot of the brunt of it). My husband was so outraged that he boycotted them and we've never returned. He still mentions it whenever VS is brought up lol.
I’m about 140 at 5’3”, and a solid 34D, but even I have a difficult time finding something that fits… Plus, the quality is lacking, and I can find something just as pretty, less expensive, and better quality at Target…
The funny thing is, their fit has always been notoriously bad for the average woman, but doubly so for women who arent simply "top-heavy". Got a dumptruck booty but nothing up top? Hour-glass but only a B/C-cup? Petite in general? Youre SOL.
I got the Christmas card with Mariah Carey in it and I opened it and there was one bigger girl I was like no thank you. I want to see the nice skinny models.😅
I loved the size inclusivity aspect of the VS changes, and the addition of plus-size models (because hey, some of us Conservative girls are chunky, too😅 And, we still need to clothe our bodies. But I'm not Lizzo or anything like that, so be nice lmao) - I just didn't like some of the other weird crap that came with it! Lol
I work at a Victorias Secret and every one of my coworkers said it was absolutely awful, it didn’t even take one look for me to not want to watch it. I love my job here but sometimes I just really question what they do.
As a red-blooded American adult male, I have never in my 68 years understood why women let themselves be slaves to this whole fashion thing. You know, trendy crap that’s worthless a month later, etc.. Why be told that wearing particular clothes will make you hip, boost your self esteem, whatever? And then to pay big bucks for the privilege?? It’s a mystery. I had a wife once who complained that I was difficult to clothes shop for. I asked her if she was blind. I’ve been wearing the same types of clothes since I was a kid! Button-down Oxford shirts, well-tailored suits, dress and casual trousers, blazers, excellent ties, dress and casual shoes, jeans, cords, shorts, etc.. Literally 60+ years, and the only thing that’s changed are the sizes. Best part? I can go anywhere feeling fine.
You answered yourself mate, society never pushed it to men. You could go down and get yourself one suit and be set for 5 years, women could not. Women were being pushed amphetamines on national television to achieve a good figure as early as WWII ended, nothing was different in the clothing/makeup department. The standards were never the same, a man could just be semi clean and not face backlash, a woman needed to be dolled up lest they faced backlash at the workplace.
Thing is Victoria's Secret are known for a specific style they've built up for years and that's what they're known for, sexy underwear with gorgeous ladies and great music, why change what was working. There's other brands that can fit the style of what other people want, it's like if you go food shopping and you don't want pasta you just don't buy pasta, you buy what you want.
First, they point out the flaws women impose on themselves, and then they scare them. It's time for a new ad agency. Maybe bring someone out of retirement 😂
I don't even buy from brands anymore, I just thrift all of my clothes at this point, I'm not trying to support anyone anymore 🤷🏼♀️ too much work to try to figure out what's ethical and what's not.
the reason why they chose doja has a deeper artistic meaning. doja highlighted in this song (and in many interviews) how she's feeling good in her skin even though people don't like her appearence because they compare her real beauty with the beauty standard. (the demonic representation in doja's songs makes conotation to how people are perceiving her and it's far from worshiping the devil; people don't dress like a saint/god/personality in order to celebrate their beliefs.) imo victoria secret's choice was influenced by the song "victoria's secret" written by jax, in 2022, which was inspired by one of the 13 year old girl she babysits who tried a victoria's secret bathing suit for a pool party and her friend said something mean about her. whether this atmosphere is permanent or not, i think they did a great choice in acknowledging people's behaviour towards the brand.
I thought doja was being satanic or demonic with her music , what I did not know was that she was actually claiming that she is business women surrounded by demons ( the industry ) .. paint the town red is an old saying ( meaning , let’s not worry about nonsense and let’s have fun ) .. people who have worked hard and need a night out would say let’s go paint the town red .. anyway .. she is criticising and basically giving middle finger to the those who tried to pull her down and resorted to creating false rumours .. the colour red means courage , sacrifice/ hard work , danger .. then it also means passion , love , joy , wealth and good luck .. ..
I wish more people saw it this way. Hate seeing everyone hate on her. Been following Brett for a while but this is her second hate post about Doja so gotta unfollow it just pisses me off and I’m sick of defending her every where although I will continue to
I heard an announcement recently that they are going back to fit attractive woman for their models again. Seems they have learned that woke means broke
