So the Turbocharged Nissan Micra finally hits the dyno, but not all goes well at all.

I'm loving this POS. Those numbers are a bit hard to swallow though. I would stick to the wheel number because the only way that thing is losing ~45hp between the crank and tyres is if the brakes are stuck on. Not saying they aren't - just that a ~36% loss on so little power sounds close to double what it really ought to be.

About 5 years ago my friend used to have 1.8 turbo mk1 Leon cupra r stage 2. Never actually had any issues despite owning it for about 3-4 years. All comes down to how you look after the car

I still daily a modified mk1 Cupra, never had a single engine issue in the 7 years I've owned it. Drive it hard every day too. Still the original turbo at 125,000 miles and 21 years

How have they managed to get 124bhp when the dyno read 84whp. That's a drive train correction factor of nearly 50%!!!

You can't drive a sh!tbox and not expect a little bit of side road action! It's part of the fun 😁If you switch to the 1.3l engine keep the 1l gearbox.

Assuming you turned it off for fuel Would be unrealistically convenient for it to lock up then. I reckon either the gearbox earth is loose. Wouldn't make any difference when it's running untill you then it off. Or the kick wire on the starter has come loose. Either way she should go with a bump start. Not a jump start like you mentioned. Doubt it's locked up imo.

There's life in the old girl yet, Stu and she's given you all she had so far and more. It was inevitable. Just think, after now getting into Nick's feels as well (glassy eye alert, I saw it!) there's only Owen to win over. With it's "charm", and him politely asking the item to leave his work area forthwith, he's proving a tough cookie to crack! I think getting him to do an engine swap (after all tha'ts hte nature of this channel) is just what they need to "bring them together". Haha.

great job 👍. I have a 1.3 Turbo from 1993. power 110 hp and 150 nm with a charge of 0.35 bar (Audi 1.8t 150hp turbo) I'm just building a k10 model in which I'll install the same 1.3 turbo technology and possibly more superchargers, the power target might be 180hp/200nm 😏

could always be a faulty dash, they are coded into the ecu. tbh that does look like a fault on the actual dash though. so i would look at trying to clear fault codes, and see if that helps, if not, you might be able to get your dash fixed

I would still keep dash in mind, as it really is tied into the ecu, you can get your dash repaired at a few places, one I used to work at, but wont advertise, just search for cluster repairs, talk to one of the techs from a better rated company, describe your symptoms - they should be able to say yes its the dash over the phone.@@MotorAddicts

If its coilback 1,0 its 60hp from factory and just wondering your dyno number... I have NA tuned 1,3 micra with 123hp/134nm at crank and from wheels 101hp. But keep up nice work!

For a little more fuel I would put a 5th injector on to the inlet pre throttle. Have it on a little switch to click on when on full throttle so will only be active when on full throttle and full boost. Done this on my ka 1.3 endura-e that i turbo'd. Little ct9 turbo I git for free and all scavenged parts intercooler from a 1996 2.5 tdi passat and modified the charge pipes from it with other pipes and silicone joiners from a c20let astra from scrappys home made turbo manifold, 1.6 zetec throttle body only thing i had to buy was a better clutch think it was a 1.6 sport ka one can't realy remember was £89😂 Done the job a treet. Lasted 9 months being thrash. Was running about 11.5 ish afr so but rich on 12 psi🫣😂

the car aint dead you can see the battery light struggling to stay bright which means the Starter motor that runs off the flywheel (after youve just done a clutch kit) has probably killed the Starter Motor
