This has been soooooo helpful Tamika. You are my all things HR trainer and have made me a better HR professional. I learn so much from you and I appreciate your willingness to continuously share!💜
Thank you for posting this video! I have an interview for HR Generalist in a few hours, and I'm just trying to cover all potential interview questions (this role would be my ticket out of a dead-end role and so much is riding on my ability to impress today)! I found your questions and answers to be super helpful. I also love your bright demeanor, smile, and radiant positive attitude. Please continue making these helpful videos! Will be checking out more from your channel :)
@@HeyyyHR sorry for the late reply! So they had to choose between me and another candidate. It was a 6 day long deliberation they said was a hard decision. They went with the other. BUT 2 weeks later - guess what? They came BACK to me. Said they opened another role, they wanted us both; so, I landed HR Associate. I start Monday august 31! Thanks for your help ;)
@@talayneeful long story short- YES. At first they picked another candidate - BUT THEN they opened up a role just for me! they called me back, said “we want you!!” Yay!
Love this many things and key points that make me have a glimpse of what I could see moving toward. I am finishing In August my Bachelors in Business Administration. And going to get my SHRM. But getting an idea where to start this is awesome. Just wanting to understand and learn so I can be at my best.
This video was very helpful as I prepare for an HR generalist interview tomorrow I currently work and talent acquisition/recruiting, and have been wanting to transition for sometime. Although I’ve worked In HR as a assistant, coordinator, recruiter and now a TA specialist, I am nervous about bringing it all together.
I actually have an Interview for an HR Generalist Tomorrow. I've only 2 years combined of HR Experience ( HR Assistant 1 year and HR Specialist 1 year) so idk how this will go. I am going to soak in as much info here as I can as prep and will genuinely come back and let you know if I get it or get rejected. Appreciate you regardless!
Great video! Thank you for sharing your HR knowledge alot of great information. I am looking to transition into HR Generalist, HR Coordinator or Benefit Specialist role.
Hey!!!!! Your videos are excellent. Thank you for sharing them. In my current position, I am an entry-level assistant in Human Resources. My company offers great opportunities for growth, which is why I am looking to advance my knowledge in HR. Having watched some of your videos, I have decided to take the SHRM exam. Due to the fact that it is the end of 2022, my exam date will be sometime in 2023. Help is needed with finding the latest study guides and practice questions. Would you be able to assist?
That’s on my website with far more questions & the answers to go with them. This video was to help you THINK through your answers to make yourself stand out from the other candidates 🤷🏽♀️
Thank you. It’s very helpful. But i have note, if you highlight the answers on the said of the video it will help how’s English not very good. Thanks again 🙏🏽
You are welcome. That's a level of editing that I would have to learn. In the meantime, I think you can turn captions on in RU-vid. That should help as well.
Hi Timeka! First, thank you for everything you do! You have helped me tremendously! Question: Do you think it’s realistic for me to become an HR generalist?I’m a recent grad with a degree in HRM. Also, I have my SHRM-CP. I also have 12 years of experience working for the DMV with various roles such as customer service representative, supervisor, and now I’m an administrative assistant. I’m not fully opposed to starting with HR assistant or coordinator. I just wanted your input being that I have years of transferable skills.
You don’t have to start as an HR Assistant. I can answer that question best after a Resume Review. I’m doing them for a little while but they won’t remain as a stand alone option. Are you interested in having me review your resume? (Just in case our responses are delayed - it’s on my website on the Work With Me page)
Hi. Can I be hr if I do have unclear voice. I have cleft palate so my voice is nasel and some words are unclear. So is there any scope in hr.or tell me some professions where my voice thing don't matter I do have non tech background Thanks
You can but you would have a better chance at using your network to find an opportunity so that they can highlight how you would be a good fit & get them to give you a reason for not giving yoh the job to make sure they aren’t being discriminatory. You may find None people facing roles easier (ie Data analytics in HR, Payroll, HRIS Analysts, etc)
Hi Timeka, I have a question: I recently got fired from government county job while on probation reason said was I am not a good fit. I have a interview for another Position in the county. What do u suggest I say when they ask me why I am no longer in this position?
All your videos are helpful, I hope someone gives me an opportunity. Many look for experience, in HR. I guess they don't Blvd in pl who want to transition to different department/role
I'm so happy you find them helfpul and thank you so much for letting me know! They look for experience because it's not easy getting an approval to add another headcount to HR so by the time you get it, you are overwhelmed with work and have no time to train someone without know what their learning curve is like.
Thank you so much for saying that so nicely. I’m going to make a conscious effort to talk slower. Honestly, I naturally talk fast especially when I’m passionate about something. 🥴 Kind of ironic you post this on Easter bc I remember when my mom & grandma used to keep practicing my Easter speech with me only to get me to say it slower bc remembering it was never the problem 🥰
This is a great video with excellent detail. I’ll update you on my second interview on August 11. Any tips beforehand is appreciated, too. 🤣 🫶🏽🫶🏽🤎✊🏾🫶🏽🫶🏽
Congrats on getting to the interview stage!! I have this video that talks all about being an HR Generalist: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-utxHs0FDMwU.html and this video compares an HR Generalist to an HRBP ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B2efkPliQgM.html
