Other scenes filmed in St Catharines and Niagara on the Lake IIRC. The fire truck that gets the stuck on a pole tongue fixed is still displayed in the Niagara area
This is my favorite movie ever! Watch it religiously every season! Thanks for featuring this! Came for the mob videos and stayed for this! New subscriber! Love your content!
Wow, thanks for the kind words. Yes, we watch it every year. A favorite of mine as well. Appreciate you watching. Sometimes, doing true crime (which can be a heavy topic) and fun ones like filming locations on the same channel are a tough mix but I try to cover everything!! Thanks again!!!! Chris
Wow, even though unbelievable, I believe it. That is nuts if that is the case. I agree with your take. This is one of the best Christmas movies ever. Sad if they pulled it. Thx for watching!!! Chris
I've heard that "Bo ling" was once actually a bowling alley, and was not a restaurant at the time. It's a French restaurant today. Guaranteed if they became a Chinese Restaurant instead and served Peking Duck with the Maître d' coming to the table with the cleaver, they would make a fortune! If I was in Toronto, I would put that high on my list!
They don't call it Hollywood north for nothing. That was pretty cool because its such an iconic Christmas movie. And how of the scenes still exist. Like the movie it still airs every year weeks leading up to xmas. City is usually pretty good with leaving movies original. Btw I remember the day they put the Blazer up in the wall in the city building. Wow how time does fly.
I love movie locations, especially here in Toronto. Would be great to see a location video on the movie 'The Last Chase' (1981) starring Lee Majors that was filmed in Toronto and around the GTA.
@@GuitarLessonsBobbyCrispy thank u for the idea. I will start looking at it. I have done Tommy Boy, this one, working on a few more. Appreciate you watching and giving me the idea!!!
@davidkahley9766 yes, when they run down the alley, it is completely different now but was just east of Sears st on Minto street. Looks so different now.
How about one of these days, doing a video on the filming locations of the 1973 movie “WALKING TALL”? You might just feel The Pine Ridge Club is still functioning.
Wasn't the scene when the kids have their faces up against the store window shot in Toronto as well? It looks like the old Simpson's store at Yonge and Queen. I think that there's an old TTC streetcar in the background.
Good point, I will have to research that. I have been to both the Cleveland sites and Toronto sites but haven't thought about that. Appreciate you watching!!
Fun video! My old stomping grounds. I think the bridge might have been on Queen St. E over the Don Valley. Cherry St bridge isn’t the only one that looks like that at night. 😊
Thanks!!! This is the bridge, based on research and shooting locations....but you are correct, not the only one that looks like that, and I know the other bridge you are talking abiout. This bridge was also prominently used in Police Academy when they throw the photomat booth over....🤣. Thanks for watching!!!!! Chris
@whatifschrodingersboxwasacofin I am just like you, I always enjoy learning from others, doing research and hearing about history. I don't always get it right, but enjoy the process. Thx again!!!
52 Division is the police department who used to take suspects down to Cherry Beach “… handcuffed to a chair, I’m joining the lineup to fall down the stairs…”
How come you didn’t show the school and the famous tongue stuck to pole scene that was filmed in Saint Catharines Ontario. About 45 minutes from Toronto. Do your research dude.
@douglaskidd1359 I do my research, and, like with most others who have done the sites, will show it in a separate video, the same as with Cleveland sites, becasue they are not in Toronto. I have visited St. Catharines numerous times, unfortunately it wasn't put into the same video for you. I film these sites out of joy of sharing and hope others enjoy. Unfortunately, there is always someone who isn't happy. Thanks
I was born and raised in Toronto I wasn't aware Christmas Story was filmed just police academy movies degrassi junior high and so on lots of others were filmed there robocop the series early 90s as well
Yes, agreed...I used to also visit Toronto all the time as a kid and I had no idea. Police Academy is classic...I love visiting Kensington amd seeing those sites. I also filmed all the Tommy Boy movie sites there. Appreciate you watching!!! Chris
