In this installment I'll show you how to paint individual panels with very thin oil paint to add more depth and dimension to the Fine Molds Millenium Falcon. Check out the accompanying photos with more detail and more information on my website: fichtenfoo.com.

This is very helpful and a lot easier than I initially thought. Thanks so much for these tutorials. They are very helpful to Star Wars geeks like myself with no model painting experience.

Fitch, you have the best series of painting the Falcon I have been able to find on RU-vid, or anywhere else for that matter. Thanks so much for sharing your techniques as I will be using it on all of my Star Wars models and many others i might add for the rest of my life. I'll never forget who taught me my friend. All the best! Wake

Very helpful techniques! and is great how flat paint allows nicely the use of oils without a clear coat. Just one question, did you added future or any clear coat between every discoloration step?

Hell of a good technique! I’m thinking this can be applied to Star Trek models as well to replicate the “Aztec” panel patterns....🤔

now, for the base coat before you started with the oils, is it just flat paint (acrylic? enamel?) or sealed with something? and would this work with a gloss surface? or do we need the flat to soak it up abit Thanks! Great series!

Is it safe to use lacquer clearcoats (like Testors dullcote) over the oil paint?

Just want to know if you would be doing metal scratches for weathering, I've been trying to learn that technique but cant really find it.

Another great tutorial! Another way to do these panels is a watercolour technique (which will work with oils too). I've done acrylic washes this way and it transfers from paper to model pretty well: watch?v=SdGMi-OMCrg&feature=related Looking forward to the next one!

All of the Abtelung paints can be found on Amazon with the exception of German Ocher. German Ocher is offered, but the product number that's listed and what shows up is plain old Ocher.
