Kim is so fascinatingly written to me. He is, almost always extremely no-nonsene and almost unrealistically cool-headed about nearly everything. Some of the only times I've seen him emotionally phased are at racist behavior (usually from Harry) or at threats to Harry's well being. You could say he's emotionally phased by any time Harry causes or aims to cause undue genuine harm, like trying to shoot or hit a child, putting a gun in his mouth, etc. Of course he's emotional but it takes extremes for him to show it. It's so odd and surprising to me when he joins in on things like this, or whistles with you at the sunken car, or dances with you at the church, or wears the jacket with you, or the eyebrow raise. It would almost be a character inconsistency, but there are enough examples that it's actually really common that he slips the act, usually physical comedy. What's peculiar is that his verbal communication is almost unrealistically, constantly stoic and flat and professional, but physical language is much easier to get color from him.
I think there's an Empathy(?) check if you manage to succeed on the Baddest Brow in Town interaction that talks about his almost comically dry sense of humor. Kim is just so well written
My favourite Kim moment so far is when we are looking for odd-sole and hassle the elderly woman at the lorry jam to show us her soles. He sees right away that her boots are the wrong size but lets Harry argue with her for ten minutes to find out she isn't odd-sole anyway. Absolutely brilliant deadpan stinger.
''Usually from Harry'' uhhh that's a self-report if I've ever seen one, I'll have you know MY Harry is the most anti-racist cop in this side of the Insulinde
Imagine something like this in the live action TV show. It would look so weird with two guys suddenly nodding so hard that they start to sweat and fuck up their neck.
It's while talking to Garte after the tribunal, I think it's an empathy check that tells you he was genuinely brave to be there. nod stoically to commend his bravery @@bonogiamboni4830
@@bonogiamboni4830 With Garte, after the tribunal and he's hoping for you to mention him being outside during it. All three of you bad asses nodding stoically.
This feels like a scene from Hot Fuzz, or some other British copper comedy with the officers nodding along with "Yes, bullet holes, yes." "Uhuh. A fully automatic rifle perhaps?" "Mm. And in this day and age, no less." Until one of them cracks their neck.
I love the moments like this you can see how Kim despite being serious can also be fun and silly inside, which adds more to his cool factor lol. I can totally get how he's just straight-faced and also amused at Harry along with just being a good guy.
